I hope SEGA loosens up on their restrictions on some characters it just doesn't feel right having some game characters like Cream and so on not appear in the comics.
I do not like how Sega restricted the writers from some characters, the Archie characters sure but game characters, WHY? I'm convinced Cream and characters connected to her aren't going to appear, especially considering Sega also restricted some use of her during Archie Sonic's lifetime. Why'd they do this?
I thing Cream isn't going to be in the Book because Ian (a writer that has shown the past struggles to use characters to advance the plot unless there can take direct action) because Cream for what every reason isn't allowed to fight to preserve her cute factor (totally hypocritical given her story in Sonic battle what that's Modern Sega for you). And For Eggman Nega I have no Idea the best I could think of is that Iizuka fucked his backstory so hard in Rivals that he now isn't allowing anyone else to touch him. The rest are only Tv/Comic book characters or are confirmed Dead in the games like Blakc Doom.

@@knuxuki1013 You see the problem in all your solutions for Cream were done in Pirat Plunder Panic which was the only time in the Main Archie comics someone else than Ian wrote her (Name Tracy) it really seams to be an issue on Ians part (I mean just look at how little he understands her in Treasure team Tango) and I am not sure ifs its Ian's writing style but he also tends to under power her (again Treasure team tango and even worse The worlds Unite crossover were even Roll got more action thanks to sticks). While there is a good amount of hinds that Cream is actually somewhat interested in technology in the games (namely the true ending of Advance 3 were she and Cheese assist Tails in Gemerls restoration and Sonic Free Riders were she was established as Team Rose mechanic and the constructor of there teams Extrem Gears) Does Geek Girl not line up with the Kawai Desu Girl that Sega seemingly wants her to keep as (that is at least what I heard off not sure if this is in-realty just an excuse someone made up for Ian) (To be honst if I had anything to say would I make her an fan of Gerald Robotics early work (you know as the geneticist that just wanted to help the world) and would have made a mini story addressing her absents from Forces as well as the previous story (and no "Vanilla said no" BS Cream would given her character just ignore this order if she sees others in great danger and knows she could help them ). So speaking of Limits HOW the hell did Ian got approval to use a Virus that robotizasis people into Sonic Heroes multiplayer Robot versions of them self?

As much as I love the Knothole Village Freedom Fighters, Two characters I really want to see is The two Pronghorn sisters Cassia & Clove. They have so much potential for character development and the way their story ended in the last series sucked. An even better idea (and anyone can suggested this two Ian Flynn's Twitter or an IDW contact) is two start a second Sonic Series titled Sonic Legacy. The point of this one is to Finnish any remaining arcs and close the story of the Archie time line. This way we get a proper end. Let's be honest if IDW did this, they would make a fortune. Im not a professional analysist but I like the comics so far. I dont think it is entirely justifiable to compare IDW to Archie just yet, since IDW is only now going into it's second year and Archie ran for well over twenty years. IDW has barely started, and there isnt much to judge yet. But what there is so far is not bad in my opinion.
These seem to be starting strongly, although I still haven't picked up too many issues... maybe sometime this year So, Starline is basically Duck-Finitivus?
LOL I was thinking the same thing. That guy is one of my favorite villains in anything. Anytime you think someone has a diabolical scheme, he comes along like, "Awww... genocide against an entire race? How cute. I'm just here to annihilate all sentient life; and when I'm done, I'll wait my turn if I don't finish myself off. It's all in the name." Man I miss that guy. Sense Penders didn't make him, they could technically use him, but I think Penders will try to sue IDW the very minute a new Echidna arrives on the scene.
I would not... the Archie started off being based off the cartoon. They thought they'd be out of the job once it ended. That series, to me didn't take off until at least 25 issues in. But what it ended up becoming was absolutely amazing. But yes, the beginning of the Archie comics is so kiddy, it's kind of a slog to get through...
Still have mix feelings about the IDW comics. On the one hand, it's great to see several of the old Archie artists back (even if it's for a work-for-hire basis), the new characters are good, and it does have the Sonic spirit in them. On the other hand, I still miss the characters and concepts from the original Archie comics. Ken Penders aside, there we still memorable characters and plots from the old days. And of course, many still miss Sally and the rest of the Freedom Fighters. One other gripe is that it was hard for me to find where new issues were sold. Haven't been lucky at Barnes & Noble or any of my local comic shops. But still, I don't think there was too much complaints from the fans about the IDW version, right? Right?
@@fuzzie6299 it sounds more like your "pissed" he doesn't he doesn't just drop his love of the the Archie series in favor of this one, also he cant find stores selling this book, thats kind of a flaw, not with the series but with distribution, this guy isn't even complaining about the IDW comic, lets be civil. @Anthony: I can understand where you come from, I grew up with the Archie Sonic since I knew where to buy the comic in person, moreso I will miss that comic because way before I even started the comic I watched Sonic SatAm as a kid in its glory days all up until cancellation. I love the comics because, to me, it almost kinda carried on from where the show left off (almost, at least in feeling) I had to learn to accept that the series was not going in a favorable direction after the first Penders retcons, which after learning about him I was alright with but at the same time it stung a little cause I did like some of the characters. Then the second retcon outa nowhere. Then cancellation. (I cannot help but feel disdain for Ken Penders) I was shifty about this series as well before when I heard its announcement, but what got me to really want to support it beforehand was hearing it was pretty much being made by the same team that brought me the comics I love (Except Penders, which im glad for) and as I see more, I see this is going to be a great series. There is a vocal minority that keeps complaining due to this just not being Archie series, if thats how those types want to be they will never be happy with the IDW comic, but no one is robbing them of their love of the old series, just instead of having new tales they can go revisit the old ones (I do from time to time). The IDW comic is here to stay and hopefully it gets a following as strong as the Archie comic, it deserves every Sonic fans attention.

