Kevin those rifles are beautiful I look forward to your follow up video. Congratulations on getting one of your dream Airgun!! Best of luck with them Joe
I don’t think I have ever seen nicer air rifles, you are indeed most fortunate to have acquired two. I have never actually seen BSA Stutzens before, there are obviously still BSA air sporters over here ( UK )and I have been lucky enough to use a rotary tap previously, but never a rotary breech. Thank you so much for showing these beautiful rifles, I confess to feeling envious!
The safety catch was only on for a short time and are hard to find even over here in the UK, it probably had something to do with extra money it cost to put it on them. The rear guides where always sloppy fitting and hence the buzz from the spring, also the rb2 had a parachute seal that are very stiff but work OK there are many aftermarket seals available I think maccari does one over there and customairseals Australia do one it's the same as the supersport/ lightning one. The tap loader uses an Ali head with an o-ring seal fitted to the piston and work well enough but I find the rb2 to be more accurate, a note on the rb2 is if you have it apart there are 2 0-ring that go on the rotating barrel if your stripping it then I would replace those. You have done well to find to of the finest rifles bsa made there top dollar over here for a niceone like yours.
Two fantastic finds, in immaculate condition, I also dream of finding a BSA Airsporter Stutzen. Congratulations Kevin. Looking forward to the next videos ! Cheers from Portugal
My brother in law bought one of the last of these when I bought my Daystate Midas way back. I loved my Midas (and still do) but the BSA Stutzen just took the prize for looks. I've always wanted one for myself ever since. Your very lucky to have both MK l and Mll 😃👍
Am so jealous of your mint finds. The rotating breach was also used on the bsa superstar , which I have, and am glad you told the viewers about only rotating it after it is cocked, the seals can be damaged otherwise. The tap system was used by webley i.e, webley mk3. I have a mk4 airsporter but am not impressed by it to be honest. As for the buzz, this was a characteristic of a lot of british air rifles and can I suggest you don't try getting rid of that buzz. It is part of the rifle. Just my humble opinion though. Keep up the good work Kevin.
Hi Steve. Thanks for your valuable input. There's an upcoming video where I do my best to tune the RB2. Should be out in a couple of weeks. You'll want to watch it. It's a two part video. Thanks as always my friend.
That's a great find ,Kevin that's one rifle I don't own, the Rb stutzen, version especially is pretty rare, I do own a Bsa arsporter s, but doesn't have the stutzen stock, well done, Regards Pete, from Herefordshire
@@razor1962 count on it!!! Meeting up with Tom from Vortek at the Mid Michigan airgun show tomorrow to get a kit that we came up with for my FWB sport! Can't wait to get it back together 😉
@@chuckhunter1410 Wow! A custom kit? That's exciting. Tell Tom I said hi. He doesn't know me but he's sold me lots of stuff. Lol. Best wishes on your 124. Such an iconic rifle and rightly so.
Thank you my friend. I'll make a video for each of them and we'll go into detail. Then another couple of tuning videos so you haven't seen the last of the Stutzens. Thanks as always my friend.
Thanks very much. I'm very fortunate to have them. There's just something about a Stutzen that pulls you in, and before you even know what you're doing, your wallet is empty, and the rifle's in your hands. ☺️ Thanks so much for watching, my friend.
Fantastic rifles Kevin.....well found!! I own the standard (non Stutzen) version of the Airsporter RB2. It isn't quite as user-friendly as a Weihrauch but (like a badly behaved pet) I still love it 😁😁
Damn those are the guns I missed the other day??? Well now I'm going to have to stop by and do some plinking. Both look brand new and the finish is beautiful. I love the high gloss finish they used to put on air rifle stocks like your old c1. You could almost see yourself in it!
The SuperStar was not quite as nice as the HW97K but they really had their own style apart from the other under levers. By God they were Rugged rifles ! 😀👍
@@marcmyers1465 the only thing that the 97/77 had over the Superstar was the trigger. I've had all three at some time, so had a opportunity to try them out.
@@marcmyers1465 true, cock it ,close lever ,roll the breach open slide the pellet in with your nail, close the breach and you are ready to go, no worries about losing a finger tip or nothing.
The BSA Stutzen Mk1 is identical to the AirSporter Centenary in every way, with exception to the stock. The Centenary has a 3/4 length Walnut Mannlicher stock and the Stutzen has the full length stock. Both had the high level finish and bluing with the Massive barrel and buttoned crown. 😀👍
hi Kevin dr/wilson from egypt ,l have both of them the rb2 .22 i never used i have them since since 1995 my question is how much the rb2 worth which is completely new?
I got a very good deal on my RB2. Mine is in excellent condition as well. I paid $400 US dollars, but I would guess that $600 or more is realistic. Thanks for watching, Doctor.
I sure did. I had an old Quackenbush some years ago. I forget the model but it was a push pull barrel cocker in .21 cal. Yours is gorgeous and considerably older. Interesting side note. Quackenbush made their name producing nut crackers. Lol. Having that .22 short adapter still with the rifle makes it a real find. Congratulations my friend.
