IIRC, my friend who was going to school to be a therapist told me that, unless there's active abuse or its a dangerous situation, very very rarely do they just openly tell someone to break up with their partner, even if they think its for the best. Usually its sort of lead in that direction, but ultimately has to be the person's choice.

He's obviously very controlling and manipulative. He wanted to leave on his terms and had to be threatened with trespassing and yelled at. Used to getting his way and his girlfriend lets him or is too scared to back down because she looked scared with his arm around her leading her around and not letting her say goodbye to the other girls. Concerning to say the least. Hope she ditched his sorry ass.

I don't even know if she's intending to stay with him. She might have just been doing him a solid. Probably not though because he's super abusive and controlling and it can be near impossible to get out of those relationships when you've been broken down like that. I'm hoping she left him right after filming. I guess we will see at the reunion!

Absolutely fucking chilling. Especially him demanding “say you love me. Say you love me!” under his breath so the cameras wouldn’t hear. The fact that she seemed so desperate to just pacify him and calm the situation by any means necessary. It’s pretty clear that she was just trying to placate him so she didn’t get hurt. Because I believe it has happened before. Truly haunting.

That’s one issue with with this show I noticed last season too, sometimes the couples who really need help/might need an escape route, are the ones who have to leave, and then don’t get any sort of therapy or follow up if the girl goes with him. This guy was clearly manipulative, but that’s what makes him the sort of person where the partner would stay, even though he’s the one who realllly needs to be avoided.

Poor Jamie. She seemed so beaten down! "You're embarrassing me." "You're making me look so bad." "This could destroy the rest of my life." He seems so abusive, just from what was caught on the cameras. I can't imagine what their home life is like for her. I really hope she found a way out of that relationship.

Most of these men have abusive behavior. I think this is the scariest behavior, but they all seem to be emotionally abusive.

Him being in a room full of men who act just like him and women who put up with them and not seeing the irony in him calling women irrational and emotional is both hilarious and tragic.

@@Tomoose736 Oh ok! I've just assumed "therapist" was a protected title (like nurse or dentist) because of the way people use it in English so when I looked her up and saw she was licensed I figured she had to be legit.

@@char1211 it is protected, sort of. You can't call yourself a licensed therapist unless you're a... licensed therapist. People often use certifications to try and give themselves credibility. For example, if you take an online 8-hour course in family therapy, you could legally say "I'm a therapist certified in family therapy." A professional would say "I'm a licensed therapist specializing in family therapy." On the surface it sounds similar, but the difference between the two could be 6-8 years of university study, a 1-year field placement, a certain number of hours working under an already licensed therapist, and then the actual licensure process. My wife and I are both licensed professionals (psych and engineering), so stuff like that really irks us, but it's not illegal to call yourself a therapist as long as you don't say "licensed." Trina is the certified kind.
