I don't know what I expected the interior of Johnny Cash's house to look like, but it certainly wasn't wood walls! You're not wrong about that camping spot, it looks like a great place to stay for a few days!
I received my Arkansas package which includes a map and booklet of motorcycling around Arkansas, it is very well illustrated,I hope to take that trip this summer and thanks to you for paving the way for the rest of us
Sooooo Cool!!!! This is your best Video EVER!!!! Johnny Cash is an absolute Icon. His spirit lives on in music all over the world. I’m envious yet so glad you shared. 👍
This series has really made me want to visit Arkansas now!! Kinda sad that I passed up an opportunity to get stationed at Little Rock in 2001. I just didn't think that Arkansas had that much in the way of history and travel to offer, boy was I wrong!!
No cheesecake?!?! Awe, dang it....😢😢. Thank you for the history lesson though. The map of the houses and the colony really forces you to appreciate how much things can change over any amount of time. Thank you for sharing!
Hahaha! I ate at a Chinese buffet that night and there WAS cheesecake! But I was mentally exhausted by that point, and wasn’t filming dinner 😂 glad you enjoyed it!! It was a really cool experience
Amazingly humble home, I was lucky enough to meet the man many years ago and he was so kind and friendly to a bunch of tourists… Road trips can lead to many unexpected memories especially in the beautiful south.
My wife and I along with 3 other couples went on vacation last year for a week in the Arkansas area after watching your 1st video. We had a blast on our motorcycles. Now after watching the new videos the same group is going back in September for 8 days to stay in the Eureka Springs area to camp and ride. Thanks for the videos .
If you ever get to go out there, plan to spend some time in the colony “circle” where the first half of the tour is. There’s lots of good historical info in those two buildings! 😊
Thank you for providing roads to travel, places to see and eateries! Just my style. Next road trip back east, I'll certainly spend some time at the Cash place. Been listing to him longer than you are old. Nice touch with the black. That was moving as well! And, Thanks Again love watching your content!
Great video and I thought we agreed to keep Arkansas a secret ;-) I love the entire state and the Delta is very special. Super cool tour of Johnny Cash's home. So, I know this is about Arkansas, but your channel is named "Ride to Food" and anytime you're that close to Memphis, one of the best BBQ restaurants in the USA is in downtown Memphis. It's called the Rendezvous and it's in an alley across the street from the Historic Peabody Hotel. You gotta go there the next time you're anywhere near the area again! Great video!!!
Thanks for showing all these great places in the Arkansas Delta. If you haven't made all the way to the South yet, when you get to Lake Village please stop in at the Arkansas Welcome Center and say Hi to Martin, Me, and also go by and get some Rhoda's Famous Hot Tamales, they are great, when you ride the Delta you have to have some Delta Hot Tamales and Rhoda's are the best! The when you get your belly full, ride out to the Lake Port Plantation and take the tour, then go back North to Lake Village, pass through and go camp at Lake Chicot State Park! The have nice cabins too! Stop at the city park downtown Lake Village and take a swim in Lake Chicot swimming area, this is the largest natural lake in Arkansas and largest Oxbow Lake in North America, then for supper go get some catfish at the Oxbow Restaurant on Hwy. 82 East of Lake Village.
Staci, Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. I’ve never seen Johnny Cash’s boyhood home before this videos. Too bad all the other homes have been torn down. That’s progress I guess…….unfortunately. Maybe being used for Farmland is better than letting them just sit. I have however seen his home he and June had in Tennessee. The Tour Guide told us that Johnny Cash owned so much land on the lakefront where he lived that he didn’t ever how much was his. He had all sorts of animals that lived on his land as well.s
If you go to the Johnny cash boyhood home website, there’s a restoration timeline of their efforts to save the house. It was close to demolition at one point in time and needed a ton of work to be saved! So I can imagine that other houses in the colony experienced the same deterioration over time. But at Least like ya said, the area is still used well for agriculture! That Tennessee home sounds like a fun tour. I’ll have to add that one to my list :)
@@ridetofood I’ll check the site out. You should also check out Waylon Jennings place in Tennessee it’s very cool with its own Cannon he used to fire on July 4th
the swimming hole is the bomb bet there's some good large mouth bass in it ,bet that was some good swine yumm !! fields of corn too, well you looked like you were in your element around the house. thanks for the show it was the bomb.
