In 1979 0r maybe 80, I was approached by a girl I had gone to HS with... she was recruiting Americans to fly to London, marry an iranian(right after the Shah had been forced out of the Country) and fly them back into the US... offered me 10K... I said NO... nope... no F'n way! I don't even attempt to be a shrewd negotiator and make a counter!

I’ve actually been on a couple cruises with the current owner of that (now blueberry wrapped) Grigio LP640. Hearing that V12 rumble through the mountains is like nothing else I’ve ever experienced combined with that big brake kit and red interior it just seals the deal. Crazy to know now that that same car has such a wild history behind it. Grateful I was able to capture some rollers of the beast.

I saw this car in Beirut 2010... and I saw it again in a "garage" in Las Vegas where I bought a different car. @Ed, give me a shout and I think I can fill in the blanks of your story!! Crazy... I was about to stick my music on until I heard "Lebanon" then looked at the car. (I was just listening) I'm new to vinwiki. If anyone knows these guys ask them to hit me up. And no I don't got any social media... but I'd like to be able to finish his story as now I hear this part I feel he would love to hear it. Peace to y'all!

Yes, the car was in Lebanon it was advertised along another LP640 (green roadster) an SLR and a phantom in a marina for a few month by yacht dealer. None of the cars sold (it was rumored that they where stolen) and they where all shipped back.

George Kartvelishvili I think that’s also a reason Ed seeks out driven vehicles. A guy that shutters his LP640 away in a garage won’t have a ridiculous story about getting stuck somewhere on a cross country drive. History is interesting, it’s valuable in its own way. It just tends to help the value go down too lol

@@theonlynontrollhere if I was looking at cars like that I'd seek out driven cars because taking a nice fresh example that has low milage and driving it would be both expensive and you'd experience some guilt. With a car that was previously enjoyed, it'd not depreciate and you'd guiltlessly enjoy it.

OMG..Im from Tyler, TX and I-20 was a major cocaine distibution route during the 80's. So when I was a kid..Long story short...after many failed attempts to catch "something invisible" that kept showing up on the State Troopers radar registering over 120mph for several nights they finally setup a running roadblock. Turns out it was a guy in a black Countach with his lights off wearing night vision with a car FULL of kilos of cocaine. LOL
