You're right. It doesn't matter wearing it in either hand. Lefty had been wearing right hand watches for a long time. I also find that wearing this on the left hand avoids the crown digging into your wrist which I like

The scissors that we lefties had to use in kindergarten were green handled (as opposed to blue for the righties). I think Lefty is a fine name for it.

As a lefty, it's totally trippy to hear you be jealous of the same things I'm jealous of that right-handed watch-wearers have!

I’m a lefty and wear my watches on the left wrist. I think this looks killer on the jubilee bracelet. Like swapping from a 42mm on the wrist to a 36mm you have to wear it for a few days to adjust.

"The Flanders" is my favorite suggestion for a nickname I've heard. He wore a green sweater and opened the Leftorium: a shop for left-handed folks. It's perfect.

Hey, great video, thanks. Did anybody ever think about the possibility that the green colour could be a hint from Rolex that the watch should really be worn on the right side, because right is starboard and starboard is green. 😂

I'm left handed and when I got my first watch as a young teen, my father told me that your supposed to wear your watch on your left arm. I suppose he got "supposed" because that's the arm observation reveals where most people wear their watch. So I put it on my left arm. One winter day I threw a snowball at a friend and my watch had a twist-o-flex band on it. It slid right off my wrist and over my hand and landed somewhere under the 6 inches of snow. It was 2 weeks before the snow melted and I was able to find it again. Such is why you wear your watch on your least active arm!

Like you said there is more to the watch than the change of position of the crown but go on to mainly talk about the position of the crown.

Since it was announced it made since to call it the "Rocky". It's a lefty, or "southpaw" just like Rocky, and the bezel is/are the colors of Philidelphia where Rocky is from and fought. Makes total sense to me.

It’s a pretty piece, no doubt - but as a former GMT II owner, the changed date and crown positioning is the trippiest thing to me.

I have a Sinn EZM 2 which has a destro crown so it doesnt dig in the wrist. The date sits at 3:30 and peeks out from your sleeve. Plus it is rated for 5000m WR so its got that going for it.

I guess you should also get a set of left handed clubs to be pleasantly be surprised; how do I grip them, how do I swing...etc

I’ve worn a Rolex on the left for 10 years. Picked this up. Wore it on the right and it took 3 days to feel natural. I work in scrap metal and sort all day. So it can be adapted. Just want to and don’t wimp out

It makes sense to call it the Starbucks. We’re in that day and age, and its a sort of drink like rootbeer, coke, pepsi. Honestly it feels like an optional model, like diamond set daydates or a no-date sub.

I have the original blk/blk gmt ceramic, I am left-handed, and wear my gmt on my right wrist. I wish I could find this timepiece because I would wear it every day, or every other day.

I'm a lefty and this is a perfect watch for me! Not because I can wear it on my right hand but it stops the "crown pinch" happening as I bend my wrist. I have placed myself on a Pepsi waitlist before this came out so I'll have to wait until I get the call for that and then sign up for another waitlist for this...........if that happens :( Also I would call it Mountain Dew, well I'm a bit biased as it's my favourite softdrink ;)

I am a lefty and welcome Rolex thinking about us left handed folks who are only 10% of the population! However, like all Rolexes, they are unavailable. Maybe one day I can buy one!

Just got mine. I am a lefty. Date is on the left. Its nickname is the "Lefty". Sorry, the lefties get something finally. The gentleman that sold me the watch was just at Rolex trainning and they said they do not want AD's callong it the lefty. Does not mean right handers cannot wear it, but if my Seamaster is a righty, this is a lefty. It is awesome.

A destro watch is designed for lefties who wear the piece on theor right wrist, to be able to easily utilize the crown to manipulate the crown and/or wind the watch. As a lefty who does this, I have to take my watch off to change timezones via hour hand. Sorry for that grammatical nightmare.

While trying to understand this watch, you've just described the issues that left handed people have had with watches...forever. Is the date window covered up by a sleeve? Have to turn the watch so it's upside down to set/wind? smh

You wear your watch on your least physically active (least jarring) arm. In other words, if you are left handed, you wear it on your right arm. Most people are right handed and wear their watch on their left arm. Watch makers therefore, put the crown on the right side because that makes the watch easier to wind while on the wrist. Except for a left-hander wearing one on his right arm. In fact, it makes it very difficult to wind. Putting the crown on the left makes it easier to wind for left-handers. Practically no watches are made with the crown on the left. Very rare. And here's the irony for this watch: the crown on the left makes it easier to be wound by left-handers...but...it's a self-winding watch that doesn’t need to be wound anyway!
