From how you worded everything it definitely adds some potential for how Bayonetta 3 will pan out with its story. From the amount of uses and disruption to the flow of time, to absence of both eyes. It will be interesting to see what route they will go. BUT THANK YOU FOR THE BAYONETTA 2 LORE VID! I was looking forward to this! :D
@MarcoPolo3 Same here but it didn't take long for my to know when this video come as it already came in a couple of hours ago. I'm curious to as to see what bayonetta 3 theory will be planned
Shits gotten so messed up plot points from other games are showing up, I’m not the only one who sees parallels between some of the plots points we know of and Astral Chain am I?
I'd love for Luka to somehow manage to become a Lumen Sage in the future. If I remember correctly people aren't born witches or sages, they train to become one or the other. It would be reasonable that he could pull it off considering how determined he can be. It would be even funnier if he tried to become an Umbra witch. Could you imagine Luka wearing a skin tight hair suit like Bayonetta? That would be hilarious!
If you were born with a lot of spiritual energy you could become a mage or sage, if you have very little you would not even be considered during the time the clans were alive Luka probably has very little
Bayonetta was sealed in approximately the year 1542. Lewis Carroll was born in 1832. Bayonetta references Carroll constantly. This means that, after waking up, Bayonetta decided to catch up on all the literature that had been published in the 480 years she had been asleep.
Well 20+ years of angel slaughter has to have quite a lot of downtime. Plenty of time to cozy up with a big ol book and a lollipop by the (burning car) fire and just sponge in all of the culture
You missed the part where the baby in the stroller left one of Loki's cards for Bayonetta and the cards come raining down, possibly implying that he already reincarnated into that baby
I mean when you are the strongest, beating the shit out of other high beings just to make weapons out of them, you can manage being nonchalant about all of it.
Dude, you cannot tell me that Luka totally isn't a Lumen Sage. I mean seriously, there's a mountain where people disappear on a probably regular basis whenever they try to climb it, planes mysteriously explode, and the path to the mountain is nigh on impossible to traverse. And you're telling me, that this regular ass human with nothing but a grappling hook, easily makes it to the top without any problem? Seriously, it can't be a coincidence that this dude can ever so casually keep up with a bunch of people who have otherworldly powers with *JUST* his grappling hook.
I would say that him surviving all of this is for the gags & giggles but I wouldn’t doubt that he has some sort of power to survive all of this, though I wouldn’t really like him to be a lumen sage because: 1- that would open/help the idea that Bayonetta might marry him and gives birth from him to create a new gen Daughter, which is one of the worst concepts that are heavily used in popular stories/franchises these days. + that would also turn Bayonetta from being this iconic lesbian with her awesome girlfriend… to some wife who’s apparently bi and she’s being overshadowed by her daughter/son💀 2- I really loved the idea of having Luka as what he is right now, following his father’s legacy and being an awesome journalist, he doesn’t need to have a bigger/different role because he already got an important role in the story that fits his character
@@tgnoat910 nobody ever made bayoneta to be a lesbian. Heck she likes guys based on her own wording from the first 2 games and the movie bayoneta 1.5 the game writers/studio released. W.E they choose to do with her on 3 will HOPEFULLY still respect the story and sentiment they made in the first 2. Him being a courageous well informed well timed and actively comedic relief for the game. And she does like him ... she doesn't treat him like trash unlike her other useful pawns. So I do hope nintendo doesn't fuck this title up with their new agenda bs.
Lemme find out that Luka is like the equivalent to a Lumen an a Umbra but for the power of chaos. Left eye of darkness, right eye of light and middle eye of chaos. I’m calling it in Bayonetta 3.
I love how every single moment of this Bayonetta's life was lived in conflict, but it never concerns her because it is just a daily occurrence for her. I honestly wonder if her stay in Inferno will be lived in her causing chaos for the demons allowing for her to come back to the mortal world to help Viola with her inheritance. After all... she's not going down without a fight.
I seriously believe that the Bayonetta we saw in the Bayonetta 3 trailer is the Cereza that was sent back to her time from Bayonetta 1. Or some other version of Cereza/Bayonetta from possibly a different timeline due to the consequences of Bayonetta 2’s time meddling and erasing of the Eyes. I’m excited to see what happens! Platinum is gonna take us for a ride that is for sure ha!
