A Look at Quake 2 Remastered 

Awesome how this is a FREE upgrade for anyone who already owned Quake II!

this remaster is iconic and i think it sets a great example of the type of treatment that classic awesome games should get every time. nightdive and ID are great for each other.

I absolutely love the whole idea of including content from other versions but also adding new content. I hope they continue to trend going forward with remasters!. Now if only we could have a Deus Ex remaster by Nightdive.

I love the remaster... countless hours I spent back in the day playing multiplayer deathmatch now we back at it.

The compass is a game changer. I got this game back in 1997 when it came out and never finished it I kept getting lost as a kid. Finally beat the campaign after 25 years! Oh and the Berserkers are BULLCRAP!

I have played Quake 2 on the PC-CDROM back in 2000. The best FPS game ID software has created. I also enjoyed playing Wolfenstein and Doom. However, Quake tops it all. Great graphics, characters, settings, weapons, etc. I can't wait to play this again on the Xbox One.

My biggest memory from when I first played Quake II in 2000 was being disappointed because Shotguns are one of my favorite weapon types in gaming and I expected to start with a Shotgun like n Quake I (This was the first time I had ever played an FPS that was part of a series where you started with a different weapon then the previous game). To make things a little worse I missed the Shotgun in the opening area somehow so I didn't find one until the Comm Center. And getting to the Machine Gun in the Installation with just a Blaster was not fun. After a friend of mine showed me where the Shotgun in the opening area was I memorized the route to it so I would never miss it again

Man I’m so happy to see all the coverage this game is getting now, I had Quake 1 and 2 on steam since the day it came out. Now let’s hope we get some updates and add ons these were the games no DLC, Battlepass bs, buying skins etc... let’s hope for Quake 4 remaster in a few years

Probably best remaster I`ve touched. Spent 30+ hours in it..

Quake 2 is a great remastered classic fps alongside fellow NIghtdive Studios 2023 remastered fps Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition! Both games being two of the four most recent games to set foot on my Perfect Games list on Steam where the other two were fellow boomer shooters Doom 64 and AMID EVIL (going for the six achievements exclusive to The Black Labyrinth expansion since I had all the other 37 achievements playing the base game from a couple of years back). I look forward to potentially trying out the remastered version of Star Wars: Dark Forces when it comes out. I look how in Quake 2's newest campaign in Call of the Machine it confirms that in a certain way that Quake 1 and Quake 2 are connected! Nice video btw.

The remaster is god tier, my only complain is the railgun nerf. After numerous requests from the fans they rised the damages but not back to its original values. Which is a shame, the joy of using the railgun is to oneshoot most enemies. The leaping attack is annoying too. Beside that I loved it.

I know nobody will actually read this, but maybe: does anyone have any ideay how in the remastered Q2 the CRT-emulation should be finetuned? By default it looks very awkward. There are half dozen console variables that changes the look, but I couldnt find any documentation or guide what values to modify and how?

Can this remaster still load & play the Q2 unofficial expansion - Juggernaut & Zaebro?

Once i played Quake 2, Tank saw me from his world to my and he gets conciousness. Than he gets very heavy to defeat. I felt that he gets envy because he realized that he must live in his dimension while i live in my world. That makes him so mad, that the Quake Universe began to be real and Tank exist there and is waiting for players to defeat them. Tank try to change his dimension with a gamer he defeats. Because he try to invade earth and defeat humanity alone. then he will bring the other quake characters to earth to join our world, our cities, our technology and take their pension.

Is the remake available on steam? Is it like an extension to buy or is it a stand alone?
