For someone playing by the rules, police should be working with you to help make your van safer. Why not get some cross beams made of wood that you can fit as needed then remove. Hgv trailers have metal rails down the inside at chest height to drop the bars in to stop pallets moving.

That copper must have been a jobsworth just gagging to get you for something , as for the cage get yourself some of those galvanised steel barriers that they use at events and shows as temp fencing they are about 3 m long by 2 m high and you can fit one on each side and fix one on top to form a cage....👍 just an idea really Also you can buy some checker plate and screw that to the bed to protect the ply from ripping when your dragging gear on and off . cheers mate and good luck with your scrapping...👍

If nothing has fallen off your truck ,you can't be prosecuted for an insecure load you should not of accepted the fine ,you should appeal it this happened to me and I won the case.

Words of advice would have been sufficient (watched most of your videos, and you're professional in what you do), However, has that officer attended an accident that has been caused by an insecure load etc, questions we'll never know but just putting that out there. A fine and points is the last thing you deserve, but just ride it and put it down to experience. You've made your adjustments to your van so they can't say owt now.

Go back to the cop shop and show the work has been done , then explain that you was under the impression that this should have been done under a fix it within 7 days. As it was a minor issue. Show that you are someone that respects the law and likes to do thing right. If you don't get it revoked ask to go to court with what work you have done you will get away with it.

Plead not guilty in court,ask for video evidence from the police officer of the area of vehicle that he issues fine and point for,they carnt and wont produce in court = no evidence,been here time after time m8 and win everytime no points no fine simple fact.

Shame about the lack of common sense from the officer, should have been left at words of guidance at most. Not all cops are like that just the odd one who always gives everyone a bad name. Good job though getting it all fixed up.
