We leave from Oban and have a really tight squeeze on the ferry over to Mull but it was worth it as we visit the beautiful town of Tobermory with all of the colourful houses along the sea front.
It was interesting how many vehicles they fit so skillfully onto the ferries. We enjoyed our visit as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cX1w-WjYc8c.htmlsi=T1tzD5FEMlfJ9r4u
I love that dogs are welcomed into stores, cafes and halls. Here in Australia dogs are not allowed across the threshold unfortunately. Thanks for your videos, I really enjoy them.
Glad to see the weather improved for you! I went to Mull in May 2022 just for 2 days and it was pouring with strong winds for most of the time! The weather calmed down for an hour or so and I went into Tobermory and had a nice meal in that same church cafe. I returned to Mull in July 2023 and had much better weather on my second trip!
@@bilingualbackpacker It's a beautiful place and lots of interesting little shops and cafés in Tobermory, and always helps if you have a bit of sun 👍💕🐾
Obviously the Scottish weather hasn't changed, four seasons in the one day. Lovely! Had the pleasure of working in that area in my youth. I used to assist the area engineer during the summer months. Great memories. We worked from Helensburgh to Oban and all points in between and west. Sadly, my refrigeration days are just memories. Thanks you both for sharing. -look forward to the next episode.
That must have been great travelling around that area with all the scenery and the banter from the locals would be great. Yep, typical Scottish weather 🙄
Hi all, great video work Mike and excellent driving from Tricia, Keira just looks gorgeous. WOW, what a stunning place to visit, I’m making a note to visit when we get out campervan, such an interesting place although not too good for the wallet, I’d be buying in every shop. Thanks for taking us along and giving us ideas for our future plans when visiting Scotland. Take care and happy driving.
Brilliant guys, showcasing parts of Scotland 🏴 (apart from the weather obviously 😅). Mull is fabulous and I’m sure you will have a great time. Looking forward to the next episode, safe driving from Coatbridge. Xx
@@jameswarnock3125 Hi James, just noticed I didn't reply, it can be difficult sometimes when so many comments. We absolutely loved it on Mull. Back on mainland and one more video to come from Cullen then taking a couple of months break from RU-vid and enjoying summer at home, if we get one that is 🤣
Great manoeuvring onto the ferry 👍 Thanks for showing us around Tobermory, loved all the shops. Carol could have spent a fortune on soap and body lotion, never mind the whiskey 😅
I’m so impressed with Tricia‘ s driving onto the ferry, well done. I have many happy memories of Mull but never tried the whisky, will have to pay another visit. Great video as always. Sue
Thanks Sue, I can honestly say that the whisky is right up there among my favourites. I'm quite glad that Tricia was driving but don't tell her I said that 👍🐾💕
@@janettegardner7144 We would definitely recommend a visit to Mull, we have loved it. Thanks, I enjoy the driving but getting on the ferry was a bit tricky 👍🐾💕
Bang tidy driving from Tricia at the ferry terminal. You're absolutely right , it can be tricky creeping an automatic like that , inch by inch. My LWB Transit wasn't bad but Fiat's have a tendancy to just sit there and then you've got to be careful they don't bite too quick when you feed in a bit more power. It's the main reason I chose a Ford because it would just crawl forward on the footbrake. Oban has always been one of my favourite places and I still have a pottery Puffin from the Oban pottery from about 40 years ago. My second wife hated him and wanted to take him to the charity shop each time we moved house but I saved the little fellow 4times and now he's safe with me and the Polar Bears along my bedroom windowsill. 😬 I've never seen any footage of Mull apart from watching Ballamorry with my two Granddaughters when they were weeks. It was you going in the pottery shop there that reminded me about the Puffin. I look forward to the next episode as I love all of the scenery on the West Coast. Keep em coming. 👍
Thanks Nigel. We love the automatic in the Ducato but in situations like that ferry you can't beat a manual gearbox for edging forward on a sixpence. Strangely enough we also have a pottery puffin and it has strange bulging eyes, can't remember where we got it, most people hate it but we like it👍🐾💕
Hi guys Hope you're all well 😊 Fabulous video We visited The Isle of Mull in 2021 and loved it. Your video brought back lots of memories 😊❤ Tobermory is such a pretty place, great that you got your whisky Mike. Those chocolates looked delicious too. Looking forward to the next one. Hi to Kiera from Boo 🐕❤️ Morgs Jo and Boo
@@morgsjoboo2247 Thanks you 3, glad that you liked our wee video and that it brought back some good memories. Whisky and chocolates both fab and both gone🤣👍💕🥃
Oh noo 🙈 Tricia! That’s the type of thing I’d do, I wonder why it didn’t flag up on their system that the two motorhomes were driverless 🤷♀️ This brings back memories, my girls loved Balamory so much, we took them over there when they were little, we toured the highlands in our tent ⛺️ Lovely little place. Thanks, Em & G 💜
Hi guys, glad it brought back these memories, it's a great little place to take the van, just not 3 vans 🤣 but at least we got refunded then promptly spent it in Tobermory 👍💕🤣
Wow I can not believe the single lane road that would realy be a challenge. I have never been on a road like that. Maybe in a campground but not a main road. But the town looks like it was worth the drive.
