For a disastrous piece of work in progress, it turned out beautifully. I am not a fan of weapons but I would definitely find a place to display this after all the work. You are definitely an artist worthy of high praise.❤❤❤❤❤
Wendy you are brilliant, I love the way you talk us through your videos. You might be frustrating the mould, but the piece was still amazing 😊I’m learning so much from you, thank you.
Those colors are so beautiful. Now I want to buy them! You went above and beyond on this project. I would have filed it in the circular file. That's US slang for thrown it straight in the trash can. 😂
The end-result is beautiful, despite the difficulties. I wonder if the mold was actually a set for two separate swords? It would of course mean casting each piece twice, but they look symmetrical within each mold, so it might be the solution.
Unfortunately the shape of the sword with the barbs would prevent it from working but I appreciate you taking the time to think about it. Thank you so much 😀💜
I think you did an amazing job. Even though the molds are not even, the part of sword with the horns is actually trying to replicate part of the design of the actual sword this is based on. The sword is Frostmourne from World of Warcraft (and other Blizzard games) and one of the skulls with the horns actually curl around guard. Just be aware that the sword design is an IP and I doubt that there were any licenses granted by the game company for the mold.
OHhhh thats eye opening as I used to play WoW years ago 😂😂😂😂 well I guess if the time come I can unlist the video. Thank you so much for pointing that out though ... I knew somebody would know
Hi Wendy... I to buy from Temu and you get what you pay for that's for sure. If I get a couple of uses out of a mold from them, I'm good with that. Great video as always!
Hi Wendy...seems like either the 2 pieces are not meant to be put back to back and only used as applicaes or they sent you 2 of the same half instead of the mirror image...stay safe...press on 😎Joe
Ms Wendy, you made awesome dagger out this uneven mold ,loved the brilliant colors, needs a lot of patience to color this mold, which you did awesomely. As far as the visible edges and all,you managed to correct them,Noone can spot any mistake in it.Indeed a beautiful creation 💜💜💜
Thank you but the sword had a left and right side because of the barbs on the blade so that actually would have been worse 😳 that thank you for thinking about it 😀💜👍
You did a great job with what you had and the colors you chose are gorgeous. I think though that the horn wraps around which is why one side is different. Just my opinion.🤷🏻♀️
I think you are right but they were positioned wrong so didn't match up at all lol. never mind we live a learn don't we ...🤣🤣😅 and I know never to make a detailed sword again🤣🤣🤣
Yeah I agree. I hate that sword too. But it is a cheapo mold, with an ugly baphomet on it. So what can you expect 🤔 those colors are stricking though. Thanks for sharing 😊
so apparently it's copied from a popular game sword and is quite recognizable as being from that game though I didn't know it . But yes it was a horrible mould and i won't be making it again. but thank you Ali 🥰
You saved it.. despite its determination not to be saved! The colors are beautiful and thanks to your tenacity we all got to see them. I had a similar experience this last Christmas. I was asked to make DnD dice for our Grandkids. Of course this request was done without the knowledge of the difficulty factor.😅 I’d never attempted dice but, I gave it a go.. without a Pressure Pot!😂 The mold came with what was basically a lid so, the #’s would imprint on that side. I only had the one mold to make 2 sets. Not only were there bubbles.. because they had no where to escape to.. the heat also had no escape. Which caused the lid to fuse to the mold.🙄 I spent forever trying to save that mold because I didn’t have enough time to order another one. Since then, I came across a great tip: (Crazy Glass Lady): put the entire mold with the cured pieces still in there, into hot water. Let it sit for a bit and voila! It will unfuse (spell check doesn’t think unfuse is a word.)😆 I really wish I had known that before!😅 Great job sticking with it Wendy!💜
Oh wow that is a fantastic tip 😀😀😀 I’ve never heard of that before and I’m sure people would be interested to know about this. Thank you Funo. I think I have that same mould somewhere and never used it because I don’t make dice and really I thought it was an awful mould 😂😂😂 I guess I was right 🤫😂
I'm glad I did not try those dice. I tried a single dice mold and thought nope. I'm thinking with resin, the bubbles and imperfections would make the dice roll funny. I give you credit for making the dice. Good going.
