Aaron Boone’s expectations were: 1. Guide the team to the ALCS at the very least. 2. Expects Cashman to pick up the season 2025 club option because he succeeded above item 1. 3. If his team appeared in the World Series, Cashman would offer him a 3-year extension with a substantial raise.

Remarkable composure to not even laugh when it happened. This is like a clip from The Office, especially with the face Jimmy makes.

I gotta be honest, I really don't think the Yankees have had a great offseason. And, yes, I am aware they got Juan Soto. But that was a move they absolutely HAD to make. Let's look at this rationally. Cashman's flawed roster construction CONTINUES to plague this team. DJ LaMahieu is not a starting 3rd baseman, and neither is Peraza. I'm not sure Wells can handle defense behind the plate and he didn't hit quite enough, albeit in a short sample size, to justify the poor defense. Rizzo is aging, has a bad back (a la Mattingly) and now is coming off a significant concussion. Their $25M DH is a .190 hitter who strikes out a ton and can't stay healthy. Their starting rotation is Cole, and 3 guys that either couldn't stay healthy last year or had a poor 2nd half performance. Oh, and we still don't have an actual closer. And all this for $300M+. If I were Hal Steinbrenner, I would be LIVID at how poorly Trash-man constructed this roster for that kind of money. I am not at all excited about this year, because I fully anticipate it will be the same outcome as last year, just with Juan Soto.

Am I the only one that finds these Boone interviews unbearable? You could cut the tension with a knife. I get the choice for you guys to bring him on the pod but I don't know why he keeps coming back. It's rarely a good look for him

Such an awesome event, everyone from Jomboy employees to Fans who came - were all so cool. Boonie was a terrific sport when it came to the fan questions and pictures and everything. I got pictures with BBD and Jose, I saw Dan Kenobio and Zo there as well. Whole event was super smooth. AAANDDDD The podcast itself was awesome! My defining moment as a baseball fan (still) was watching Boone hit that Walk off homer in game 7 Of the LCS in 03. Was sitting in my friends double wide on an old CRT TV at like midnight. It was a legendary moment!

Sanchez, Frazier, Hicks, Gallo, JD….. Cashman’s fault and Boone took all the heat! With this year’s lineup, as long as Boone keeps it consistent and stop mixing up a making a new lineup every game, we have a good roster. Keep the lineup simple and consistent. Forget analytics! Forget matchups!

There’s 29 other teams with a manager who doesn’t do what Boonie does for Talkin Yanks. I’m not a Yankees fan so I don’t get as mad about his decisions, but I definitely respect this guy for getting in front of a real crowd and taking questions from the self-proclaimed “toughest fans in baseball.”