Not to mention, if Cereza is in an alternate timeline, where bayo 1-2 didn't occur, both eyes still exist. Maybe, bayo 3 will have something to do with reviving said eyes 👀
@@coffeeking9565 Well in Bayonetta 1, Father Balder had the right eye while Loptr is inside him. Towards the end of Bayonetta 2, Loki destroyed the eyes and Balder absorbed Loptr, then they travelled back in time 500 years ago. How the hell did Balder regain the right eye for the events in Bayonetta 1 to occur? It's just gonna be a huge mess of explanation in Bayonetta 3. \(@_@\)
it was mentioned in the bayonetta 1 lore vid that lumen sages and umbra witches are just people or beings with a large spiritual power. so it's possible that luka in fact has some spiritual power that was only awoken when he finally was able to face the truth of this father. and of course Rodan would benefit greatly from another person who could pay for his training or items.
Well, we are at a point wherer I believe Rodin actually used to make weapons for Umbra Witches AND lumen sages since he seems to have affinity with both sides, as Father Rodin and the Infinite One. So I don't doubt that Luka is getting some tips and learning anything he can via Rodin, I wouldn't actually be surprised if Bayo 3 throws something like Luka actually training to become a Lumen Sage somehow at the end of it, since Bayo 3 will probably show what messing with the timelines constantly, a thing that Loptr loves to do, will create within the universe, but I'm sure what's happening there is something bigger than before. And who knows, maybe that "vergil' silluete we see on the end of the trailer for Bayo 3 is actually a version of Luka, he does hold Bayo's cat in his sword and she did call him Cheshire, the sword has a paw on it which resembles Lumen sages with dogs (while Umbra witches has an affinity with big cats), so who knows? I'm sure that I will buy Bayo 3 on release date just to find out without spoilers. xD
If I had to place a bet, I might say that what Umbra Witches are to Inferno and the Lumen Sages are to Paradisio, Luka is somehow becoming to Chaos. He needs glasses to see into Purgatorio becuase Purgatorio is the murky space in-between worlds, and he's still firmly grounded in one of them. He's just even *more* grounded in it than a normal person would be. There's a lot of stuff to love about Bayonetta, but one of my favorite things is the way that the lore is both fully formed and easily changed. We have a more-or-less clear picture of how the universe works, but there are so many empty spaces that could be filled without cheapening what already exists.
I was just reccomended your bayonetta 1 lore video a few days ago and it was amazing! I wasn't expecting to see one for bayonetta 2 but I'm definitely not complaining. Thanks for all your great work!
Thanks for explaining the overly complicated plot, Inferno knows no-one else would. I know its a meme to say that Bayo 3 will be Alians, but given the that the "Eyes of the World" sort of defined each realm & kept them from bleeding over into each other too much, so I have to wonder if we don't go Lovecraftian/Outer Gods for the next game.
I would love you to cover Bayonetta 3 in the future! Also, for anyone who played this game for quite some time, understands that Rodin is the most dangerous (albeit an optional boss) opponent. IMO though, I always find Balder's final form the toughest since I think he's the most prone to dodging a freakin' lot (at least in infinite climax mode). Rodin may be fast and powerful but his AI tends to tank most attacks compared to Balder and I think it's the same as well for Aesir. Human enemies in this game are annoying man. But TOTALLY loved the game anyways. Can't wait for part 3!
27:40 this moment feels so emotional, especially with the soft tone of voice you used to say "Rosa is here" you really did an amazing job at making your voice mix in with the music and tone of the scene
I'm pretty sure that somewhere in the lore books that are given to you, one says that the Umbra Witches have intercourse with a demon to make a contract with them... Which means whatever f'ed up shit you found on rule 34 is probably canon.
