The baby in reality probably liked the little box. It’s warm, dark, and cozy just like mamas womb. So it seems cruel to us but the baby is probably chillin 😂.
Emily blunt during that delivery scene I don’t think y’all understand in real life just how hard that it is and, the fact she was able to wait until those fireworks went off to push👏🏾👏🏾
John Krasinski told a story in an interview once about how a TSA agent was extremely incredulous he's married to Emily Blunt. Maybe it's just me, but I think they're evenly matched on the hotness scale.
I'll be honest, I was way late to watch the Office, was still on earlyish seasons when I saw this, and a SWITCH WAS FLIPPED. He maybe has hidden the hotness in a previous life, is what I'm saying.
Iv been putting off watching this since I heard about how scary it was but watching but with with zuff random comments were giving me comedic relief like him saying little son got whacked got me crying laughing 😂 great reaction guys
THIS WAS ONE OF THEE BEST THEATER EXPERIENCES!! I feel it was much better watching it in an ultra quiet theater where you could hear a pin drop instead of at home where people JUST WONT SHUT UP OR STOP MAKING NOISES! Lol.
This is a great movie! Received near universal praise! When audiences saw the film premiere on its opening day, I heard that they remain silent till the very end, then they got up and applauded.
John did in fact direct it, but it was not his debut. He has done two movies before this. His debut was "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men" in 2009 and got mixed-to-low reviews. His next film, "The Hollars" was released in 2016 and also got fairly mixed reception. They were both more dramatic-comedies. In between the two, he also wrote "Promised Land" with Matt Damon.
16:18 Bryce speaking/hypothesising, about evolutionary adaptions for infants isn’t so bizarre. In fact it is a very valid point to ponder. We are currently the “apex” mammal (to an extent) on the planet, so we have no need to be silent or mask anything. If the roles are reversed however, things change rather drastically. We already see nods to this instinct today with a lot of non predatory mammals. Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffes etc, are all typically mute or very quiet at birth. This is purely one of many adaptations to avoid detection by predators. Some mammals (both carnivore and herbivore) will even eat their placenta to further eliminate any potential risk.
This movie did a fantastic job at making me hold my breath in certain scenes without even realizing it. Krasinski hit it out of the park with this. Great casting, tension, soundtrack, etc. 17:49, the markings on the floor aren't sand; they appear to be tape/paint to mark the places where the wood floor doesn't creak.
I always wondered what if they had to sneeze, burp or pass gas. What if Emily’s character had morning sickness. Like our bodies aren’t that quiet all on their own 😂
Imagine watching this in the theater & EVERYONE is SILENT - you really don't even hear anyone munching on snacks bc of the tension & quiet... & then an ALARM WENT OFF ON SOMEONE'S PHONE!!! 😮
I couldn't imagine having to live in this world having to lay down sand over and over as it gets washed away by rain so you have a safe path to walk again. My friend watched it in theaters and he said he need to fart the entire movie and was scared he was going to make noise, because everyone's actions in the theater just became quiet. He even said people stopped eating popcorn and stuff.
This movie brings back funny moments to me. My brother in law had played this movie for us because we haven’t seen it yet. In this movie nobody talks, so when we got to scene where dad takes his son behind the waterfall to talk. Turns out, we’ve been watching the movie in a foreign language the whole time 😂😂😂
I love this movie, the most nerve wrecking moment for me when she was in labor and gave birth, that was so intense!! Love your reaction and waiting for part 2 reaction
Lol. They said in TVD “turning on the water is gonna stop vampires from hearing y’all? I don’t think so” or something along those lines & then this movie happens … that one waterfall scene 😭
The actress that played the daughter is deaf in real life, they learned sign language for her! I like this movie and the 2nd one I can’t wait for the 3rd!
16:18 I personally didn’t cry when I was born my mom told me they literally had to wake me up lol. not EVERY baby automatically cries when born I think that’s more of a movie thing tbh (I don’t have kids🤷🏾♀️) not 100% but I think doctors get that first cry out most of the time.
I love both actors and its so cool he directed this and are married in real life also the girl who plays the daughter is deaf in real life she did so good in this. ❤❤🙂
Definitely! I was so happy to see her finally get her long overdue Oscar nomination for Oppenheimer this year, she’s given so many great and deserving performances including this one! While she wasn’t Oscar-nominated for A Quiet Place, she did win a major award during that year’s awards season, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for Best Supporting Actress!
I don’t watch these kinds of movies at all but when it got really big during the pandemic, when it came out, I caved because you know what else was I gonna do at that time so I watched it and loved it! I was so surprised because like I said I never watch this kind of thing. I watched part 2 as soon as it came on streaming and really liked that too
15:58. honestly yes i think so. if humans genuinely found a way to survive for centuries and centuries being completely silent eventually babies would probably come out with different kinds of vocal cords or maybe none. ( if that’s possible ) and the human race would become mute to adapt.
Actually, infections in the foot due to nails or cuts used to be such a big lethal injury. The foot is so low to the ground and ao much dirt and filth and bacteria can get into it so fast.
I remember the first time my kids and I watched this we were at my boyfriend’s house. Then we get in the car and my son slammed the door and we all freaked out for a second because it was dead quiet until the door slammed
This movie was a true experience watching it in the theaters. Having silence be the main "sound" of the movie was quite unnerving. You get used to it, but like Bryce said, every little noise makes you jump. It also made you feel on edge because the theater was so quiet that you, as a moviegoer, felt the need to stay still and quiet so as not to disturb the movie, and that added to the whole experience. There are some movies that stand out to me for being memorable at the theater, but being at the theater for this one probably had the most direct impact on how I viewed it and how I felt watching it there instead of at home.
also, when i went and saw it in theatre, the whole theatre was silent, it was the quietest theatre experience i've ever had, no one wanted to even eat the popcorn,it was hilarious, and fun
Watching this movie in gheaters was a blast. I went opening weekend, it was completely packed, but it was the QUIETEST theater experience I have ever had. Everyone was too afraid to eat their snacks because of the noise. I walked back out with a still full bucket of popcorn. 😂
You are by far my favorite reactors on RU-vid regarding movies and TV shows ! I laugh with you, I cry with you (specially with Bryce haha) and I appreciate your comments and your perspectives Thank you and love from Paris :)
So just to clear something up it's not high frequency sounds that disorientates the Death Angels since Regan has a cochlear implant which don't produce sound it's just presented to us as a high pitched whine so that way we know what's happening outside of Regan's and the Alien's perspective no one hears anything so it's more like an electromagnetic reverb creating a feedback loop
These movies are brilliant. Brilliant filmed, brilliantly written and show how what you can do with a small dialogue script. I love that John Krasinski stars a true deaf signing actress. The behind the scenes are amazing. Looking forward to movie number 3. Also adding Cillian Murphy in movie 2 is amazing as hell. I love the story of Emily Blunt recommending women for the role of the wife until she read the script on a plane and said, I have to do this. ❤❤❤❤ movie 3 is the prequel of day zero etc. can’t wait. Looking forward to you watching them all.
Two things that bothered me: Why did they let their baby child bring up the rear on their trek home? He should have been somewhere between his parents. And secondly, this child must have been either really lucky or really smart. He was able to get those batteries in there the correct way to make the rocket work.
I'm not horror fan (scaredy cat here) but, I like knowing the story's so watching you react to this one is a good way to see the movie wihout scaring myself.
This movie makes me think what if you have a cold like I do right now and you have a bad cough or sneeze out of nowhere. Also farting and when you go to the bathroom and snoring. If you snore you are dead.
