One of my favourite vsites. It was less than 10 mins from where I lived. Much prefer it to long met or the stones at jeswuck. The whole area is covered with acorns and circles. Snap area is worth a visit too. There is a missing site near here as the m6 is thete. It triangulated with Arthurs table

Mayburgh is awesome and huge, it must have been a very important site in Prehistory. I have been to Shap, I visited Cumbria in 2008 and toured around the awesome stone circles in that area.

Is it open to the public to visit, Martin? I live about an hour away from there.

It is open to the public and there is a second henge about five minutes walk away called Arthur's Round Table.

@BeforeCaledonia thank you for taking the trouble to reply! I will make a point of visiting in the next few weeks. Really enjoy your channel. Have you heard of the Devil's Arrow, at Boroughbridge, in Yorkshire? It is just off the A1. Three huge stones, interesting markings on them. Best wishes, Loraine