Considering the Jubelious vs Aesir bit, it seems that the Bayo series loves fucking around with teh idea of timelines (which should have been obvious with many instances in both games, but talking more in a grand meta narrative sense). Honestly, I can see the 3rd Bayonetta taking place in yet another timeline of a different origin story and the consequences of the two previous timelines starts mucking things up
I suspect a lumen sage could only disguise themself as an imbecile if they truly wished to conceal their identity from an umber witch. I’m also a fan of the theory of Luka being to chaos what the umber witches were to Inferno and the sages were to Paradiso. I do want to throw in a theory about Luka becoming a sort of counter balance to Bayonetta. While it’s true the eyes of the world are meant to balance each other, Bayonetta is something else, something new. She is an intersection of light and dark. The witches and sages balanced each other. I wonder if on some level Luka has become a new counterbalance to Bayonetta. They both seem to grow in power in relation to each other. I wonder if through their journeys in relation to each other Luka made himself the counterbalance or better yet, Bayonetta unconsciously chose him as such. Just my own little theory to throw on the bandwagon.
What the hell. I just watched your bayonetta videos and I noticed you have 10k subs, damn I noticed this video has less than 100k views! I am shocked, because I can't express how good these videos were, you were straight to the point with some humor, your explanations were so clear, your voice is wonderful to hear and I can't imagine the work put into these videos! I'll definitely binge watch more into the future but I truly wanted to say so much I enjoyed watching them, and I only saw two, hopefully you'll have the recognition you really deserve in the near future! Please, keep up the good work and thank you for this content! PS: What's your theory for what will go on in Bayonetta 3?
I think for banana 3 there's gonna be a timeline difference in a different dimension where bayonetta has the eyes of the world and she learns how to use them Because I believe Bayonetta in part 3 is actually seraza the from part one grown up stronger because Bayonetta told her not to cry
Also I noticed something Balder can summon higher ranking Laguna with his feathers or whatever else. He just calls them forward. While Bayonetta when summoning an Infernal, she has to *pull it out of Inferno.* I mean I may be thinking on it too much, but it's interesting seeing how much force (or lack of) is used for Sages and Witches with summoning.
Your voiceover work for this video and the first was just stellar! It felt like I was listening to an Umbra Witch share the tales of Cereza. Great work! Subscribed :D
Please say your gonna do the DMC series. Your videos are so amazingly well thought out. I really like the way you put all the info into chronological order. And telling it as a story is a really smart way to get this info across. Keep up the awesome work
Thank you so much! And DMC is 100% absolutely on the list of lore projects. There are a few big boys to get through first, but one of these days I have a date with Dante.
A great summary (I watched the first one too). I can say that I was impressed when I played it that they managed to do a time-travel plot that *prettyy much* felt coherent. It's such a tight-rope to walk, but they did well
I got to admit the reason I didn't play the second game is I just didn't like the ending to the first game but actually seeing how they link the story from the first game to the second game and how the father was corrupted makes a lot more sense now
Honestly, I was a bit unsure when I first watched your Bayonetta 1 lore video. Through no fault of your own, but I'm just really particular about what kinds of voices I can listen to without getting very irritated. However, your flair for dramatic phrasing, the hints of snark (and don't think I missed the TSFH music in here), you've 100% won me over. So, I'mma finish this video, then binge the rest of your content
You do such an awesome job with these videos. I can't wait till you try bayo 3 and realize how close yet so far some of these things are I hope your day turns out to be an awesome one
I think it even funnier note Santa is the king of hell and well he's black which I think would probably have said some Christians more than the fact that it's basically the devil dressing up as Santa
My good friend loves Bayonetta and we were both simping for big tall ladies and I decided to watch this video and the previous one bc I haven't played the games yet and this convinced me to pick it up someday!
I found part 1 by accident and then autoplay brought me here and I got rly excited. 🤩 I love these games and their stories but suck at playing so videos like these make me happy that I can enjoy the story and characters even if I'm an awful gamer Ive always thought bayonneta sounded rly cool now I know how much so thanks to you 😉 🧡🦇
I really have loved your Bayonetta Lore series i feel like you really fit the vibe and attitude that is the Bayonetta series, which has always been my favorite part of the games.
I found you from your first Bayonetta video cause I wanted to send it to a friend before I even got to watch it. I watched that one video and I was hooked 😭 your videos are amazing and you have phenomenal delivery 💕 I've been binging them while I do work and play games for the past 3 days
we have comfirmation that Cereza will get a 3rd game there´s a teaser out what will it bring to the lore is still unknown but i hope you can do a lore for that game once you can manage