another kewl vid .. as always.... tough & hard life back then just how l grew up on a farm.... & that tray of food would last me a week lol cheers Knee's in Da Breeezzeeeeee.........
great job on the video once again. what you're doing for the state of Arkansas I for one know that people are going to start marking it on the bucket list on things to do in razorback country..
I'm so jealous ... That's awesome I've ridden to Eureka springs and the surronding areas but your series has shown me so much more then I ever knew in Arkansas. Will definitely come back. Be in your hood in July Colorado can't wait to check off my Million dollar hwy bucket list ride. Gonna be amazing. Hopefully weather is good this time around.
How Kool going to J Cash original house... love his music, what a great man... if I 3ver get over there from Australia, I'd be surely doing my best to go see some history of his, and the surrounding area... cheers for sharing 😎🖤🤘
I think all states should have a book or map like this. Granted, it's geared towards motorcycles but us sports car people use virtually the same roads.
Something else pretty cool about AR. In April and I believe October at the old air force base in Gosnell. They have a sanctioned land speed record run at the airstrip. Some of the same cars and motorcycles that run the salt flats run here. People come from all over the US.
Damn dude. First of all, props. Your art is outstanding. Second, thanks so much for showing us inside Johnny's home. Never been, always wanted to and just WOW. Also, great point about bb king and where they'd travel just to play. I never thought about that. As a musician who used to tour back in her younger, raucous days, that shit really puts some shit into perspective. Shit. 🤘🎸🥩🥓🏍️
Thank you! 😊 If you ever get the chance, definitely check out his home and the exhibits in downtown Dyess. It’s really cool what they’ve done to preserve and/or restore history 🙌
All right that was way cool. I am 58 yrs old and as a little boy I re call looking at one if his albums many times I don't remember which one but I would look at the callus he had on his thumb from the guitar I would think how much it hurt.
I’ve never heard of him. The only Amsoil guy I’ve ever encountered was a guy who told me he worked for amsoil about 8-9 years ago and he would get me sponsored by them. He offered me a dealer account where I had to pay a ton of money to meet their minimums. Sketchy salesman, that guy. 😂 Love Amsoil, tho!
@@ridetofood Dang! That’s a horrible experience… naw not the same guy by a long shot. His channel is: Amsoil Adam Everybody loves Adam. Pull up his channel and subscribe with him. You’ll have to tell him that story.
Absolutely love your channel and your content! My husband and I are going on our very first motorcycle trip in June and are going to… Arkansas! Your content has been super helpful as we plan. However, I’ve tried to order the motorcycle travel guide twice and never receive it either time. I talked to a friend of our and he didn’t receive his either. Anyone have any ideas? Can we pick one up somewhere after we arrive?
Oh no! I’ve heard of this happening which is unfortunate. Sometimes you can find hard copies of them at hotels or dealerships in the state! Luckily there is a digital version you can look at online, along with their “standard” tourism guides 😊
Hi! I'm so sorry this has happened, Arkansas Tourism is currently in the process of moving to a new fulfillment system. But, I can get one mailed to you, just email me the name & address to send it: lauren.euseppi@cjrw.com thanks!
Hey Staci !!, Just watchrd the interview with 2lane life ( awsome by the way ) Just a question ?, you said you spent time in the Bay Area< I grew up there , What dealers did you work at ?, and I'm glad you got smart & got out
SF, house of thunder, and west coast when they were all owned by the same dealer group! The Bay Area is definitely not my cup of tea hahahaha thanks for the kind words and for watching the live feed!
With those rides to food you typically are drawn to, you give a whole new meaning to the phrase that motorcycling is dangerous. Girrrl, where is the green, the healthy, the good-for-you stuff? Or did I miss that series?
