it sucks knowing that animations like this are seriously underappreciated in the grand scheme of the sfm community, keep up the outstanding work my guy because this is frickin amazing
@@MachoBoyANIM probably one of the most based responses i've seen from an artist on this sight not in it for the fame or gain just the skill raw shit man.
I remember experiencing this blind for the first time when greed first dropped, happy that you managed to capture that feeling of hype when dueling v2 while sliding down the pyramid
i never really knew anything about ultra kill i just knew it was really good but holly shit it is one of the funniest games ever and now im trying to get all the secrets. Edit: I have p-ranked ever level except p-2 on the grind to try and get it
I keep finding new crazy details every time I watch this. V2's leg shooting straight up in response to V1's first shot and crashing down to lead into the turnaround, the gigantic exaggerations in the parry, the unbelievably sick coin toss movements, you had so much fun pushing this to its absolute limit and it shows in every frame. fucking phenomenal
I like how u used their wings correctly, also a note, when u defeat v2 on that slide in the game, his wings disappear as if they were destroyed. That could explain why he didn't had any balance while he was in the air and why his legs where not ready for the impact.
@@danksorcerer-xe2gd yes, but in the lore it also says the wings are used for movement too. It's how they can do unnatural things like dash in midair, slide indefinitely, not take fall damage, etc.
there is SO much personality in just these 20 seconds of animation. V2's fear and desperation to get away, V1's. confidence and supreme perception, and that final shot of the coin revolver was just 💋👌. Incredible job, and I hope this video gets the recognition it truly deserves.
Holy shit this is fuckin sick. I had to rewatch at 0.25 speed to catch all the cool stuff. And that shot where V1 and V2 both shoot their revolvers and the bullets block one another? Holy shit.
Besides the fact that everything in this Animation is sick as heck, I love how you captured the erratic action that occurs in this game while still keeping it clear to understand. Also, was V1 "punch to the camera" a parry attempt to V2's Shotgun ?
V2 had already shot his Shotgun and was pumping it when V1 missed a punch, so i think V1 wanted to straight up deliver those hands rather than parrying. However he parries a core eject from V2 after they both shot their revolvers at the same time
@@sunnyyy1437 after reading your comment, I was able to understand what was happening. Before my brain couldn't even comprehend in slow-mo. I shall thank you for making my brain work.
The 180 degrees turn in V2's head is just perfect V2 expected to scape without begin followed by V1 but has every player thought "NOT THIS TIME!" That turn was just perfect, animators often forget that they are animating literall robots and they can bend in really unusual and unnatural ways So yea pretty cool job mate!
Man this is way too good. Had to rewatch it several times to really appreciate all the moves and work put into it, and still am not sure if that was enough
I know I commented this on twitter, but I gotta say it again. I ADORE those poses and camera angles. I wish more animators did something on that level of creative.
been getting into SFM and this animation really is incredible! the character movement, sound, camera, etc. Is just so perfectly combined to make this 20 second clip!
This is amazing. The smooth animation, the used of game mechanics like the parry and coin chaining as part of the fight, it's all so good. I love this video and if you ever make more animations like this, I'm sure I'll love them too.
I like when people do a single camera moving around (as shown in the video) rather than the constant jumps between different camera angles you see in movies. I always find the constant cuts confusing and hard to keep up with compared to this type of stuff, so good job
Feels great to see someone say this too, I hate constant jump cuts. I know its very hard to make smooth camera movements like this work but I really wish more animations and movies did it, it's way better than a ssshitstorm of changing points of view every other secobd.
Nice sfm my guy! I've always enjoyed movement that seemed clunky but somehow is very pleasing to watch, if that makes sense. I've planned to get into sfm soon but I don't know what software to use.
This looks amazing. the vibe, the choreography, the smoothness. You should feel proud of this one. I personally find the particles a little distracting but it's still amazing.
Don’t take me wrong, the animation was amazing! Although I think that the ricochet at the end would had had more impact if it used the railgun instead of the pistol, since it would end the battle with a blast.
DAAAMN, THATS SICK. i feel like if this was synced up to some music and used more "stop-motion-esque" style animation for the robots themselves, with choppy and jarring movement, it'd be really sweet, one song in particular feels like itd fit really well for me, "i wanna be a machine" by the living tombstone. id pay big money to see something like that happen.
Hey weird question, was skiing your inspiration for this scene? I can't help but notice the immense similarities in movements. Very cool animation though!!!
I watched this in .25 speed, and here’s what I gathered. - V2 fires at V1 with the Piercer, and it misses - V1 fires at V2 with the same weapon (non-Slab Revolver variant, for some reason) and it collided with a shot fired by V2 with the Piercer. - V2 pulls out the Core-eject, but doesn’t have time to fire due to V1 coming at V2 with a punch which misses due to V2 jumping out of the way, which V1 is surprised by - V2 fires the Piercer while in the air, which hits a shot fired by V1 with the same weapon - V2 fires a shot from the Core-eject, which V1 parries, hitting V2, sending V2 tumbling for a few seconds, which is just enough time for V1 to take out the Marksman, throw 3 coins in the air, and shoot them with the Marksman - The shot from the Marksman causes, what I can only assume to be, a malfunction in V2’s system, causing it’s back to explode, sending it off the pyramid like the idiot it is, screeching all the way down
U really captured the feeling of a duel between 2 speed demon ROBOTS. Not 2 people the movements aren’t exaggerated except for where they count. Fucking flawless.
I so dearly want the actual game to feature this at the end of depleting v2's health bar. I know the game is fast paced and is meant to have no stops, but I wish it took time to feature psx like cutscenes where it just pauses the game fades to black for a minute and mimics that feeling of those akward cutscenes but still have this high quality its hard to explain ive watched this about 50 times now it feels like the fight and also looks like something you'd see in devil may cry 3 or 4
0:09 and 0:14 are both good wallpaper ideas. (since youtube doesn't support interval time selections i have to say that the first one is when V1 and V2 are pointing their guns are each other and the second is when the ricochet forms a triangle.)
I don’t have the word to describe it but the way you animated the movement fits well with the “mood” of the game. Good job hope to see more of your animation in the future
This is the type of fighting i like in any fighting media like movies and anime, realistically short and very detailed, i want people to not know what the fuvk just happened because it's not normal people fighting, it's two mfing God killers.
ho ly shit everything from v2 kicking v1's first shot, v1 punching v2's shotgun, the bullets clashing, v1 punching the shotgun's core eject back into v2 and not even mentioning the sick triple coin toss at the end, there are so many details and blink and you miss it moments its astonishing commendations to the animator
I'm kinda sad that V2 actually died. I was expecting him to be a constant Rival. Facing us with more weapons like our own, and showing off more advanced techniques. Unless he didn't die...
*Kinda confused on where the glowing hot sand dune is. Honestly, I completely understand that the background isn't the focus for this animation, but that is not a detail that should be overlooked. You can do better.*
I agree, a looping sand texture for the terrain below would be a cherry on top of this piece. Unfortunately there weren't any sand textures with a high enough resolution to use with the terrain.
