since my mom is gone, I would like to wish Renee's mom a happy Mothers Day! You did great job raising your daughter, mom 👏👏👏......... I made you a virtual cake! 🎂
Wow! A perm for a dollar ninety-five! And my mom would have had a few choice words if I had gifted her a canary bird 😂. We did have a canary when I was a child, but my mom was not fond of the mess as my sister and I weren't exactly diligently cleaning the cage. Happy mother's day!
I love the refrigerator. That is a soviet refrigerator, the Mockba refrigerator. I guess it would be hard to find here. But it's pretty neat looking. A beautiful tribute to your mother and so well done.
Hello Renee. Thanks for the Mother’s Day gift I loved it. Tell your mom happy Mother’s Days for me. And to all the wonderful mothers Happy Mother’s Days ❤. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Wishing a very Happy Mother´s Day to all the moms around the world ! You are the ones who fill our lives with so much happiness and smiles ! 💐 By the way: did you know that Mother´s Day was invented in the U.S. ? It was the Methodist lady Anna Marie Jarvis who initiated a first "Memorial Mothers Day Meeting" in 1907, as far as I remember. This became official in 1914 by decision of the U.S. congress and was also established in Germany in 1923 (same date). Great and perfectly made video, as always, Renée ! 👌 Greets from GER, U.
A nice little history lesson, thank you! I wonder what Anna Marie would think of the various "perfect gifts" for Mom on the holiday that she started. What's better - practical walking shoes or a perm? So many choices! Haha :0) Hope that you had a great weekend!
My wife and I really enjoy your content over here in the Pittsburgh area. You take such behind the scenes pains to create a little 2 minute vignette for the viewers. You're the best, Miss paper and Moose! We are avid followers! We love the paper aspect of your finds as you delve into the past of individuals destined to be known through your research. They would/are surely proud of your tireless efforts. Kudos!
Think I was somewhat offensive on my first few views of clean out videos. My daughter had a brown recluse spider bite on her bk top of spine. Left me mortified. Another woman told story of being in Texas. Woke up told husband turn on light. He said it is on .she was blinded by spider bite. Did regain sight but omg spiders. Great for environment. Ya. Outside. Inside!! No no no. U dead
Wow! Paper Moose just found out that you are Taco Stacks other half! Congrats and Happy Mothers day! Long time sub here. Just don’t always leave messages. Kelly from Pensacola Fl. You 2 have a great day with the Family! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!💪🇺🇸♥️🙏😇💜🤗
Thanks Renee. These videos that you make are becoming part of each holiday for me. Interesting to see what was considered a sensible walking shoe then. The local athletic shoe store here would be appalled :). The mom in the "permanent wave" ad looks like a grandmother - wonder how old she was. Life wasn't as full of conveniences and healthcare & people aged differently. I laughed at the umbrella ad. When our youngest was about 8, she wanted to buy my wife an umbrella with her own money for Mother's Day. I took her to the store & she selected an umbrella but the price wasn't marked, so we didn't know if she had enough. She was very nervous. The cashier rang everything up, but missed the umbrella. When we pointed it out and asked the price, she looked at my daughter and said with a little smile, "I don't want to call for a price and go through ringing things up again. If it hasn't got a price tag, it must be free." Yes, I know it was technically theft, but my daughter was just radiant. My mother-in-law told me at lunch today that during her childhood, the tradition was for everyone to wear a rose on Mother's Day (in central NC, anyway). Red if your mother was living, white if she had gone to her reward (or maybe the other way). Have you ever heard of that? Hope you have a great day today - looking forward to the upcoming reveal!
I have not heard about the rose wearing on Mother's Day. Perhaps it was more of a southern tradition? Very kind thought behind it, though! In most of the ads from the early 1930s, the mothers were all portrayed as aged women... looking a bit more like great-great grandmothers versus moms. Perhaps it was more stressful being a mom back then, so they aged faster! The flea market was closed today due to the rain, so hoping for better weather this upcoming weekend! Have a great week at work!
I don't know how it is today, when children don't even know what a mother is, but in the old days we had to make Mother's Day cards at school. And my mother - for some strange reason - has taken care of the ones she got from me. When I look at the cards I made, I'm actually surprised I wasn't put out in the woods. Or at least put up for adoption. Vampires and monsters, UFOs with beam weapons grilling entire cities, horrible things. Horrible things.
