Definitely check out the live version of "Cumin' Atcha Live," which I believe was recorded at this same show. One of, if not the best, dual guitar jams you'll ever see...😎🎸

A bunch of songs they didn't do singles for are also amazing like Freedom Slaves, The Partys Over and Song & Emotion, their tribute to Steve Clark of Def Leppard after he passed away.

Most people never mention Freedom Slaves. Well played!

TESLA did in fact take a 10 year break from 1994 to 2004, during the so-called "Death of Rock/Metal" era of the 90s. (Boy were those some dark times for us 80s Metalheads). But their original run from 1986 to 1994 put out 4 great albums: Mechanical Resonance (1986), The Great Radio Controversy (1989), Pschotic Supper (1991), and Bust a Nut (1994). Like most 80s bands that leaned more towards just Hard Rock or Hair Metal, they essentially called it quits when Grunge and Alt Rock took over from 1992-1997. But when true 80s style Metal started making a comeback in the late 90s and early 2000s, many of those old 80s Rock and Metal bands reunited or reformed at least to a certain degree, and started putting out albums again. So with TESLA, they started back up again in 2004 with Into the Now. Then in 2007, they released two separate but very similar Covers albums called Real to Reel & Real to Reel 2. In 2008, they released Forever More. In 2011, they released an acoustics album of some of gheir older hits. Then in 2014 they released Simplicity, and finally in 2019, they released Shock. However they've released 8, count 'em 8 Live albums. Some of which are complete performances of their earlier classic material. But with regards to my history with the band, they debuted in Dec. 1986 during my 8th Grade year. But i didn't hear about them until the Fall of 1987 as I was starting High School, when a local rock band, who had members from our school that had just graduated or were Seniors that year, played a set in front of the school down at our football stadium which included Suzie Q, a song off Tesla's debut album. Thought it sounded pretty cool, so i sought out that album and got it on cassette. Played the heck out of that tape too. Great album. However like i alluded to above, by the time Bust a Nut came out in 1994, thecmusic industry had moved on from 80s style Hard Rock, and so did a lot of fans. My tastes had changed by then too as i was into my 3rd or 4th year of college, and lost interest in the band. Bust a Nut wasn't bad, it just didn't have the same gusto as the first three albums did. But here's the crazy part about this band. They have the same original line-up except the guitar player with the funny little hat. He's new as of 2006 when Tommy Skeoch quit. So he's been with them ever since right after their comeback album more or less. And his decor fits right in with the band's moniker as a blue collar rock band. Jeff Keith, the vocalist's day job is, or at least was, a Truck Driver.

You should try songs from their 1st album Mechanical Resonance, like Comin' atcha live or EZ come EZ go. Totally different sound. Still my favorite of their albums.

You guys should check out "Got No Shame" by Brother Cane. It's a rocking song from the early 90s featuring kick-ass guitars, cow bell, and harmonica. Don't be afraid!

i was 16 years old when this song came out on MTV and later that year I seen them open up for Def Leppard. The one from the video for Pour Some Sugar On Me. Been one of my top 3 bands since

Good stuff guys, glad you liked it. You've now done both of their most popular songs I believe, this one being their first ever single and then Love Song. You also did Song and Emotion as well. To answer your question, yes they took a break. They broke up in 1995 and reformed in 2000. Don't worry, they have a huge catalog with tons of great songs, these were just the mainstream popular songs. And to be honest, this isn't my favorite vocal performance of his. He sounds better than that now IMO.

When Jeff Keith is on, he is still really on. I saw some live footage from some years ago when he was a bit hit and miss, but then they came out with the Shock album and it sounded great.

Signs and Love Song were probably their most popular. They have lots of good stuff and amazing covers.

I think might be the only Tesla fan that really dislikes their acoustic stuff, though it seems like you guys especially Cullen might share my views. Their most popular stuff isn't likely going to be the stuff that you like. I'd suggest the songs from Mechanical Resonance like in my other post.

Dude, Modern Day Cowboy IS off of Mechanical Resonance. It's their very first single, ever.
@spectreharlequin
@spectreharlequin Год назад
@timothymiller3838 of course I know that. Cullen disliked their acoustic stuff and liked this style more so I am encouraging them to listen to more from Mechanical Resonance. He also didn't like Love Song.
@timothymiller3838

@@spectreharlequin Ok. Well he didn't really remember the last one they did which he said he liked. That was Song and Emotion, with no acoustic. The only other one they did was Love Song which for some reason, the official video omits the dual acoustic guitar intro. It sounded like you meant that they haven't done anything from Mechanical Resonance yet. Just the way it sounded to me. No worries though, the important thing is, we all love TESLA! \m/
