I have the Tomalin and the Ackroyd biographies of Dickens, and would be hard put to choose between them, both indispensable. I one volume edition of Dickins' letters, oh yes please. Off for a look now.
Have just bought my Dad the Robert Louis Stevenson book. He enjoyed his books and has a huge interest in Scottish Lighthouses that were built by his relatives. Am not a huge Dickens fan, do love A Christmas Carol though.
The Selected Letters of Stevenson are superb: you are in for a treat. Stevenson is an excellent letter-writer, and the selection is expertly edited by Ernest Mehew so as to work almost as an epistolary biography.
I too enjoy reading about Dickens. I’m interested in The Life and Lies of Charles Dickens but have to wait for the ebook price to go down. I’m concerned about the validity of it, but I could enjoy it for what it is on a 99p special offer.
Lighter fluid. I’m very serious. You put a small amount on a paper towel. Rub the sticker with the paper towel until the sticker looks saturated. The sticker should peel off very easily. Just don’t use too much and dispose of the paper towels accordingly.
