In this video I share my thoughts on the responses and posts from the 2023 Dodge Challenger Demon 170 owners who are mad right now who paid mark ups who are upset with my videos. Follow me on Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook at OCMotivator
Sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my Dad in 2005 & I still miss him. It leaves a hole in your heart that never completely heals. Go be with him, screw the Demon owners who are salty. Take care
The Law allows the dealers to adjust for market value and if Dodge suspend the quota the dealer can sue. When Sergio was alive and running FCA and dealerships started pulling these Shenanigans he threatened to stop production to lower the quotas. He wanted to ditch dealers and sell direct but current regulations prevent that in most states.
They are just pi$$ed because they had to have one so bad, they were willing to give anything to get one no matter what. And now the prices are coming down and they feel stupid for paying super car prices.
Sorry for the loss of your father! My dad was a huge corvette fan. He bought his only Vette which was 1995 in early 97 with only 2500 miles on it. That car is still in my garage! When the new C8’s came out him and I was both were in love! So we planned to purchase one together. At the time they over msrp. So we got on a dealers list that was at msrp. Unfortunately in nov of 21he passed away. I got the call February 22 to order our car took delivery at the museum in Kentucky. I wish he was around to experience that.
@@reallybadaim118 yep. And I’ve flipped cars. And I’ve been burned. That’s the risk flippers take and they shouldn’t be surprised when they play that game.
It appears that the only individuals who were able to obtain the car at the manufacturer's suggested retail price were those with a significant online presence.
Brad you do a great job laying out pros and cons of owning our Challengers. You warned us a long time ago don’t fall for the FOMO. I find your information to be of great value and kept me from making a financial mistake. You put a lot of time ,work and passion into helping fellow Car Enthusiasts to make informed decisions Thank You and I pray to the Lord for a miracle healing for you Dad.
Hello Fellow automotive enthusiast : Please accept my most sincere thoughts and prayers for the recent loss of your sister. My sincere hope is that your Dad is not in constant pain and suffering. Cars & things are all toys but all we really have are memories, and most things that occupy our day is total BS. GOD BLESS you sir & my best to the family, TMP from N.J.
So sorry to hear about your dad! All we can do is keep the memories god willing! I still have my 2020 C8, it’s lost probably 20+, can’t take the miles of smiles!
Simply said; the Demon 170 is an amazing vehicle for what it MSRPs at, but it’s just isn’t worth the 50, 70, 100k over. It’s still a mass produced Dodge at the end of the day. That kind of money can take you so much further on anything else.
Sorry to hear about your dad. My dad passed in 2004, still miss him. The payment on my wife's widebody scat pack charger is worth every penny every time she starts it up.
I had the means to buy my widebody scat last year, but boy do the payments hurt while my daughter is in preschool. But when I see her face light up and say "WWHEEEEEEE!!!" when I hit the gas is priceless. Great video!
Oc I love your content and your honesty. I’m so sorry to hear about father. I will keep you and your family in my prayers! God Bless you and your family.
So sorry to hear of the loss of your sister, and your father being sick and not expected to be around much longer. God bless you all. Thank you for a good, straight-up video!
Love your content! Sorry to hear about your father. Definitely relish your memories together. Lost my dad when I was 17. I always take a moment to think about him when winding down at the end of every day.
Sorry to hear about your father. There isn't anything anyone can say that will make things better - be glad you've had your father this long. I know many people who lost parents at a very young age.
The 2018 Demon is 6 years old and still over 100k or more But it's also a different animal with a vin matched crate etc. These will hold there value as they have because of the collector features and they were tested with over 5000 passes for durability. The 170, in my opinion, will hold their values over 100k but I don't see either car being worth a million dollars.
That is just a bump because of the insane last call prices. And like TK said, when you buy a garage queen that has been sitting for 6 years and stuff stops working, you are the warranty
@Catch_The_Irishman The 2018 Demons have proven to be reliable. There are plenty on the tracks over the years without many issues. Heck There's even one with 75k miles on it for sale and it's still 90k to buy lol.
The problem is for those that paid ADM's. These cars will easily be worth $150k, but the dealers got all the equity these vehicles would've had for the first 5-10 years.
You could see exactly where this was going when Dodge started to withdraw from giving race teams the support they needed. If owners are upset, they should be upset with the Management of Stellanits, and Dodge for cutting corners and trying to promise something they had no intention of delivering because they knew they were ending their Hemi V8. Instead, they knew this was a cash grab and really didn't care because they knew people would pony up. I'm sure the problems with this car can be fixed but if you think Dodge has any interest in fixing it you're mistaken. The fix will come from the aftermarket.
Wow. OCM, this one one of the best advise you gave. Im 100% convinced about you are buying an experience. Its like eating a nice meal at a fancy restaurant but mostly the next day, you wil empty that out through your bowels!! You are paying for that experience! Ppl has to know that you are paying for an experience.
I'm so sorry for your dad My dad passed away last January 4th he was 79 would have been 80 next September 6 It was high blood pressure that caused a vein to bust between skull and brain on right side and he had a stroke I have his funeral recorded by the church and I posted it online on RU-vid and the picture video that was showing during the viewing also on RU-vid I like all your videos I live in Alabama next to Columbus,GA My dad live there also My mom passed away 12/10/20 from blood clot burst in brain I miss them both I'm 53 now Keep the videos coming
Those who says dont ever pay more than msrp are the who cannot even pay below msrp. I have a demon 170c got it about 4days ago, I love it. You only remember the joy once the price is forgotten. Its like buying a house in So Cali. You think your making an investment? Your wrong. Owing a house is So cali will literally kill you financially. Better, much better to rent instead.
