Maha Bandula Park is a well-maintained and busy park where you can relax in the shade or the sun for an hour or two. During colonial times, Yangon used to be known as the "Garden of the East" due to its parks and other green areas.

I love this park and happy to see that it is well maintained now, it wasn't before! My mother used to attend the Baptist church across the street and I would accompany her sometimes. I see the High Court with all its splendor, and the other colonial-era building on Maha Bandula Street was a big department store in the past called Rowe & Co. And of course, the Yangon City Hall with its unique architectural design and last but not least the glorious Sule Pagoda right in the heart of the city!

Hi Dirk - it has quiet spaces but otherwise Downtown Yangon is pretty hectic.

I enjoy watching your videos, but that statement, "..this used to be the high court. It was finished by the British in 1911...", inflicts a historical injustice on the local Burmese people! 100 per cent of the slave labor was provided by the local people. But because of a colonised mindset, we have tendency to give credit to the colonisers for historical structures that were built on the backs of native people! This mindset has to change!
