Enough for tonight: it is almost midnight. Paused at 16:56 Thank you so much for this interview with this very special man. The work he and others have been doing for decades is simply precious. And it is interesting and heart-wrenching to hear ...learn ..about people like that Archbishop in Aleppo..who risk so much...even their lives to save and protect manuscripts..
Yes the story of the Archbishop in Aleppo is very special... I'm reading that manuscript now, it is translated in English... Thank you for passing by again and for your kind feedback! 🌟

Hi Sam610 thank you for your kind words! Hope to see you again at Bold Books and Bones. I'm currently preparing an episode about a book of 1000 years old written. It has recently been translated into English and I'm surprised about its content. Have a great day, stay safe and healthy! 🌟👍📚
Lieven, you’re kind of a monk yourself: a custodian of books. This interview gave me a whole new understanding of the Benedict order and the role of some monks in modern society. Thank you! Father Columba is a hero.
Hi Cluelessinsider, thank you for your kind words. Indeed there are some heroes left in these confusing times and he is one of them. Hope to have more heroes in 2021 and beyond. Happy New year! 🌟🌟🌟
An excellent and informative interview. I visited a Catholic Seminary in Birmingham (UK) when I was 16 and fascinated by mediaeval hand scribed manuscripts. I was taken to a large display room above the chapel to look at some but didn't realise they had hundreds of books of hours, prayer books etc all either in display cabinets without locks or under the cabinets in boxes bundled together like a junk shop. I doubt if 42 years later this would be the case!
Sometimes I get introduced to them by someone who things we should talk or meet. But most of the time I read about them and when I like their work, I just contact them...
