I love the analog system. The pocket size notebooks I use for absolutely everything. That, and the fact that it has a quicker ending, which gives me a sense of not only accomplishment but also not feeling like im wasting paper. My larger notebooks sit on my desk with only half written in them. I guess I get bored with it. The small one is easy to carry, and I even draw and doodle in the smaller one by opening it up, turning it to portrait position, and voila!
This is working for me too! the pocket i use for capture, even a small planner for the week. The A5 i'm using for long form journaling, bigger planning and for my therapy sessions. I'm even remembering and achievieng more things with this instead of todo apps. But digital calaendar still a big part in this system! Thanks for all the work!
Glad to hear! Totally agree that a mix between physical & digital is the ideal system. But man it’s so hard to beat pen and paper for certain things. Thanks for watching!
I've heard people talk about Field Notes being over-priced. Sure, they're not the cheapest option, but they're so much fun! I have the Signs of Spring edition, and those notebooks are gorgeous.
Ayyy nice. Always fun to see Eric cross my subscription feed. I had been travelling the last couple of weeks so all the good notebooking habits I had been building got messed up so a good way to try and work back into it.
I love writing by hand. I'm a published poet, and this year I've been writing poetry exclusively by hand. It's been an adjustment for sure, but I aslo love it!
I think the pocket is a good idea. I usually carry my normal notebook with me everywhere... and have been doing so since 2019... I should start a new one after 5 years... but I struggle with keeping my books organized anyway... I have a journal, a general notebook, a book in which I've written down food and gratitude, another one with films and books etc. that I wanted to watch... my brain is just complicated. Does anyone have any tips for neurodivergent people?
I’ve personally been enjoying carrying an A5 sized notebook with me almost everywhere I go! Totally agree with you there. As far as having multiple notebooks goes, I wouldn’t stress too much about it. My notebooks are far from organized, and that’s okay with me. I think the act of capturing certain things is the important part, not having it perfectly organized. Because once it’s documented in a notebook, you have it forever. Hope that helps! Thanks for being here!