Very impressed Tricia driving on to the ferry. I really would have panicked. It was very tight for getting in and out of vehicles. Scenery was beautiful 😀
My grandchildren loved Balamory. They would sing the theme tune as they approached our seaside village when we lived in Cornwall. Thanks for a lovely video.
Hello You Three - greetings from Poland Did I enjoy this video? = oh yes! Absolutley fantastic. Something very different. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous food and whiskey and a lovely journey to Isle of Mull. Shame about the weather. I hope it gets better so not to spoil your holiday.
It's definitely worth a trip, we were very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful Tobermory was. The lady guiding me on to the ferry was very good, it made all the difference 👍🐾💕
Thanks for sharing such an interesting video, the tight squeeze on the ferry, the lovely view while having your lunch, the narrow road and lastly the beautiful and colourful town of Tobermory with all the tempting shops !!!!!
That looks a fab place, if I can go when there are no midges I'm in!! Well done Tricia, ignoring Mikes advice and watching that lady guiding you instead top work 😁. Intense concentration!!
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot Some of us Yanks are more ignorant than others, but you are giving us a good education ! The RU-vid gals on “Camper Vibes” also spit out some Britishisms, which also causes me to have to research them.
Lovely vlog - memories for us of the camping ground in Oban & the fabulous views from there! Wow like sardines on the Ferry! Well done! Looking forward to your vest vlog!
I am far from being a Veggie but some of that plant chef stuff is actually amazing, and cant really go wrong with a wee local dram in the van at the end of a long day.
Hari OM Ah yes, that famous all seasons in a day situation... glad you didn't get fizzled by it, though, and made the most of the bright bits! The ferry fares to the isles are considered 'lifeline' routes and are subsidised by the Scottish government. At least for now...YAM xx
We're Scottish and used to the changing weather, you just need to get on with it otherwise you will just sit around all day🤣 thank goodness for the ferries they are indeed a lifeline 👍🐾💕
Hi Tricia and Mike, Mull was fantastic, and the stained glass window in the old church was stunning from the inside. Was your bag of chocolate the smallest Mike? Oh well, just need to console yourself with another wee dram.
Ah! So you got on the baby ferry. The big one is much better but never doubted your ability to navigate the challenging space. I visit the Soap shop every year. Their lavender and gardeners hand creams are lovely and I always bring a few back for pressies. Did you visit the bakery ?It has all sorts of wonderful savoury and sweet delights and they make biscuits for M&S !. The restaurant at the end of the pier, cafe fish, is worth a visit and Macgochans serves very nice meals which is in the car park where you were. They allow dogs too 😊. I do hope you enjoyed your trip to magical Mull. There is just sooooo much to see. The roads are definitely challenging and there is a fair amount of pulling into passing places and in my experience quite a lot of reversing too but I'm so used to it now that ir just doesn't bother me. Its part of the quirkiness 😂
Thanks Jane, we didn't do so many of the things you have suggested here or in your previous comments, wish I had them before we had went, but there you go never mind, we will definitely need to go back some time and I know that your comments with all these suggestions will still be here 👍🐾💕
Great video. Very impressed with Tricia's driving on thr ferry. I hope you got your refund 😅. We're just back from a couple of days on the Delamere Forest Camping and Caravan Club site. I love how friendly fellow travellers are and also love nosing around their 'vans 😂
@@MikeandTriciaOotnAboot it’s great lots of parking on the front in Brodick. We drove around the island in the van, no real issues but obviously narrow in places. Encountered a few midges along the way but it is June😂
