Video and audio quality are excellent, Pete! I don't have much history with the Genesis outside of playing it at a neighbors house growing up. Chester Cheetah has been added to my radar! We actually recorded a recent podcast episode of Otaku Brothers dedicated to the Genesis, sharing unique trivia facts, listening to old commercials, and building out our 'would be' top 5 games if we grew up with the console. Two observations: I have never heard Bimini pronounce that way and Zoop has an ending. I never knew that. Might have to plug in my Jaguar version and give it a whirl.
I'd love a full breakdown comparison of all the Zoop versions. Watched you playing on stream and finally gave it a shot on the Game Gear and really dug it, 2 hours went by super quick. Overall great picks though, so many unique and off the beaten path choices. Great seeing consistent content again Pete!

I love you Pete and been watching for years! Gameplay of these games would skyrocket this video to God tier RU-vid but I understand how busy you are with everything and how much work that would be. It’s kind of weird trying to envision the gameplay in my head while you show the cover art on camera and explain the mechanics. That said these are some great recommendations! Love you and so thankful you’re back on RU-vid regularly!
I know what you mean. I still think there's something fun about trying to envision the game with my explanations, like a podcast style format, letting your imagination run wild enough so you seek out more info on the game. Good recommendations wheres the examples of gameplay. It would def make your descriptions a little less confusing and save people going on goose chase :)
Slaughter Sport was actually one of my favorite games back in the day. I bought it as FATMAN, for the Mega Drive. It was one of my first imports, and I bought it knowing very little about the game, other than it was based on Mondu's Fight Palace, (Amiga/C64/DOS), and then changed to Red Belt, before becoming FATMAN, then Slaughter Sport.. confusing! :P My favorite part of FATMAN, was to play co-op against a friend. Fighting Mondu VS Mondu is often hilarious...bouncing around, trying to one hit kill the other Mondu. Mostly because it can sometimes end within seconds, or even as a draw. It sometimes gets glitchy and does crazy stuff! It really is one of my favorite "hidden gems" on the Genesis/MD. My friends and I make sure to get together at least once a year and have a "FATMAN Tournament". We've now been doing it for 21 years. Sadly we missed last year, but hope to get together soon for a 2021 fight! :)
I'm surprised that I wasn't aware of Chase H.Q. II's existence. I quite like the Master System version of Chase H.Q. which is much better than the NES and Turbografx-16 versions.
Great video. I like all the more obscure genesis games you covered. I havent tried alot of these even though I do see them on the emulation set up. Devillish looks very cool with great music.
Thanks man, out of all of those I've played and own Outrun 2019 and it is great! Tbh thought that Chester Cheetah game does look familiar, I may have emulated it at some point or something. Keep up the great content :)

Great list of Recommendations Pete especially Chase HQ II and Sorcerers Kingdom. If there’s one Genesis Game I played and isn’t talked about: it’s Aerobiz Supersonic. It’s a Business Simulation Game and while there is a Super Nintendo version, the Genesis version is really good but is getting harder to get, but still worth playing today.
Quite a few games on here i haven't heard of until you mentioned them here. Never really bothered to delve into the Genesis library too deep. Also, i never had one back then but a friend gave me one with a copy of Sonic 2. So i'll look these up and maybe i'll consider. Thanks for the recommendations. 👍
Your video now sounds and looks really now very much improved but I never watched your videos for there high fidelity rather your good, well conveyed opinions on games I may have never heard of before. My only criticism I'd have is one that I have had from the beginning and that is how low on your nose you wear your glasses it is real point of distraction for me. It seems the top rim of your glasses is just above your pupil. You do you Pete your videos are great and my distraction is my problem.
Last time I found genesis games at a yard sale with their clamshells for $20: it was Batman (movie), Tmnt Hyperstone Heist, Streets of Rage, and King of the Monaters. 😊
Interesting choices. I recently beat Ex Mutants but had to use a code to continue where I game overed and it was pretty tough. Its actually based n a comic from guys who worked on Robotech comics in the 90s. I beat Mazin Saga in 2016 (The year the game takes place) and its pretty fast and fluid. Negative Mazinger is probably the hardest but the final boss I was able to get his pattern down with blocking and taking openings. Its actually based on a Manga from Go Nagai, the creator of Devilman, Violence Jack, Iron Virgin Jun and Cutey Honey. I think I got Chase HQ on a Multicart but hasn't tried it, but after your talk, I think I shall. Mystical Fighter was pretty good. I managed to beat it on hard to get the extra boss rush level and found on the Tengu boss if you only ht him once her crow summon, you can kinda grind on the crows you take out and get an extra couple lives. Its the most Japanese thing I ever saw on Genesis. Glad you did another Genesis vid. That's why I subbed you.

Stopped collecting after realizing I will never play all the games I have. I crunched some numbers and given how much I play on average, it would take me 50 years to finished them all, once. That's not counting repeats (I like to play the mass efect trilogy every couple of years, ffx, kingdom hearts), or multiplayer games where I can spend hundred hours more...It was a good hobby, and I'd listen to Pete all the time, but at this moment I just put my games in storage and wait for their price to go up a little bit and then sell the games that for some reason I bought, but that I know I will never play (for some reason I have many shin megami tensei games on ps2, psp. I also have all disgaia games...i dont know why I bought then). I feel bad for whoever gets in collecting now, prices are huge.
yay, my favorite console to collect for! mazin saga mutant fighter was my childhood game and i didnt realize i could change the difficulty so i just got my ass kicked over and over back then.
Hey Pete, have you ever tried Rocket League? Recently got back to the game and every time I come back to it, I get more and more interested in ranked. Quite satisfying to get better at the gameplay
I've been training on Musha lately, only playing mZusha when I power onm y Genesis. I hope to one day beat it on hard, and spaghetti monster wiling, perhaps beat it on hard without continuing some day./

Petedorr have you seen that a lot of genesis games an the consoles have gone up in place. You used be able to get a sega system for 40-50 Bucks now they want 80
I owned Bimini Run way back in the day, it was fun for what it was. Definitely not my favorite type of game. Usually leaned to playing General Chaos on my genesis or Sonic 2.
Whenever I hear the name "Genesis" I cring a little bit. Whoever in Sega of America came up with that one was not the right person for the job haha. Mega Drive man, much better. The only games worth getting for Genesis are RPGs or stuff where reading is important, everything else, I get on Mega Drive these days
