Aaron Judge agreed to a 9-year, 360 million dollar deal to remain with the New York Yankees. Judge reportedly turned down a 10-year, 400 million dollar offer from the San Diego Padres because he ultimately wanted to remain in pinstripes. For every non baseball fan or Yankees fan who doesn’t see Judge up close Judge is the type of guy who has always valued being a Yankees. He loved the Yankees and they were always his number 1 choice he just wanted to get paid. The Yankees owner wasn’t stupid for giving him the contract Yankees fans were in love with Judge and would never forgive Hal if he didn’t pay him. Judge played his leverage perfectly and earned every penny.

Because I've never heard Padres fans are an overly demanding group. So my take would be there is far more pressure on players for the Yankees than really any team. As a Yankees fan, I can tell you Skip is dead wrong about us -- we never let Judge down easy for how he played in the postseason. He sucked. Breaking the record was amazing, and I'm so happy one of our guys -- specifically Judge did it, but would I rather have another World Series than the home run (clean) crown? Absolutely I would. Shannon's on the money tho about Judge -- where would you rather have your monument? Among all the Yankee greats (arguably the greatest collection of players ever), or one of only 2 or 3 guys MAYBE if your team wins big? Judge was always coming back home.

Guy already has a history of missing a lot of time for injuries - and he's only getting older

Been saying the same thing. They needed to spend that money on pitching! Instead they gave it to a guy who can only go downhill from here. I like Judge, but man this contract is just bad for the team overall.
