@@edtaggart9779 I would rather be stupid and easily amused by shows like this than the useless crap that’s shown today filled with evilness, homosexuality, sexually immorality, violence, death by violence, and overall immoral conduct.
@@daisydukes8252 I think we all have to be jarred out of our complacency on a regular basis. It is human nature. No one wants to live on pablum. We need chili peppers and curry as well. I don't mind Lucy but I also watch Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and black comedy. The entertainment universe is vast📽🎬
I love how they always fought and made a mess of everything, but by the end of the show they were best of friends, and everything was always wonderful.
This a great Christmas episode with two of the funniest ladies ever. I'm 67 and I laugh just as hard watching them today as I did the first hundred times on black and white tv's, re-runs, VHS tapes & now DVD Box sets. They'll never be another two like them and the laughter, together, they gave the world.
Very well said😃👍‼️And you're definitely 🎯 right on target🌠‼️ Actually Lucy + Vivian are involved in one of my Very earliest memories ( it w in i love Lucy but i LOVE this show just as much) I vividly recall me n my twin watching this at our great grandmother's house at 2 That was in 67, and i , just a you stayed , also have the vcr taoes , DVDs, etc , a he set my lil brother gave me along w a Honeymooners 🌕🌛set Of course i cherish em and watch em ALOT!😁 I You are so right, they're definitely incomparable and quite talented 🎯! I Love this episode also+ although I'm writing this day after Christmas, its still ChristmasTIME🙂+ I'm finally getting the chance to watch this tonight ✨🌛 U also gave me the GREAT idea to watch one of my Here's Lucy DVDs tonight ( wish i had THIS one) Merry Day after Christmas 🌜✨🌲🌛
In later years, on talk shows like Johnny Carson, Lucy would frequently get tears in her eyes when she spoke about Vivian and friends who had passed. She may have had a tough business brain but her heart was soft. She was quite sentimental.
When I was younger my sister was involved with the youth group at church. Her and her husband were youth directors. We did so many amazing things and one of the things that I love the most was going door-to-door caroling. We would all carry a white candle with a round piece of cardboard so the wax would not burn us and we sang in people's driveway . Those were the best years. People don't do that anymore and it's so sad that people are more into themselves these days then into each other ! Those years will never come back the same!
Agreed!! I was in youth group and our church was next to homes that we Christmas caroled through every year, particularly the year one of the choir members lost her daughter in a car accident one snowy night. We gathered before her house so she would feel our warmth as we sang in the cold. I wouldn't have changed my upbringing with youth group for the world.
You probably dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my brother recently =)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH🙏❤🙏 AND A VERY VERY VERY MERRY MERRY MERRY🎅🎄🎅 CHRISTMAS🎄🎅🔔❄🎄🎅🔔❄🎄🎅🔔❄ TO YOU AND YOURS TOO AND TO US ALL,,, HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH🙌🙌🙌,,, AMEN AMEN AMEN🙏🙏🙏!!!
seeing this and listening to the angelic voices singing the Christmas carols during this pandemic time .. brought tears to my eyes. it's beautiful, and comforting.. ❤❤❤.. thank you for uploading this 💕
Thanks for posting! I love how they turned two trees into one to fix their mistakes. So heartwarming. I have never seen the Lucy show before but will research it more now. I loved I Love Lucy though. The beginning of this reminded me of the episode where they wore the same dresses for a show and tore each other's apart. So funny! But also so touching. Happy holidays everyone.
reminded me of the I Love Lucy episode where Ethel & Lucy had bought the same dress for the charity show and both refused to wear something else.. and sang a song about sisters and started ripping bows and pieces off of each others dresses as they sang LOL.. hilarious!!
Friendship just the perfect Blendship by Cole Porter. Love that episode lol. “Thought you were gonna take yours back!” (while trying to smile for the cameras)
🎄. There's a saying that the color of your Christmas tree shows a piece of your personality. Viv, who bought a Christmas tree before meeting her friend at the meat store, bought a white tree because that's what she had as a child. When Lucy saw the tree, she again disapproved of the choice. Lucy always had a traditional green tree. The women couldn't agree on one color or the color of the ornaments, so they got both trees.
This is the era I still find means Christmas for me. Maybe it was growing up with Lucy, or my grandma's house. Whatever the case, it was such a wonderful time in our history.
This show was one of the best!! I never missed watching it , as I read no they don't make show's like this anymore ! Lucy and Viv one of a kind . Bless them and all 🙏🙏
I remember growing up with I 💖 lucy , and I still 💕 the show !!! It is priceless , makes you want to wach it over & over. The Christmas ones are my. Favorite🎄🎅🎄 !!!
Those were the good ole ‘ days. I especially loved the Christmas carolers. Reminds me of when I went caroling with my young adult group from church a couple Christmases ago. So much has changed since this pandemic and I feel nostalgic for the way things used to be.
I loved these two women!! Some of the best comedy came from this show!! I'm in my mid sixes and I certainly miss this comedy! Another goodie was Carol Burnett show!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
I remember seeing this episode the first time around on Christmas eve in the early 60s I was just a kid then ...thanks for posting ... the first time I've seen it again after all these years
MERRY CHRISTMAS 2023! ✨️🎄✨️ Never saw this episode. Thank You So Much For Posting. It brought both Laughter And Tears! 😊 Lucy And The Gang Are Forever A Timeless Classic! ❤
RIP to all of these wonderful actors (male and female). I grew up watching them and esp. when I had to stay home with the measles, oh they made the time pass so much better. These were the true shows of the golden age, not the trash on tv today
I read many years ago Lucy did not like Viv when they first met and thought Viv would not be "right" for the part. I think everyone won with Viv being casted. What a team! What a duo! What laughs...we still have decades later!
I'd love to see this in color, I love the older movies especially in color, too see the classic things back then, including the houses, buildings and so forth
I too am 61 and fondly remember watching this show. It was great, made me laugh and Lucy gave us Star Trek, and so any other great tv shows through Desilu Studios.
Yes! They might have a Christmas show. They may even have a few carolers. But singing about “Christ our Lord”? No network would ever allow that today! They’re too busy promoting Sam Smith in a Satan costume for the Grammy Awards with the tweet “are you ready to worship?” Oh come quickly Lord Jesus. We can’t survive much longer without you.
I miss those days 😢 yes values were simple, and yes, Lucy and Ethel were hilarious 😂 and yet it brought tears because I miss the love back in my days no matter how poor I was growing up I was but I was happy, teachers were wonderful to make the Christmas special.
Ah...when all the ornaments were glass.....and I wonder if this is where my 4 sisters got the idea to buy TWO trees and smoosh them together...because the couldn’t find “one that was really, really big but still pretty enough”? Turned out pretty cool, if memory serves....Happy Yuletide, everyone!!
