I just found your channel through Nick and Katy’s channels. I love your fish room/garage. I have my tanks in my family room as it gets too cold in our winters to use the garage. I live in the US in Austin, TX. I also don’t have as many tanks. I do my water changes the old fashioned way. I have a big tank and a hand full of small tanks. My big tank has 2 Bristlenose (about 10 years old) and a Super Red Bristlenose (a new baby), 4 older Sterbai’s (about 10 years old), a ton of guppies that are self perpetuating and 6 American Flagfish (Killifish) who are the best algae eaters around. They will even eat black beard algae. That is my overstocked community tank that I have had setup for 10 years now. The older plecos and Cory’s are original stock. I ran it for years with a variety of HOBs and just recently switched to a Sicce Whale canister that I love. My water parameters have never been so good. My smallest tank (5 gallon) has a double half moon male betta (blue) and a ton of Blue Dream Neocaridina shrimp. I started with 10 shrimp about 2 months ago and at last count I had over 40. I plan to start moving some of the shrimp to my larger small tank (10 gallon long) which has a half moon male betta (light blue and red in his fins) and a school of 8 Venezuelan Red Sail Cory’s. I am thinking about adding another shrimp tank in my bedroom sometime in the future.

Wow Adrian!!!! You have very early set the bar really high with your video presentations! From your explanation of the water change and drainage systems, the need to wait before completely breaking down a tank, the disasters and distractions when working in the fishroom etc are very informative and entertaining. And the bloopers reel was an added bonus! Keep up the good work. Am looking forward to being educated and entertained by more of your videos.

Great work! If possible in the future get a better camera, your fish tanks have many details that should be visible properly. If possible also, move the camera, a little bit slower when you filming. Your fish tanks are a paradise!

Hey mate, love your work and so stoke you have your own channel and are creating your own content. Love your approach and the natural way you keep your tanks. Just a thought, you may be able to fix the sump where it is. You would have to strip it down and it would be out of action for a couple of days. You would also have to reinstate the top brace that runs horizontally the entire length of the tank, attaching it to each baffle along the way to prevent future bowing. I’m sure there’s a reason why you haven’t, however I’m happy to discuss further if you wish.

Another great video. 💕. You hear a lot of people tell you “not to do more than 20% water change, you’ll crash your cycle”. So I find it very interesting that you happily do 100%. Would love to hear your thoughts regarding water change/ cycles. Etc. You got me craving more tanks! 🙈

Impressive, quite impressive. One tip, try to slow the camera movement down. It can feel a bit like a roller coaster. I know it’s easier said then done and a bit unnatural. I’ve enjoyed the first few vids and look forward to many more!

Interested to hear about the whole house filter, what that costs etc. I gather that means you never need to use water conditioner?

You have a dreamy setup, its obvious how much love and time you have put into it Curious though, i always heard you shouldnt so vigorously wash your filters...that to retain peak bio-filtration, all you need is a couple of squeezes and a swish or two to rinse out any debris. Can you get away with deep cleaning it because you have the sumps and other bio-filtration? Or is it because your tanks are not that heavily stocked relative to your plants and filtration

I don't know how many times I've watched your set up on Nick and Katies channels and thought this guys living the dream and now you have your own and I couldn't subscribe fast enough. Do you still work or do you get to do this every day .

I would try to use some big wood clamps to close the gap on the sump. Unless you are willing to redo the whole thing you could get away with putting some plastic strips or wood on the outside surfaces in two or three spots to spread the load evenly. Most of the wood clamps are extruded aluminum I don’t think corrosion would not be an issue.

Mate how you do it, fish tank and birds you must be flat out every day

Do you not have to worry about mixing hot and cold water to get the right temp going into your tanks? My cold water runs 50-55°F all year out of my well, so I have to temper it with hot water to get water going into my tanks 70-75°F.

Am I seeing correctly, is your pothos plant actually growing leaves underwater aswell as the roots? What lights do you use on all the tanks?

How long does the Whole House filtration usually last before having to change the filters?

I see you are sending water straight out of your tap on the auto water change system. Does that come from a reservoir you've set up or straight from the mains supply cold. You arent worried about heavy metals or chlorines, or is that not an issue in Australia. Thanks

I might have missed it. How do you control the temperature of your water on changes?

Good day, is your water supply actually chloromine? Our city just changed to it last summer. Lots of people having troubles dealing with the ammonia! These Blue filters look after it?
