As a New Yorker, M's talk about the bethesda fountain is real. I lived up in Spanish Harlem for a few years and walked past the Harlem Meer almost every day. It was a source of a lot of inspiration and comfort for me while going to school. Central Park is a truly magical place. Aaaaahhh the whole do vampires appear in photos thing has me shook. Vampires in classical folklore don't appear in mirrors because mirrors at the time had thin sheets of silver behind them. So vampires in a modern setting would appear in mirrors and should appear in photos unless the phone/camera contains silver

I truly love this campaign. I've played a lot of table top rpgs over the years, and this is one of the best stories I have ever seen/heard. Your whole table is awesome, D20!

I just love how their characters consistently try to choose the kindest options (even during fantasy high as well)

Birds can eat bread fine, particularly if it's old and stale, and/or the yeast is inactive / dead. If it's a particularly yeasty bread that can definitely cause problems. Like, don't feed raw bread dough to birds. Rice is commonly believe to be the issue due to the possibility of Alka Seltzer-like stomach exploding, which is why birdseed was swapped out for weddings in place of rice, but it really doesn't work that way... or, at least not on the scale people were worried about. Birdseed is a healthier alternative though, for the birds.

Pause for history! There is actually a common misconception of why the original reason vampires had reflection issues. The reason they couldn't see their reflection in mirrors is because mirrors were made of polished silver or a sheet of glass which had the back coated in silver which (being a "pure" metal) reacts to supernatural creatures. Later, they couldn't be seen in photographs due to the silver salts used in film. Another early interpretation of why mirrors didn't work is that the mirrors reflected the soul (which is the origin of breaking mirrors being bad luck, the covering of mirrors during funerals to avoid trapping the soul of the deceased, and not letting babies look in a mirror because they were too young and might lose their soul for good). So! With this new image of how vampires work in mind, the question is could a phone have a pure metal in it that would make a vampire invisible (or would we have to rely on the soulless interpretation for the phone idea to work)? The answer is... yes! A quick search and scan of a few academic papers shows a typical smartphone in 2005 contained 340 to 350mg of silver (for printed circuit boards, capacitors, and resistors). More recent smartphones have around 300mg of silver. Even regular moble phones have 250mg of silver! That's not even counting the other pure metals used in making a phone. So even if the photo is taken with the most bottom of the barrel used mobile phone, it will still fall under the issue vampires have with silver. However, a vampire having a reflection in a modern mirror would depend on if the mirror was coated with metal and what metal was used ^_^ Other vampire fun facts: Early vampires were also OCD, such as being unable to resist counting tossed seeds (such as poppy seeds or grains of rice) and able to untie any knot. They were also plump or even bloated and their skin was ruddy, dark, or purplish (especially after a meal). They fed on vital forces of the living which was harvested through blood (and sometimes flesh as well depending on the story or culture), qi/life essence, or murder depending on the culture and area the story came from. 37. Not gonna lie, if someone set up a campaign like this online, I'd join it 100%. The idea of a modern world with a sort of 'underworld' of magic is super cool!
