I'm from the UK. I have been down with Covid and discovered your channel. I do a lot of baking and gardening. I grow my own fruits, herbs and vedge. Also have my own chickens. Take care!
I’m referring to this delicacy as “Emergency Tart” as I text hubby the imperative need to pick up blueberries on his way home from work!!! Perfectly DELIGHTFUL video of a mouth-watering recipe that we will make tonight! Our “ugly” baking pans tell the visual history of many wonderful culinary delights we have enjoyed over time. 😍
How wonderful to visit with Kevin and the blueberry tart, as with all his recipes, feels doable/approachable and gorgeous! Such a fine human being he is.
I leave out the lemon and add 1/4 teaspoon of cumin instead. Makes the purest tasting blueberry flavor. Same for all blueberry dessert dishes that ask for lemon, especially muffins! So good. Try blueberry coleslaw. Not only beautiful but tasty and add toasted cumin seeds instead of celery seed! Amazing coleslaw game. Love me some Kevin Lee Jacob!
I can very much relate to the impatience in wanting to get a taste right after baking a delectable dessert! And wow, does your blueberry tart look fantastic! Effortless, gorgeous, can't wait to give this recipe a try :) Thank you, Kevin ♥
Oh! Kevin, your strawberry Gallette and the blueberry tart are to die for! I can see that I will be spending a lot of time in my kitchen this winter! And, inviting my favourite people over tea! Thank you for sharing your these divine recipes with us! -Judy
Oh I will make that soon. I love that tart. I could almost smell the delicious blueberries as you were cooking them on your stove. Just wonderful tart and sweet. Natures most perfect fruit.
Thank you for this video and the recipes! I see another reason to grow some blueberry bushes on our property, this glorious tart!! I can't wait to make it and have everyone enjoy it with me. Thank you again for another delicious dessert (or lunch/dinner). Life is short. Eat dessert first, right! You are simply the BEST!! Take care and be safe! 😊💙🫐🙏
Oh Wow -This Looks So Yummy And I Have All The Ingredients ATM! I Have Only Been Brave Enough To Bake A Bananas Loaf Or Muffins In The Past, But You Have Shown How Easy This Is To Make. I Don't However Have The Baking Tin - Amazon Here I Come :) I Love Your Thumbnail Pic Also. Thank You For All Your Lovely Vids ❤
That looks absolutely fantastic Kevin! Thank you so much for sharing that recipe I wonder could you do that with strawberries as well and peaches? 🤔🤔🤔👨🍳
Hi Tiffany - I have recipes for a Strawberry Tart and a Nectarine Tart (nectarines and peaches are interchangeable). Just type the title of the tart in the search bar on my YT home page, and the recipe(s) will pop right up!
I also have the french rolling pin and never like the ones with the handels either, for one they are hard to clean and I don't like the edges it creates while rolling.
I tried this recipe today and have the following observations to make about the recipe notes: 1. You indicate 1/2 cups of AP flour yet you say it should be 210 grams of flour. 1 1/2 c flour is actually 180 grams not 210. When I used the 1/2 cups of flour my dough was so soft - not crumbly as you indicate it should be. I added more flour and no matter how much I added I could not get it roll out without breaking. I have never heard of putting an egg in a crust. Anyway, after throwing it out, I went back to my old tart crust and then it was fine. 2. The directions need to be clearer - that the crust must not only be dealt with first and fully cooled before you even begin with the blueberries. I spent all afternoon making this because I didn’t realize when I first started the recipe that it had to go into the freezer or fridge before baking and that added more time to the process. Anyway, hopefully the end result will be good but it took forever to get there. Definitely not as easy as you made it look or the time that one perceives it will take when watching the video.
