We have followed you since before you join the church. Several times we wished there something to give those who we've talked to about your story. Having been members all our lives my wife and I would love a book to give those naysayers who denigrate the church and have faulty understanding of the restored church based on Christian teachings. We would love it to be: Strong with the spirit you exude online, past journeys in searching for the truth with many of your well researched bible references along with contrasting truth found in the restored gospel. Not wanting it to be as long as "War and Peace" yet ironically it's probably been a war inside yourself for years and ultimately peace you have found. We're sure it will be great (no pressure). Also, you posted previously about 100 days till Pres. Nelson's 100th birthday and my wife is reading one of his 108? conference talks each day.
David I hope your book will include a missionary guidebook that would teach them a collection of Bible scriptures that supports the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ - good luck to you in your writing!

Legrand Richard's Marvelous Work and a wonder which used to be part of the Missionary Library actually was overwhelmingly Bible based. Thousands of missionaries in the 60s and 70s studied the Bible more than the Book of Mormon on their missions because every doctrine we teach is clearly defended in the Bible. It is not a fair fight intellectually. The blueprint is clear in the Bible. David is a great example of putting on our spiritual armour and the new testament especially is a wonderful testimony builder.

Another suggestion. Put the narrative in the present tense of location and feelings to draw us in as if we are there in the moment, feeling the despair, etc as you go through your experiences.

I'd love to help with developmental editing (making sure that your book has 1) purpose for the readers, 2) direction in your story towards teaching, 3) a balance of story so that readers connect and can see themselves in that place, and 4) hope, light, and edification toward truth!). Your conversion story is a powerful foundation, and weaving the backstory as a flashback "in the midst of darkness" can help the reader understand why your conversion when you made it to the tree of life and partook of the fruit was so sweet. Sweet enough for you to jump online and shout the feeling of redeeming love that you know and to beckon others towards the TRUTH.
David, the things I would like to know, and the reason I would buy your book are a few more details about your attempts to follow God and your successes and failures. Your scripture references could be used all along the way without giving what restored truth or restored interpretations may have made it easier. Give us the experience of not knowing the answers throughout most of the book. Leave the restorationists filling in the blanks and hoping you could just see the way without telling us the way. Let the evangelicals relate to your plights and connect with your hope and your failure without being told the whole book that they are wrong accept by painting the picture with words. Tell us how your life was. Tell us what was not the way. Leave out the solutions until the final chapters so that there is suspense and longing and hoping for a solution while you lived it. Paint the picture of 68 years of hoping and longing to be accepted by the people of God and thinking that you had found them over and over. Paint the picture of stubborn pride and paint the accusatory Fogg so the readers can experience it. If you did not invent that term, you made it yours. Scriptorians are using it who never used it before your videos came out.Then piece together the scriptural solutions at the end. Title the book “ The Accuser’s Fog machine.” Or just “Accusatory Fog”, or simply “Fog” paint the fog, then show us how it is accusatory fog at the end.
I never tire of hearing David's story. Like thousands of others I feel like I know David. The Book will be a treasure. Not sure I wouldn't call it the 47 year quest.
Here is a suggestion for your book as i have seen this done before. It's interactive. You make high quality videos of you singing and playing your guitar and at the end or beginning of each chapter of your book, you have a QR code that can be scanned and it takes you to the video of your song that is related to the chapter or concept. Just a thought.

I'm very glad to hear you will be writing a book. I have, and all of us, can learn so much from you. I hope your book will help us to better persuade Evangelicals by pointing out ways the Bible supports the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, such as: Prophet's and Apostles Temples Baptism, Baptism for the dead Covenants with God Eternal Marriage The God Head Personal Revelation The necessity of good works The need for additional scripture The plan of Salvation And many other topics that create road blocks for Non Latter-day Saint Christian faiths. We sure would love to have better ways of speaking their language so we can break through this "accusatory fog."

Great news David. Your story is Kryptonite the “accusatory fog” that is blinding millions to the restoration. You know the Bible better and have committed your life to Christ more fully than the critics. I can’t wait to share your testimony with the Protestant Christians I know.
I think an equally or possibly more relatable and effective project than a book would be to edit into a DVD set maybe two 2-hour DVDs of your RU-vid channel posts. We could watch your progress as one doctrine or another became clear to you and you had insights into it which built until you were baptized, and then more insight came. I would love to see those spliced together and edited down, sticking as much as possible to the chronological development that took place, so that we can see the progress in time and enlightenment in video format.
Also read "Study in Scarlet" as a young Sherlock Holmes fan but was INNOCULATED by it to know early on that people will lie about the truth just as happens thruout scripture

Alonzo Gaskill had a wonderful book along these lines, and I love it! 2) You say that our missionaries don't know the New Testament well enough to counter the protestant arguments. Well, I would love to see you write a missionary manual to help them know how to counter protestant arguments. 3) I would love to see a songbook/cd of all your amazing songs that you sing on your channel! 4) Another idea could be something called "Life lessons from a man in a van." 😊 Tidbits of wisdom that you've gleaned from all your adventures and your mistakes.

I especially like to hear your testimony of your understanding of the Bible and the discovery of the restored gospel have fulfilled the lords kingdom of god on the earth. You might want to put a disclaimer saying that you are the king of digression, and repeat things a lot, and that if it weren't for the editors the book would be 10 times as long. Or something along those lines. 😜 Congratulations on your book. You can explain that using the Bible only you came up with most of the teachings of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints as the only possibility, and when you were taught the full Gospel of Jesus Christ, the rest became obvious in the Bible, and something no teenage boy could have come up with. Not even if he had access to all the known biblical materials available now.
David, paint the story of your life and let us experience it with you. Give all the scriptures in your searching chapters without giving the solutions so the readers feel your struggle. Restorationists will feel the suspense and evangelicals will connect. Paint the fog. You made the term “accusatory fog “ popular among lds scholars. Call the book “ the LDS church and its accusatory fog” and you will get more readers. Let us experience your rebellion, finding Christ in the New Testament, your success and failure in seeking Him. Let us experience the hope that you had finally been accepted by His people and the sting of the left boot of fellowship in the end of each failure. Then wrap it up with the solution and the restoration at the end.
Please consider the importance of telling how you learned to recognize the voice of spirit.We all must learn hearken to God's voice. How did you know it was God telling you to listen to those Mormons? Teach how to recognize the source truth.
