Eternatus is truly chad behaviour: - Not in any SWSH promo material - Game comes out and is an absurd final boss with outrageous stats - Its main form is just a textbook good legendary, nothing busted just pretty solid - 1st true poison type legendary (Nihilego is an Ultra Beast) - Hasn’t made huge waves but just kinda vibes being cool Truly the pinnacle of cool underrated legendaries
@@ElectricWindGirlFriend I like that like Deoxys it's a very alien design, but a different kind of alien. I really was surprised I liked Eternatus that much.
Tera made some Pokémon viable while making ridiculous Pokémon borderline broken. It would be smart to nerf the calyrex signature move by 10 dmg. I love using Eternatus, but as you’ve stated. It has a useless ability.
I would really like it if they made support legendary. It feels like they have shallow move pools, like *almost* every legendary is made to be an offensive pokemon.
I think Alex Underhill put it that it’s hard to justify using a Pokémon in a single restricted format that doesn’t have a $90 move, ie a high powered spread move usually from a DLC mon
Fun fact: Kyurem-White doesnt actually get glaciate (showdown says otherwise) while base form Kyurem does. The 10 extra power goes a long way with a base 170 special attack but unfortunately it’s stuck with icy wind. In double restricted i could see kyurem being a reliable partner for secondary speed control and just sad it doesnt get its own signature move.
I love the simple but accurate reminder that Lugia's bulk being 106/130/156 is pretty fucked up, yeah. The wall is crazy but Psychic Flying just doesnt cut it these days. I feel like Dark and Ice types have just been getting better and better, or at least much better reps for the type. Follow that up with the ridiculous bunch of Ghost types that have been around recently and it makes sense that Tera or die starts to become the case despite that incredible bulk. Especially the fact that like 3 of the last 4 crazy strong legendaries have stab super effective, with Miraidon, and both Calyrex forms.
Just gotta say, the slides on this power point have been just so on point in particular for this vid. Absolute perfection, with the Strong People/ Weak People with Miraidon/ Lugia and the clipart with Incineroar and Comfey on the last slide *Chef's Kiss*
@@ElectricWindGirlFriend Oh, I love it. Maybe the lack of confidence is what gave it that Peak PowerPoint Presentation energy? It feels like you're trying to jam in as much content in each slide, which is great in that I sometimes have to pause to laugh because you have so many jokes in there. But you still have the PowerPoint gimmick, and ITS A GOOD GIMMICK. I think its totally safe to just slap on some pokemon onto office/business imagery because its funny. I've also had to preview way too many slides for a Scientist-turned-biotech family member, so I may be very easily amused by any subversion of these tropes...
@@ElectricWindGirlFriend feel free to die on that hill but I checked the movie, it’s definitely kyu-rem. And yeah, no t on the second syllable in conducive.
Fun fact: W-Kyurem has the closest to a perfect Super Effective Moveset, only rival being G-Mime/MrRime of all things... ·Freeze-Dry ·Shadow Ball ·Focus -Miss- Blast ·Earth Power (G-Mime/MrRime have to use Stomping Tantrum or HP-Ground) Hitting a massive 1032 Existing Pokemon Super Effectively, and only 160 hit for Neutral Damage (that's 86.7% of the game taking hits Super Effectively) with 0 Not Very Effective or Immune Opponents! (I'm by no means the one who found all this, RU-vid just usually blocks comments that state sources)
If this is all about restricted mons in VGC, one thing people arent taking advantage of is weakness policy too boost Eternatus over meteor beam. Pair with defensive or sp defensive utility gliscor with no atk investment EQ or something that runs bulldoze and when Eternas gets hit after using cosmic power, it hardly does nothing and now you can kill anything with your dragon poison or fire moves Ally ice shard from a weak utility mon also works too Have other teammates come in and heal it with life dew, heal pulse, pollen puff, grassy terrain etc. 1/4 grass resistance does not care about grass moves powering up lol
I have a strong temptation to try a Dragon Cheer crit spam team with every Dragon-type restricted. With Rayquaza, it would at least solve the Intimidate problem
Super happy to see Kyurem White on this list. Not too long ago my friends and i made a pokemon tournament for regulation G back in april (and i made a video about it in june) and i ended up using Kyurem White on an semi decent but probably outdated team now lol Nevertheless its a really fun pokemon to work with and i would do it again lol
Hot take, but Psychic desperately needs some sort of rework, it almost feels like a pure negative for a Mon to get the typing unless it’s super offensively minmaxxed offensively like the horses.
Should’ve spoken on Giratina. Using a screens and status spreading team with grimmsnarl and glimmora alongside the fwg core, I’ve been able to take Calm Mind Hex Giratina to top 4 on the showdown ladder. It’s Bo1 cause Bo3s are exhausting. I have faced many of the top restricteds and you actually have a good matchup into CSR, Miraidon, and if you play good enough, Terapagos. CIR Amoon is a bad mu but manageable with enough fake out support and well used turns and pivoting. Wisping your own Giratina helps. There are some weird matchups tho, funnily it has a slightly bad mu into some Groudon teams. Still think it’s worth an honorable mention, it’s so bulky and it can Tera.
ETERNATUS MENTIONED AAAAAA I'm not pulling it out right now but I swear Recover Orb Eternatus is the future, the only thing truly holding it back is not having an ability leaving it comparatively honest + straightforward Also Kyurem-White deeeefinitely wants scarf but I haven't tested it out myself yet
I feel like the more canonically powerful a legendary is, the worse it does competitively. Eternatus was so fucking powerful just the fading remnant of its power is letting pokemon dynamax in the present... and no one uses it. But the relics of ruin? Ah they were just some stuff a king had or something. Yet 3/4 of them are/were very good competitively (sorry wo-chien).
I'm so pissed that the donkeys and chihuahuas got stacked signature abilities while Eternatus got pressure?!?! I thought we were done with that. Anything else would've helped 😭
Can't wait for Malamar to Skill Swap Contrary on Iron Ball Reshiram. Thus it can spam Overheat and Draco Meteor in Trick Room. BTW I am a VGC noob. So yah who knows how viable this is but I saw the strategy work with a Hydrapple, so why not give it a try.
It's so sad that powercreep has made good ol' mixed attackers almost always the worse option, Rayquaza would be so good if they dropped irs special attack by like 40 points and gave it a bump in its speed and defenses, that versatility it once brandished has become its Achilles heel (that and the drawback of having an honest, not broken ability)
Do you like Mega Evolutions? Do you also like ultimate moves, aka Z-Moves? What about signature moves that only a singular Pokemon can know? And finally, do you feel nostalgic for Gen 1 Psychic-Type supremacy? *[BAM]* ULTRA. NECROZMA. And for your pleasure: Light That Burns The Sky. Or as they say in JAH-PANNN: *_「 HEAVEN-SCORCHING LIGHT OF DESTRUCTION 」_* It is SO extra, you WILL read all about it.