Shared. Wendy, you made this the best it could be, and it looks amazing. The colors are gorgeous, and the Let's Resin pens were perfect for this. It's Temu- you're going to have that with their merchandise, LOL. Have a great week 💙💜💛
The sword is named Frostmourne and it’s from World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BCr7y4SLhck.htmlsi=eWnXFdo32ZMT7BFB
Thank you! 💐You did a sterling job with that crappy mould! 👍☺️Colours are great! 🥰I personally have patience but that mould would have pushed me over the edge! 🤪😂 respect to you! Subscribed!
Gorgeous color shift powders! 💕 The end result is beautiful, Wendy, but I can understand why you were so disgusted...I would have been, too! 😖 Kudos for sticking to the bitter end! 👍😊 Only remedy I can think of is to make two pieces from just one mold, but whadda pita!
Yeah I thought of that, but sadly the barbs on the blade would not have fitted back to back either 😡😡 It really got to me, this one 😳 I think a bad purchase can really set you back 💜💜💜💜
Possible yes but sold as a back to back for sure due to the fact I would not have looked twice otherwise 😕 I really don’t like weapons of any kind 😀😀🥰🥰
You did everything in your power to make the sword look good. I love Let's Resin products. Their colors make everything look great. I appreciate all the time and effort you spent on this video. ❤❤❤
I'm told by my other half that this sword is called Frostmourne (the lich Kings rune blade) from the game World of Warcraft. He's a giant nerd!! 😂 those colours are really lovely, and we'll done for sticking with it! Xx
Love the colours you chose. I’m not sure but I don’t think the molds are supposed to be put together. I think it’s a set of knives that are similar..love from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks Amma but the only reason I bought them was because they fit together (supposedly) I’m not a sword person at all but I thought if it was a two part it was worth trying 😂😂😂 how wrong was I 🤭😂💜
Mica powder hack! Use the small sponge eyeshadow applicators….they have some long that have applicators at both ends! The mica powder doesn’t fly around nearly as badly as using a brush!
Someone else said that 😳😳😳 and I played WoW for 10 years and didn’t realise 😂😂😂😂 wth was I thinking 🤷♀️😂 why didn’t I know 🤭 oh the shame of it 😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you 🥰
It turned out nice. Suggestion for a new video. Show how to correct a faulty mold by fixing it and casting a new mold. Just food for thought. Love your work!
Beautiful colors!! I will take this in account as well if getting 2 part moulds. I did see there at the end, it looked the the horns were wrapping around the handle to me, yet if that’s what it was meant to be, the face wouldn’t be on both sides. Extremely poorly made design. You did Amazing ❤❤❤
I think you did a great job. Nobody could have done better. I think it looks ok. Personally I'm more a teddy bear person rather then a sword type but I like knights of the round table sort of movies occasionally. Instead of going together, maybe they were meant to criss cross on the wall? Like you see in castles above a mantle. And the person making the molds just eyeballed it. I really like Lets Resin stuff. That's about all I buy. I've had some problem with cheap molds recently. Not from them. But molds are all different. Love your videos.
That’s a lovely comment to read 😀😀😀💜 sadly it was sold as a one piece mould which is the only reason I bought it. But I’m definitely more a cuddly puppy person than a knife thrower 😂😂😂😂 I do have some great moulds from them though, so was expecting better 😂😂💜
Everything you do turns out gorgeous….the time you put into your work…. I have a question would it be possible to make 2 of the same mold and put them together? Or is it a senior moment I’m having? Carry on..lol
Well done! Especially with all the challenges. But you are - and I admire it! - stubborn. The end result looked good and some may or even see the oddities. Thank you for sharing. 🤗💜
What a shame that you put so much work into making this sword in such beautiful colors only to have it not match due to a faulty inferior mold. You persevered!!!!!💜
Just a suggestion to be able to get use from the mold, you could pour one mold let it cure and then repour using the same mold and that way they will match up completely, maybe they intended it to be 2 different swords that are very similar, but it makes no sense if that was their intention why they made them 99% identical so it would fool people. Hope you are able to go back to your Temu order and leave a review on this mold to hopefully save others. Great job Wendy you made it look like nothing was ever wrong. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos for us ❤
I really should have said this in the video but somehow it was missed 😳 the blade has barbs on it on one side. So pouring 2 of the same, they would not fit at all sadly 😳 however I appreciate you thinking of a solution and yes they were sold for a one piece sword. Very annoying 😡 Thanks so much for taking the time to comment 💜💜💜
The horns don't match because they are wrapping around the hand guard... you might be able to hide the back of the tips of the horns by adding some "gemstone"
Wendy, you've got a helluva lot more patience than I have! I'd have been bouncing the dang thing off of the wall after 5 minutes! I do like the end results though. Thanks for another great video.
