The music has shut off at Sunrise Mall, and only a handful of tenants remain. By the end of this year, all remaining leases for businesses inside the mall will expire, and the mall will close. As of today, the future of the mall remains unknown, as the company who purchased it last year has yet to announce any definitive plans.

Amazing how thriving malls in 2005 are mostly ghost building les than 17 years later. So sad to see the passing of the huge indoor shopping era.😔

I watched this mall being built, I think it was 1973, I was 11 years old. We all were so excited and loved shopping at Sunrise Mall. Fond fun memories with my my family, then enjoyed with my niece & nephew as they grew up.

Korvettes, A & S Stores, Sterns, Merry Go Round, Chess King, this mall had them all.

Played here in the woods before mall l950's through to late 1960's Built tree forts and sledding in Winter. I lived one block from where the mall is.

This mall is almost identical to our mall here in Escondido CA. Ours was commisioned as the North County Fair...and was purchased by Westfield Group in late 90s early 2k. Now it is the Westfield Shopping center

I believe it is formally called Westfield Sunrise..... That group purchased it...

@@sluzardo5879 yes - it used to be Westfield Sunrise until another company purchased it in 2021, now it's back to just being Sunrise Mall
