Good luck with yoga! I'm glad you found a type of exercise that you enjoy. I spent years trying to find mine. Running didn't cut it, and eventually I got an I jury that prevented me from running long distances ever again. It was during covid that I found what works best for me: a mix of HIIT (high intensity interval training) and zumba. Now, exercising doesn't even feel like a chore anymore! I feel better sitting down to crochet knowing that this routine waits for me at the end of the day. There's no going back when you find your perfect exercise "tribe". Looking forward to hearing more about your yoga journey!

Hi Christa. Thanks for sharing your hip situation. We crochet makers need to remind each other to get up and move more. I have been having pain in my back and hips in bed. I definitely sit too much, so I'm moving more, stretching more, stretching before bed. Let's get better together.

I feel you. Severe sciatic and femoral nerve issues landed me on the floor many times. I had to use a walker and eventually couldn't manage to lift my legs or stand up from a sitting position. Fortunately it's getting better. Hope yours heals quickly. Love those hearts. Definitely going to make some for my girls. Thank you

I save my scraps. I have 2 ongoing scrap blankets: one for light worsted, worsted and Aran weight scraps; and one for fingering, sport and DK weight scraps. Tail-size scraps go into a small container to be used with stuffing.

I save my scraps. Then I just give them to someone who can’t afford to buy yarn in our community. I never have trouble of someone wanting them. Always throw a skein or two just because it makes me happy ❤

I have a question for you. I can’t remember where I got this pattern and I have made several of your baby blankets. This one you do a triple, 2doubles in same stitch chain 2 single crochet chain 2 repeat. Having a brain fart. 😮 I have now started writing them down. The name of pattern and the creator. Thanks

Hi …During lockdown we weren’t allowed to walk at the beach, streets or parks so I did “Walk Away the Pounds “ In my lounge or bedroom on a yoga mat. It’s free on youtube and you can do what you are fit enough to do. I really enjoyed it. Ps I didn’t gain any weight during lockdown. 😊🌻

I always save my scraps that’s dollar signs you see being thrown away if you don’t use them ( my opinion I do Amigurumi so some of those craps make it into several of my amigurumi’s Plus I save them to make up scrappy throws they may not always be the beauty queens you plan for, but they are useful for the cold days or nights here in MN. Hope you’re feeling better I’m 69 and yes feel all the aches and pains of my life’s journeys from my past Movement is the key Love ya take care

I used a walker for 4 years. I had upper involuntary movements (arms and neck). I have bulging discs, pinched nerves and narrowing of my spine. I get epidural shots in my neck and sciatic nerve (lower back). My leg is numb and sometimes shooting pain. I had physical therapy. Yes, buy a desk to stand and sit. Use a stationary bike or a treadmill. Light exercises. Walk it off. Strengthen your muscles and don’t over do it. Thank you sharing . As I turned 59 the other day, I realize that everything has been life journey. Including this one. Thank you for all you do. I’m cheering for you. ❤

You can get an adjustable laptop thingy that raises an lowers and just put it on your beloved desk.

scraps - can't throw them away. that's like throwing away money. Go to projects are scarves holding two strands of scraps and change one of the strands as they end... ends up looking pretty cool

I save my scraps. I paid for that yarn. There are so many craft projects you can do. Like yarn wreaths or pom pom necklaces for kids. Small motifs or granny squares framed to decorate your craft room. Etc. Etc.

I’m 70 and don’t expect to get hip problems! I sit a lot crocheting and knitting but I do stand and walk about regularly - primarily to get a cup of tea or coffee/glass of water and to visit the bathroom! Also got three cats who (despite a cat door) want to be let in and out. My home is on three floors so I am up and down about pretty often. Nevertheless I am conscious of being sedentary in the winter months and could perhaps do a bit more exercise! Not in to exercise apps. Scraps - I’m in the keep lobby. I made a huge scrap blanket in half double crochet using three strands of leftovers held together and magic knotted each strand as it ran out and then crocheted the ends in. I used different weights of yarn, some variegated, some plain, some fluffy, etc. and kept the finished combo about the same thickness. It’s really fabulous, heavy, warm and attractive. Another one is on my project list for this year!🥰🧶 love your podcasts - so much fun and inspiring. Love and gratitude, Christa from Linda, UK 💕🧶💕 PS how about a crocheted sweater tutorial this year? I save all yarn. It really came in handy when I was restoring an afghan that was about 40 years old and a dog had chewed up several sections. I needed a red and green that matched the undamaged sections. They match exactly and you couldn’t any new sections!!!!

Hi Christa! I got up from bed one morning and one leg had NO feeling! It folded under me and I hit the floor. I managed to pull myself up and started to walk again and .... same thing .... leg folded up and down I went. There was no pain. I couldn't feel that leg at all. By the time I pulled myself up again, I had gained feeling in my leg and was doing fine! I was very blessed to not have broken my hip or something. As crochet peeps, we do sit far too much. It takes a toll. I have a large basket full of scraps. I have found that I rarely use them. I've decided they are good for winding up into little balls to use as waste yarn for my knitting machines. I think you hit on most of the questions I see often asked. That will be a fun video! Have a good weekend.

you can also get a desk topper that raisers manually so you can raise your workspace, might be a good option so you can stay working on your favorite desk.

I keep all my scraps small balls go in a giant pickle jar. Maker, balls of scrap go in a three tier or three drawer container. My plan for my scraps is to hold three together and make something I don’t know what but something. I am want to fixed income. I live in a low income Apartment complex. So I have to keep my scraps. I might need that color.
