A1 Heatbed Update: Recall officially announced

Last week Bambu Labs announced a callback for a safety issue with the heatbed on their A1 3D printer. Today, since then there has been further developments and today they made another anouncement.

Looks like Bambu should’ve stuck to their word when they said “no more bed slingers”

Bambu stated that only 0.1% of manufactured units have this particular fault yet there seems to be an alarming number of reports of the very same issue on so many devices, then the next minute a total recall of all units is announced.

Ok MAY huh so June I can go to bambú and pick up a couple cheap refurbished units then awesome!

Saying AC is more hazardous than DC without discussing voltages is somewhat misleading. Every doorbell in the US runs on 24v AC, and you could spend all day trying to hurt yourself with it. If the bed is 110/220v AC, then yes, this could bite you.

mines was not damage and i printed that cable guard i think if ur printer is not damage yet u will be fine with that guard i was lucky i just bought mines so there was no kink in the cable

I have an A1 which has operated flawlessly since purchasing however I am in the unfortunate position of having already getting rid of the box and packaging material it came in and I am going to bet here in Australia we will not be able to replace the bed ourselves so I am wondering where that leaves me?????

i think everyone is getting confused here they are sending you out a cable to fix it, if regulations allow in your country. if not then you will only have option 1 and to send back for a refund and wait until may for a new printer to rebuy one again.
