in 16 years, ive owned 36 vehicles. only two of which cost more than $1000. my last one was a 2006 Impala i paid $150 for with a good safety sticker somehow. I immediately cut the cat off, and put in a piece of scrap pipe i had, bent with pie cuts lol. got my $175 for the cat, so the car was essentially free. I drove the bag off that thing for 8 months. 365k kms on it. the only thing i ever put on it were wipers, and tires from our scrap pile at the shop (still had 4/32" tread), aligned with a measuring tape. eventually the transmisson went, so i scrapped it for $600, which more than covered my registration fee and insurance for that 8 month period. FREE CAR! lol. BUT, I will say. I have only ONCE got stranded on the side of the road, and that was due to a bad ignition switch. I had wires and a relay, as well as a momentary push button in my random bag of tricks and tools in the trunk, so i wired up my own switch and made it home unassisted!. Beater cars rule dude.

I know it's just a rusty clone, but there's something I really like about the dumpster fire Daytona. I'm glad you got it running and it made it to Roadkill Nights and we got to see it for a brief couple of minutes on the live feed, but I understand that you didn't want it to fold in half (I was hoping to go, but health issues at the last minute prevented that). I realize you have no intentions of actually restoring it, but I hope you eventually have the time or interest in at least fixing it enough to keep it on par with the work you've put into Death Metal. I also know everything takes money, and you have things that priority over this project too. Maybe Birdsong would be interested in donating some time and/or parts at in the future to keep it at least more functional and less likely to crumple into a Mopar ball of decaying tin foil. In either event, I'm glad you kept it from not being used and languishing more, and we get to see it. Hopefully it sticks around in the collection.

Seems like the algoritm doesn't like the link, but Finn...looks like this was up for sale in October 2020 on Copart. It was down in Orlando, Florida, which would explain the swampiness. Found a link to a Barn Finds discussion board where they were talking about it, but the actual listing has disappeared into the ether. Sounds like he wanted big money at that time too for what it is.

It might not be a bad idea to have Chris Birdsong put a new tail light panel in the car and mabe fix the rust like he did General Mayhem, he could probably fix the quarters too and weld it bracing that a real Daytona would have to support the down force from the wing!!! Love this car man it will sick seeing you race and drive it!!!! Roadkill for life!!!! Best show ever other than Finnegans Garage!!!

In a lot of the old pics of Daytonas and the ones I've seen in person, they have a baby chin spoiler to direct air into the radiator. Also have seen them with the opening of the nose enlarged like a Superbird.(it extended under the nose) Almost all of those had a 18x24" opening with a sceen held by an aluminum frame with a bar in the center. It makes a huge difference

Satin Centerlines with 50's tucked, looked so badass from behind. Especially with the 68 taillights. 1968 was my favorite yr of the charger, because of the rear panel and taillights.

24:56 super easy method: sight the line between the two as close as possible. Draw a dot in the middle (hump, in this case). Sight the line between the two halves, draw a dot in those centers, rinse and repeat until you have a decent middle line. Close one eye or use a mirror to sight down the line. Both will work just as well.
