Just want to say that if you come across abandoned disconnect switches like the ones at 3:52, DO NOT attempt to turn them on. On the off chance that power is present, an unmaintained disconnect can explode, spraying you with molten shrapnel and possibly killing you or injuring you very badly.

The switch in the computer room at 5:58 was for an AC blower. Pushes the cold air under the floor to go up into the computer cabinets for cooling. Had one just like it for a FFS simulator I used to work on.

Also either a Headlamp and/or a Head Camera. Having both hands free is invaluable. Having a few Glowsticks or Glow-in-the-Dark Chalk, or basically anything that glows by itself and isn't too influenced by the environment, is also useful to mark where you've been before when you get lost, especially if the area you explore is not broken up into smaller, independent sections (Like the small sheds and bunkers here) but a larger, more sprawling complex.

Think about it, a man who knows science is exploring an abandoned missile testing site. The site seems to be long-abandoned, but it's suspicious that there's still a large number of abandoned objects and machinery. He's running around trying to find some sort of secret while a storm is starting to roll in. This is the plot of at least 3 horror movies and a handful of SCPs

NoriMori The quote is modified quote of the book Lord of the Rings written by J. R. R. Tolkien (the scene in question being when the wizard Gandalf read an old book/diary/last will and testament sort of thing written by dwarves who had temporarily survived goblin assaults; they’d written the entry shortly before they were apparently overwhelmed and slaughtered by goblins, given their corpses were strewn everywhere). The second is a meme variant of what happens in the book immediately thereafter - the party of adventurers led by Gandalf heard the goblin war drums begin. Hope that helps!

@@Ivan2294 It has to do with START I and II treaties, which stipulate that the US and Russia can send inspectors to each country to verify that the number of nuclear weapons do not exceed agreed upon numbers. Since Tekoi was a missile test range, it would of had Russian START inspectors visiting to ensure that the missile tests did not result in new nuclear ICBMs above the maximum nor that the tests were facilitating anti-ICBM missiles that would give the US a nuclear deterrent advantage. So it make sense that there would be signs in Russian to notify them of rules specific to the location. When I was stationed at Minot AFB as a Security Forces officer, there was about one or two visits a year from Russian inspectors to look over the ICBM sites and nuclear cruise missiles to verify the numbers of weapons matched what we reported. We didn't have these signs as we usually had interpreters available.

In the main video, he said the the land was leased by Hercules and when that expired, the land reverted back to the Native American tribe that owned it as part of their reservation. So presumably, he got the key from them after asking for permission to visit the site

This may seem a little crazy, but I think I know a guy who used to work there. I went to Utah for a wedding a couple years back and met the groom's grandfather who was a missile engineer in and around Salt Lake City starting in the '50s and '60s. He started and ran his own missile design company with 4 of his friends, made good money at '60s value (so a lot more today via inflation) from government defense contracts. If I recall correctly, his company designed bombers and/or missiles for Boeing, but in the 70's he sold his stake in the company. He said that they would often work at a military base near Salt Lake City, and according to Google Maps, Tekoi Test Range is a little over an hour's drive from there. Sadly, I think he got Alzheimer's a couple years back, but the man was a literal rocket scientist designing missiles. He also had an absolutely insane life story, such as how he fled East Germany as a kid illegally to Canada. Edit: I found his online profiles, and he actually had his own company in the '80s where he designed for Boeing.

You could fall and be knocked unconscious, accidentally lock yourself in somewhere, get lost, or in the case of folks who explore abandoned missile silos, slip and drown or collapse from sudden hypoxia, and a second person in these situations can either resolve the difficulty or be the difference between life or death.

I've found it interesting how in these abandoned buildings and facilities there's always still a lot of stuff that's just left behind. I'm not talking about big stuff that 's too big/heavy to move but the small stuff like desks and chairs along with other office furniture. I see the same all the time on ghost hunting show where they'll investigate an abandoned hospital and there's still wheel chairs and crutches lying around.

The appropriate number of things moving in the dark is exactly one less than the amount of directions not blocked by walls. In Greys case, since there was one wall, two things could have moved in the dark without completely blocking his escape.

Your safest bet is to have plenty of things much smaller than you scurrying around in the dark.
