@@libidinousbear4563it’s crazy how overlooked Fletcher Cox gets because he just went about his business. There was definitely a time when he was the most dominant DT in the NFL instead of Aaron Donald. Cox just didn’t dominate as long as Donald did. So career wise Donald had the better career. But in his prime. Fletched Cox was a force as well and was still more than solid at the end.

How many interior linemen have six Pro Bowls, 70 sacks and a Super Bowl win? Three. Aaron Donald, Warren Sapp and Fletcher Cox. That’s the company he’s in.

I think everyone hoped he would have 1 more. Because everything was somewhat coming together for the Rams after last season.

Yeah but almost no one makes that decision years ahead of time. They always make the decision in the moment based on where they are in their career, their accomplishments, their level of production and state of their health. Maybe it’s possible Aaron Donald truly made that definitive decision a few years back that he would 100% retire after the 2023 season, but I find that extremely hard to believe. Don’t be surprised if he misses the game and comes back in a year or 2. Not saying it will happen. But it absolutely could as the biggest catalyst for guys retiring is a precipitous drop off in production or chronic injuries. Neither of which apply to him.
