Interesting video, as usual, Chris. I looks like a nicely kept cemetery and the church is quite beautiful (I'd love to see the interior). I didn't expect to see an actual coffin/sarcophagus, though! I was expecting to find a shrine in front of a sealed wall. I wonder how I'd feel if I'd been there and really descended into the chamber. Many years ago, a friend moved from our little village to a nearby medium-sized city and when I spent a weekend in his new family home, he revealed he'd found some cool places to play our usual war games. It was the early '50s, we were 11-12 at the time, fascinated by WW2 and the Korean "Police Action" and scrambling all over the place reenacting war scenes from movies, TV, and comic books. One of his cool sites was, in his words, "a cool cave," like ones we'd seen in a couple of movies about setting up hideouts in behind the lines operations, such as "Captain Carey, U.S.A," starring Alan Ladd. It wasn't much, just a grassy hillock in the middle of a cemetery containing an underground chamber with a wall like the one I mentioned above. I had an altogether _too_ active an imagination, for after being in there only a couple of minutes, I wanted _out_ in no uncertain terms! He still kidded me about it, almost 70 years later. Stay safe, everybody.

Fr. (Prince) Gallitzin is known as The Apostle to the Alleghenies(the mountains of that region of Pennsylvania). He evangelized there in the wilds of West Central Pennsylvania. His mother was a princess from Hessen, a part now of Germany. His father was of Russian nobility. I visited that crypt a few times. Near there is Prince Gallitzin State Park. It’s a beautiful area.

How do you find out about all these interesting places you visit and their facts? I love all the stuff u share even if it's something i don't think I'd find intriguing. I'd love for you to do one on a spot in east Tennessee if you ever pass this way. It's Chilhowee Park! It's over 100 years old, and our annual fair takes place there every September. The HUGE exhibition building burned down in the late 1930s, and photos can be found of the building engulfed. A bandstand still remains in place well after 100 yrs to serve as the introduction piece to our annual fair. It's really fascinating. Not to mention, they filmed part of October Sky there.

For Pennsylvania, a church built a little over a hundred years ago isn't old. I live in a building in NYC built in 1907 and it's not unusual. Too bad Americans tend to destroy buildings of the past, which is a shame because we often erase history with it.