Spot on video! My Challenger is all about memory making. I could care less about resale value cause I ordered it exactly how I wanted and it’s staying in the family. Taking it to an autox competition this Sunday with my kids. Cheers my friend
You made a very good analogy about you spending time and money with your family to create memories and not to look back at what it cost but what it bought to you... And sorry to hear about your father. I'm sure he's very prood of the son he has ✌🏽
The car is old. The design has been around for a long time. I have had CJDR products for 30 years but after seeing the asshattery the dealers pulled on customers with these stupid market adjustments has forever put me off from the brand. When my Jeep JLU and 2013 Ram 2500 bite the dust I will be looking for a different brand. If the public said NO on the mark ups this situation would have been stopped before it started. OC you paid sticker, those that paid a 100K mark up are suckers and stupid. Why the hell would you spend $230,000 on a Dodge product when you could have bought an Aston Martin, Lambo, Ferrari etc. The Demon at best in 30 years might be of value, but honestly since Stellantis flooded the market it is doubtful. Screw Stellantis and screw the dealerships that screwed there most loyal customers.
Great video man , you always speak the truth, my heart goes out to you , God will give you the strength you deserve during this special moment in your life and family.
Sorry to hear about your dad. I do a lot of things for my son and I am sure you do a lot of things for your children as well. My son and myself knocked a item off the bucket list last year. Great fun we finally got to go to a Browns home game vs our in state rival the Bengals paid out over a 1000 dollars for that game great seats, food, beer, and souvenirs we are both huge Browns fans. We put a massive ass whopping on the Bengals capped off with Myles Garrett sacking Joe Burrow on a fourth down try to end the game late in the fourth quarter. It was one of the greatest days of my life being with my kid, in the rain, and experiencing a home opening win. My son is in the military so it is hard to coordinate events everything is fluid always changing. People gave me all kinds of grief for spending over 1,000 dollars for that game. I don't care you only live once and you got to enjoy it.
Stellantis bought the FCA brand to get a foothold in the US market for all of its 14 brands. They will have no problem bankrupting a 100 year old American company after the cash grab is over
I got my matt damon 170 for under final sticker after dodge raised the price. I take kids to school and pick up groceries in mine. The biggest selling point for me was fat rear end and narrow front end so NO ROCK CHIPS. Ive had several fat boi challengers and the rock chips made me sick to drive it.
Well that’s about as clear and polite as it could possibly be stated. I wouldn’t take any of this personally though. I think a lot of people stretched their finances past the comfort level to be able to buy their 170 and at the time justified it by believing the hype about it being an investment. Now that the novelty has worn off and the payments are still due each month and the 401k is gone, etc etc, buyers remorse is kicking in. They’re not mad at you, the messenger, just upset over the message (reality). Ultimately, they’re mad at themselves and just taking it out on you. You did warn them though that this was going to happen.
I’m almost done with my 1972 charger SE Rally 440 Six Pack one of none Top Banana I’m not sure what it’s worth but it’s price less to me. So it doesn’t matter how much money I have sunk into restoring it.
You're exactly correct when someone purchase these items that are in it for themselves. They shouldn't put that responsible for their actions on others.. If you want to make an investment, don't put it in a car. Put it in the financial institution with a guaranteed income period, don't get mad if you made a mistake and blame it on Brad. You're doing a great job. Keep up the good work. We appreciate you. I'm sorry to hear about your father. Those are great memories. He was there for you when you were younger that you can't by.. can't buy time!! God bless!!
Florida is always humid. Dampness permeates everything. I give Dodge a lot of credit for thumbing their nose at the EPA and the other eco kooks and reviving the muscle car. FJB, wait till November.
think about it as wagyu steak. if you can afford it and you want it, get it. memories and experiences. no return on investment. don't go broke doing it.
Wagyu steak is not trapping people in 8 year loans at 12% interest with spiked insurance payments every month. Every month it depreciates... every month.
Ehhh any 200,300,400k car that blows an engine after a few passes or a few thousand miles put on it is just a rip off and everybody who paid 1-300k over msrp for it deserves the deficit😂😂😂
you guys all got baited into buying RT and SCATPACK narrow bodys with upgrades why would the 170 be the flag-ship car od dodge when hellephants have 1200 hp stock and 1500hp stock makes no sence but i already knew this months ago 149mhp there no govner on hellephant goes 220 tires dont collapse engines dont blow up they did this to only sell dead stock RT and SCATS lol ( BLESS YOUR FAMILY OC )
Sorry to hear bout your dad. I didnt pay a large ADM but frankly I'm tired of so called car channels where they don't do anything with their cars and just a talking head. On my channel we pop wheelies and race cars and do mods ect... that's why I bought the Demon, to do a wheelstand. And I did it at TExas Motorplex at Demonologys event recently. But sure enough some idiot hated on my demon 170 so much they posted a bad review on my business yelp listing. I'm really sick of all the negativity surrounding this car.
A 50k paper weight. Never was built for longevity. But yall know nothing about real drag racing. You don't drag a daily if you're truly serious. This was a novelty.
