Wagashi - a type of Japanese traditional Art that focus around the beauty in the way food is represented. This video will focus on how the artisans can transform a piece of sugar to life.
Through the quick yet accurate hand of the artisan, using only a piece of scissor and a piece of softened sugar, they are able to turn them alive into animal-shaped masterpieces.
The in the beginning of the video, the artist soften the sugar and make them opaque by continuosly mix them together by 2 piece of chopsticks and start to shape them using a scissor. The process continues until the piece of sugar hardened and ready to be transfer to the next station for the final step- coloring.
Another artisans will carefully paint on the details of these animals to give them a more realistic look. Most people worries that the candies cannot be eaten as there are paints on them. However, these colors are food coloring and is 100% safe to consume.

that was awesome! the dexterity and precision with those scissors, the way the fins were made, so cool. all finished off with a perfect coloring job.