Yeah, year one was very solid. The Sonic comics are more epic than ever and the future is looking very bright for SEGA’s mascot so far. I picked up issue 13 and boy, things are getting dark fast with Eggman testing his virus that turns organics into metal. This is just like the old days of Sonic media when Robuttnik was converting living beings into robots. SatAM and Archie did get dark a lot! Year 2 should be more amazing than the first, hopefully, Dr Starline gets his butt whooped and sent into full retreat before year three begins! Good work, Megabeatman. I look forward to your issue 13 review!

Do you think Sonic forgot that Shadow was brainwashed by his creator to destroy a planet (to avenge Maria) and tried to make up for it by risking his life to help Sonic save that same planet? I know this is a nitpick, but I _really_ don't -- and didn't -- like how Sonic had the gall to compare the _atoner_ to the _world's worst enemy_ like that.
I dont mind going back to the stand m.o. for characters, but I hope from here on out they aren't afraid to make changes here and there. Like new villians, or heck Sonic finds and adopts q stray wispon. Something
I am still angry, that the creator of Tangle, just copy my Whip the Pangolin, inclusive her purple eyes! The only thing they didn't copy, is the origins. My Whip is from the future of the chaos dimension. She lives in the same timeline as Silver. I just hope the IDW comics do not include Silvaze, Sonamy or even Sonally, if Sally does appear again.
Im 99% certain that Tyson (tangle's designer) has no idea you or Whip exists, unless he's seen a picture or description of Whip on social media which is pretty unlikely, and its even more unlikely for a proffesional artist and animator like him to just copy a character.

A full year in and it is a big disappointment. Ian Flynn’s one chance at creating a new sonic world and build it. He did none of that. There’s too much focus on action scenes and no world building or character development what so ever. A big chunk of the comic was a repeat of the previous issue and borrowing ideas of previous material’s from the games or Archie comics. Ian Flynn killed the idw comics for me so I am not supporting it till the writing gets better or if they replace Ian Flynn and his team all together.
@@hunterketch989 first of all this is a non canonical sequal to a crapy game nobody but da artitst likes, second all they had to do was at least use a page of diologe to tell readers a breaf summery about the world the comic takes place in. its not hard to do and reusing old plot points to make a new story is so damn lazy. god i wish penders was writing instead of flynn

Not to mention these characters personalities are being set back to how they're supposed to be (lookin at you lost world,colors, and forces) Also we would need a TON more OC's for a fleshed out world which,with character development,WILL take WAY more time than a year.

This book disappoints me. When it comes to where I'd rate it would be in the middle. Not really bad, but not good either. It's ok overall. If we're just talking about art it is above average, though.
I have seen some people say this, but I got to be honest. I just don't see it. I am aware of its flaws and stuff but when reading through the series, I didn't really get a "bad/trash" vibe from it. I think right now, it is a good/alright series. I am enjoying my time with it, but, as I said before, it has flaws that do need ironing out. Hopefully in Year 2 that happens
