It's not the hype , but the thing where the anime gets shoved into your face , to the point where it actually becomes overhyped like aot s1 even after being so good , but jjk is a good example of the hype being understandable because it is actually going pretty good , for now atleast

It’s usually just salty elitists that are butt hurt because their obscure favorite anime that came out 15+ years ago isn’t getting the attention that anime are getting today. It’s just unfortunate that those are the people who screech the loudest in the anime community so it makes newer people in the community not want to even look at an anime that is having any sort of success.

The movie is weak imo. Main character had no presence or personality, neither did Mononoke, and the resolution was unfulfilling. I feel like because it's Ghibli that people hype their scores up for it

@@TheMoshnak Me and my wife watched it a few months ago and both agreed. Main character's whole plot was "I have to get cured". He never sided with the spirits nor the humans and he had no obligation to help the spirits or the humans. He was just there to get his curse lifted. Mononoke didn't trust him because he was human, who also was only in the movie towards the back end. I feel like nostalgia goggles are on for you guys. Y'all gotta rewatch it as an adult because I thought it was better when I was younger too

@@Ash_Wen-li I don't like naoki urasawa's way of writing in general too much conveniences and stuff. 20th century boys was even worse for me. LoGH is a 10 though (despite some little problems like the 2 dimensional space battles and other minor world building issues, nothing is perfect after all). Only anime that deserve 10 for me are LoGH, evangelion (and end of eva), berserk 97 (don't care about the lack of animation it is an amazing adaptation of the best arc in berserk before it's eventual downhill), ashita no joe (first one has some issues with pacing and filler but 2nd one is a masterpiece), fma 03 (yes i prefer this over BH because it's thematically richer and morally more complex. Sure it had little problems like stupid frank archer cyborg stuff but that is a really minor complaint) and some other stuff that i am in between a 9 and a 10 like 3 gatsu no lion, shouwa genroku, rose of versailles, welcome to the nhk, ping pong, tatami galaxy, ghost in the shell SAC, texhnolyze and maybe cowboy bebop despite being episodic spike's characterization is phenomenal. A series has to balanced in terms of characterization, plot (by that i mean not having too many plot holes, conveniences, good pacing etc.) and theme exploration for me to be a 9 or a 10.

S1 and S2 aside, re was speedrunned, skipped so much meaningful and important content that the adaptation fell flat on its face imo. Theres so much character development glossed over that it makes all the most impactful characters feel cheap and shallow.

Probably Gundam Thunderbolt. I really liked the rivalry between the main characters, the mobile suit designs were nice, and the music has to be the best part in my opinion. It’s a shame that it’s only 8 episodes.

Idk, for me it was just weird, not a fun watch. To enjoy it you have to not take it seriously, otherwise the story felt pretty bland and random. The ending was a jam though.

The soundtrack was so great, and I’m not talking about the ending. It takes place in New York and the background music feels like it’s something you would hear on a radio in that world.

@Shonen Impact most people care. if i wanted good harem i would watch shows with "harem" tag. but sao is one of the few long running action romances out there and ppl get baited by thinking its not harem. which is why most people hate sao.

i mean jojo and monogatari series are like gateway drugs to more patrician or even pretentious stuff, while aot and re:zero are straight up normie anime even though they are alright in quality. if you want to expand your taste in a more obscure direction you shud check out stuff like aoi bungaku, haibane renmei, serial experiments lain or even tatami galaxy

Seriously, the novels are some of the best light novels I’ve read. You can tell the author actually knows how to write compared to a lot of other Japanese web and light novel authors

JC staff was like the only good fight scene they made was the Minotaur and Goliath. I hate they do the bleach style cut out fight scene like in one punch man season 2 the best fights and drawned battle in manga look like shit. But jc staff good at slice of life and comedy genre Flying witch, konosuba, direction is lacking but still enjoyable because of great source materials.

I forgot the abomination that is Persona 5 animation JC staff is the biggest hit or miss Animation studio ever.

@@jqa16 I agree. I'd honestly love to see it handled by White Fox Studio but it'll likely never happen. What needs to happen is there needs to be a change of directors & story boarders. And if you can't get content in all at once I'd much rather see say a odd episode count but broken into 2 parts. So like first parts 8-10 episodes and then the next part is also 8-10 episodes. These 12 episodes a Season are clearly to short or director is clearly trying to cram to much content into a Season. Like the Novels have clear Arcs and points in which you can stop.

I personally like code breaker it was a really enjoyable watch but the anime itself is so poorly done that i would not rate it above a 6 yet i would still re-watch it over other animes that i rate a 7. It really depends on how you rate. I take into account voice acting, art, quality, music, scenery and more aspect specific to anime. Than i combine that with the dialogue, plot/story, pace, world structure and more. Finally i think about entertainment. How much did it captivate me and too what degree did i want to keep watching it. When i did that for code breaker i thought a 6 was as high as i could go because it had flaws all over. If i had just scored it off entertainment value than a 7 would have probably been what i would have scored it

The difference is that if you watch Perfect Blue and Monster when you are older you will still love them because they were written to appeal to a more mature audience too. I feel like the older you get, the more cringe anime like Kiss x Sis become.
