A Neighbor Had OVERGROWN Edges - I Did it for FREE!

I drove past a neighbors house and saw their lawn could use some help, especially edging. My Ryobi 40v carbon fiber shaft trimmer with IDECH Power Rotary Scissors did the job!
I knocked on the door and asked if I could mow the lawn and found out the edging hadn't been done in at least 10 years.
It feels great to help someone, especially in your own neighborhood. The Bible tells us to love thy neighbor and that is where you should start. Do something nice for someone today. If it is mowing tall grass, so be it. Make it happen and get after it!
As always, 100% Ryobi 40v battery powered lawn equipment is used. No Exmark. No Toro. No Hustler. No trips to the gas station using your gas buddy app. Pop a battery in and go!

I was proud of the overgrown edges on this project after I was done. I started doing a running clock so viewers can see the real time it takes to do these type of jobs. Let me know what you think!
@girlsgonepicking
@girlsgonepicking 2 года назад
It looked super clean on the edges. Also love the fact that you bag the clippings. I agree that other videos I’ve seen where they leave the clippings not mulched down looks terrible. I personally liked the running clock, just not the noise. You’re definitely on point and at the top of the lawn game! Great video!

@@hollyrichards6714 - Thank you, Holly. I can update the description with links to everything I use, no problem. The Power Rotary Scissors are good for trimming if you mow short. Not as good if you mow 3” and above. They are great for edging!

You worked very hard on this lawn!!! What a difference this truly makes. Thank you! I agree with you on the mowing job your talking about. Put the work in and put your name on it. Do a 100% job or don't do the job at all. Thank you for all your hard work!!!! It truly shows that you care about your work.

I appreciate the feedback. I've been going back and forth on which direction I wanted to go with the channel. 1) Keep doing what I am doing and being me (making things lighthearted and some commentary) or 2) Going with the trend of just working while mowing overgrown lawns. Comments like yours solidifies my decision to be me and keep doing what I know the OG subscribers subscribed to this channel for. Thank you very much, Marc.

Don’t let yourself be discouraged by a lack of “Comments” to your videos. Satan likes to make people feel irrelevant. He (Satan) likes to hit you when you are at your weakest by sickness, exhaustion, adverse working conditions, etc. I am glad to see Scripture quotes on your channel. I think what drew me to your channel is that you use electric equipment. I use electric equipment on my lawn and every time I'm out doing my lawn someone stops me and asks about my equipment but then adds something about how electric is ok for a small lawn but it wouldn't work on a larger yard. Then I go to youtube and show them videos like yours. Shuts them up every time lol

You would also be pretty good at doing product/fert reviews. I think the average Joe who doesn't want to throw a lot of wasteful spending would appreciate it. One more thing and it's a bit dicey. You might want to be a bit sensitive that not all of your subs are Christian and want to be preached to. I know how much your religion means to you and your family but most folks watching just want to view landscaping tips and tricks...my 2 centavos anyways.
@TheBitsonEffect
@TheBitsonEffect 2 года назад
Your 2 centavos is noted, even the dicey stuff. I understand what you are saying and I appreciate how you approached it. I never want to force my faith on anyone, and I believe there are still ways I can incorporate and not alienate those that only want the tips and tricks.

Word of advice (you probably don't want to hear) Don't use your channel to complain. We like to watch people mow lawns. We know they make money from youtube. I suffer from OCD (somewhat) If I watch one of the channels you are describing, I will leave. I was taught to do a good job or don't do it at all. I was also watching the equipment you were using. I purchased an Earth Auger 40 amp (?) to plant 19 trees. It worked great. I am looking at the string trimmer. So when people watch your video's we are also looking at the landscape for our own ideas. I will continue to watch you but if the complaining continues I will quit. It causes stress in a World we don't need right now. You did a great job, leave it at that.
@TheBitsonEffect
@TheBitsonEffect 2 года назад
I have diagnosed ADHD and OCD. Lawn care has been a way to help me manage both of those. And when I see someone doing a crappy job in a profession I love, I use the arena I have been provided. I don't troll and leave negative comments on their videos, to me that is a coward. My life in the military taught me and the saying goes, These Colors Don't Run. I will stand up when I see an injustice...every...single...time. In my opinion, that's what the world needs. More men like Jesus, He wasn't a pacifist. Love thy neighbor, but turn over a table in a courtyard when you need to. I appreciate the feedback and respect your opinion, Connie. We need more vulnerability on social media though. Through my countless hours of studying what it takes to grow a RU-vid channel, vulnerability in a video is exactly what top channels have had. I'm not a complainer, (work harder, nobody cares). I'm a positive optimistic person by nature, and I'm not going to do it every week, but you may see it every once in a while.
@conniewright8080
@conniewright8080 2 года назад
@@TheBitsonEffect Fair enough. We can't fix the World that don't want to be fix. Maybe the reason for your very hard work then not feeling well was You got dehydrated. You were out in the heat for a long time. You were focused on the job and didn't realize you needed water. Probably should have had water every 1/2 hour.