Those colors are really amazing! I think the sword looks pretty cool, too. I think it might be kind of cool to use just one half of the sword and mount it on a tray mold to hang on your wall. With only one half of the sword, you wouldn't have to worry about the two sides not matching.
I can see that would have been better but sadly the only reason I purchased it was because it was a two part as I don’t like weapons at all, even decorative ones 😕🤷♀️ but a pair would have been a better description for sure. I wouldn’t have bought them 😂😂😂😂
You did way better than I did. I realized the two sides didn't match up and I just threw it in the bin and went and bought the person who was supposed to receive it for their present a gift card instead!
Sadly they were sold as a two part or I would not have purchased at all. I don’t like making any kind of sword, knife or any weapon type 😡 it’s not me 🥰🥰🥰
beautiful colors they are - so glad you did stay with it - turned out great - my grandson would love this - I think if I had done this - it might have been across the room lol - you are truly an artist
Hi there from, Seaton, Illinois, USA! All things considered, the dagger turned out beautifully! The colors are very vibrant and pretty. Something I was wondering about the mold is, could one possibly pour two pieces of the same mold and mount them back to back to make one? Then basically have two different yet similar daggers. Just a little curious. And, I might add, I absolutely LOVE watching your videos. I'm still fairly new to resin, and I have definitely learned a lot from you, Michael, and Daniel. Thank you so very much. Take care, Randy (MrRudog) Henderson.
Hi Randy Your idea about back to back same moulds wouldn’t work due to the blade being in the wrong direction. So I couldn’t do that 😳 I should have said I had thought about it 🤣🤣 I’m so happy you have enjoyed my channel and hope to entertain you in the future 😀❤️👍 Thank you for your support and comment 👍❤️
Wasted time.....not with you dear lady. You don't give up and I am very grateful you don't. You show us alternatives to a less than desirable mold. Thank you Wendy. ❤Gail
Wendy you are amazing with your patience as some would have given up.Well done 👍😄. I love the colours in the mica colorshift but how easy are they to get in the uk as some lets resin items take some time to be able to get in the uk 😌 I know it is not you fault bless you . Your work is always amazing 😄🥰
I know what you mean that in itself is so frustrating. But we hopefully we get them soon .. the answer is I really don't know . I am going to Florida at the end of the month and might just bring crafting supplies back with me ... hopefully --- my website might have a few additions for a while 😀
Awww Wendy that will be really nice for you (any room in the suitcase for me 😂🤣 ) I really hope you have a great time there 😁. If you are able to bring some supplies back with you that would be great but I also know how hard that can be when you are on holiday. My Daughter went to New York just before Xmas but as she said time just flew by.
I think it came out great, and those color change micas are beautiful (I clearly need to buy them now) but what was the massive purchase mistake? I feel like I missed it lol
It was a massive mistake in purchasing this mould. Don’t do it 😂😂😂😂 Honestly it really did annoy me. My self confidence took a hit and that was massive too. I really wanted to emphasise how a bad purchase can knock you back 🥲💜
Thank you Beverly 😀😀 I know I shouldn’t have let it get to me but when you have precious little time to create , the time it would have taken to start over was more frustrating 😂😂😂 hope that makes sense 🤔 Anyway thank you 💜
If only it was that simple 😂😂 The shape of the barbs on the blade would have been opposite sides as it wasn’t a straight blade 😂😂 But thanks for thinking about it and sharing your thoughts 😀😀💜💜🥰
