I'm just making an educated guess, but since the Pawniard evolutionary line is based on chess pieces that means Bisharp would sound similar to the bishop chess piece, like how Pawniard is a pawn, and Kingambit is obviously the king piece.

Calling it now. By Gen 11 Pawniard will have an alternate evolution line featuring a Knight-based stage 1 evolving into a Queen-based stage 2. (Obviously mirroring the Nido line.) In chess, the Queen is your greatest warrior, so I make sense it evolves from the knight. By Gen 15, it’ll have a third evolution to a rook-based stage 1 that doesn’t evolve further. (Just to complete the set.)

The alt art Gardevoir + Kirlia + Ralts are my favorite cards ever printed by the Pokemon company. They remind me of the current situation I'm in right now. When the cards were leaked my wife and I were actually planning on moving the next week so the Ralts card hit home. My wife and I are expecting our kid the last week of July so the Kirlia card also hit home. The Gardevoir card is exactly how we want to spend our days when we get older. We also look just like the characters on that card as well. It is almost too close to home for it to be real. I hope that one day I'll be able to display all three of them. Also, I'm a huge Spidops fan. I've proxied four of them for my deck. I think that Spidops is a very cool Pokemon.

I do mostly agree with being glad that hyper/rainbow rares are gone, but there are some Pokemon that I do think look really great in that rarity (the more recent SWSH sparkly one). I absolutely LOVE my Mawile VSTAR hyper rare!

The cards are better than the video game since sun and moon. But generally, since red and blue. The pokemon games in my opinion are going a little downhill in the graphics department. And it's weird because back in the day the graphics weren't an issue. I loved all the games up until Sun and moon because I respect Alola region. The graphics and the adventure in that game felt good.

He is just trolling right? Of all the new Pokemon, how can you not know Tatsugiri and Dodonzo? They have perhaps the most unique ability in 25 years of this franchise AND they are a top tier threat in VGC. Meta game defining on the level of Incenroar and Mega Kanga in past formats. It is mind blowing to me that anyone who is active in the Pokemon fanbase could be unaware of that. Even if they don't play VGC themselves surely someone among their friends does and has talked about it. AND it's a major story point in the game too! And I am not an Emboar hater, and that card you referred to is awesome. But no, Typhlosion is, hands down, the best fire starter. And that's not open to debate. Emboar is maybe 4th place. After Typhlosion, Charizard and Infernape.

the style of the new cards is kind of wanting to be honest. The full art regular pokemon are still cool, but the EX pokemon look pretty garbage to me. the rendered look is just not inspiring.
