A wonderful process for connecting a broken tooth of one input shaft to another.. #howtorepair #brokeninputshafttooth #wonderfulconnection #pktechnologyprocess
As a machinist, I lose my mind when I see Lathes and Mills being operated by guys in long sleeve shirts. That thing will rip you apart when you get tangled.
You could hear it protesting when he was facing the part off with the tool not having proper clearance. Chattering the part in the chuck. I hate three jaw chucks.
Yes. We need very complicated, precise turning and grinding machines, skilled programmers, and CAD programs to remanufacture that type of part. And they do it along the street. The quality is not guaranteed, however.
Tell me why it want work do you think they would be doing this if it wouldn’t work I tell you what you try it and let everybody know here on RU-vid that it doesn’t work You hater?
Typically the steel is only heat treated on the gear teeth and the splines so the inside metal is not very hard. Also this part may be locally produced so a few weeks ago it may have been a washing machine. Not a proper alloy in other words.
i do not know why you as smart as you are do not have a live center they are easy to build in fact i watched one of the workers build one from scrap parts all he purchased was bearings
@@horstmuller7512thats the funniest shit i heard in three weeks. Thanks. 😂. I was gonna say its Pakistani way of checking for cracks but yours is way better.
15:09 you can see how ruined is that lathe. There is a plenty of flat spots on cuted areas. It is just "jumping". But they still weld trough lathe and destroys bearings in it. So no surprise. These morons are never going to learn.
Surprisingly you can do this and it will survive. I I I have used welded, shortened inputs in racecars and never broken the welds. Gears yes!! Is it good practice? No but it does work. Though the engineer that has done them for me is far better equipped. Though never try this with an axle shaft. You can weld them similar to this and they last about 5 minutes. Think about the amount of reduction in gearing they have to take.
First off, depending on where this is used it can last quite a while or just one hour. The precision is none existent and the woble in high torque application will brake it and cause a lot of noise. Secondly I am not too sure if those teeth gain more and more pits as they proceed.
well first i wonder if there is any other place in the world where they would do a thing like this, making a working shaft out of two old once, and second i know for sure that every where in the world they would try to make you bey a new shaft. its amazing what skill this workers have and what they are willing to try and do to help someone out.
As an "Expert" welder I would have expected you to quote some electrode numbers and welding procedure. Have you ever been welder who has had his work certified to any recognized standards?
