This is why I've followed you for so long. You are such a good guy Steve and you've always stayed humble. Of course you know I like your explore videos more than those paranormal videos. I think that a creepy looking night time abandoned mansion video where you guys stay in the house for an entire night but you stay quiet and listen for sounds and movement. You record all the creepy things that go on. 😳😧😱 That would be great.👍 Steve you need to take some online courses to get more knowledgeable. The great lakes is pretty common knowledge from middle school to high school. Lake Ontario is one of 5 of the great lakes shared between Canada and the USA also known as North America. Most of Lake Ontario is surrounded by 🇨🇦 🍁 Canada, 3 sides and then New York occupies the East side of Lake Ontario. Toronto is a big part of Lake Ontario and as you probably know Toronto is in the Province of Ontario. FYI I was born in Toronto and I live pretty close to it here in Ontario. That is all the geography lesson I'm giving you today buddy. You travel more the most people so you should learn a bit of geography before you go to these locations. Someday you may have kids and you will feel like a doofus if your kids ask you to help with their middle school homework and you can't answer easy questions. Also keep learning because your brain is a muscle and we all know what happens when we don't work out our muscles. Blah blah blah I know, sorry. Anyway stay safe, get a mask on around mould. 😊✌🏼👍🏼👍🏼💛💛

Less than 15 years abandoned (might not even be abandoned just waiting to be sold). I bet who ever owns that plot atm. is trying to sell it so someone who can build something expensive on it or to sell it to neighbours to expand their land. I think that box with seal is some documentary dvd box or something like that. Edit: Bought 2009 and foreclosure 2011 so owner business went bad and he/she couldn't pay monthly payments so bank took it and is trying to sell that property or let it rot (land is land).

That's what pisses me off to there's so many abandoned falling apart houses in the country because the bank foreclosed and wouldn't work with the people to be able to keep paying or lower payment until they got back on there feet but then the banks just let the places sit there become eye sores and get vandalised and waste the places and end up getting nothing at all in the end when they could have worked with the family so they could have been able to stay and pay off the place

Hey person who is ignorant, sometime people just walk away from a property, or they die. Sometimes entire families die. Lots of time these properties get caught up in the court system, which cant take years and years before the home can be sold. My house was "abandoned" for 8 years before I bought it due to the courts and our nations problem with "conservatorship" laws. Please educate yourself before commenting.

This house was built in 1956. It's a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom, 3,500 square foot house on 2.6 acres. It was last sold in 2012 for 255k. Another poster said the owner purchased it in 2009 and it was foreclosed on in 2011. Land and house value is listed as 500k to 700k and property tax is nearly 19k a year. So sad that this little piece of paradise was left to rot away. Beautiful home and I wish that backyard was mine!

I feel compassion for these people because I once lost a nice home to foreclosure because I got sick. My home was almost paid for but I couldn’t save it. Had no money to hire movers so I left with what I could get in my car. The house was packed with nice furniture and gourmet cookware. So I understand how these things can happen. It’s sad, but maybe they have a better life now.

There are a lot of factors involved, but lenders sell the properties when they can. General market factors and saleability of the property are the big ones. Sounds like the 2008 recession was a big factor, which also would create problems with resale. Pretty dated design and might have to be sold for land value if the size and layout aren’t workable, but sounds like the foreclosure sale was final, so I’m guessing the new owners have or had other plans for this place. Companies can’t be ashamed, because they aren’t human, but act in the best interests of the stockholders.

What a beauty! So much character-unique. I live five minutes from a Great Lake & if you drive East of the city on Lake Drive to the Northern suburbs, you see properties like this. Nestled in between Stately Federal stone mansions. Hiding behind forest like entrances, & situated far back. Their backyard cliffs of the ocean- like Great Lake. They are so organically built & old that they appear to be becoming part of the Earth because the Exteriors are stone. There’s no other way to describe it when there’s stone. The moss and the plants start blending into the stone. it’s unbelievably beautiful. I’m babbling. This is my favorite find/explore by you in a long time, Steve. There are all fabulous, but I LOVE this one. Maybe the era of the building, the architecture...Just really enjoyed it. Hard-core. Thank you. Hello from the Great Lakes State, Michigan. We are one of the states with the most shoreline you can find. In school I was taught to remember the lake names using the memory aid HOMES. It stands for Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. They were called sweet water seas because they're fresh water. Traveling to other states frequently the residents would drag me off to see their "great" lake. There are some big ones out there but compared to those surrounding Michigan, not even close. A lot of people drown in rip currents in the Great Lakes. Lake Michigan is, I believe, the deadliest of the five for beach goers. Listen to the song "The Edmund Fitzgerald." Lake Superior is indeed known as the lake that never gives up its dead. My state isn't a drive through state, consequently, it is one of the best kept secrets around. There's much more here than Detroit and Lansing. Come visit sometime. Fall is beautiful, winter is snowy, spring is too short and summer is hot and humid. Thanks for the neat explore.

You are correct because it doesn’t matter where you live anywhere in the US or Canada. The schools don’t even teach cursive writing, so I imagine geography was left behind. I am over 60 and we had to learn all 50 states and name their capitals along with the Great Lakes. We had to label everything on a blank map. People think that New Mexico is not a US state. I was helping watch the grade school neighbor and was appalled at the education. One of his siblings was in high school and wanted to become a veterinarian and I asked her some things from my high school biology and she had no idea what I was talking about. I did at least teach the child how to write his name in cursive so that when he got older, he could actually sign his name instead of print it.

@ I was one of those mean moms who wouldn’t allow tv and we never had cable. I agree, we stressed reading and pursuing your interests. The local grocery store had a promotion on frozen food that was 10% off everything that you had put in one of their bags. The young clerk who couldn’t be more than 20 told me that he didn’t have a calculator and was going to need to ask his manager. I told him to just move the decimal point on the purchases that he had done a subtotal on and he replied that wasn’t how ten percent worked. I told him what the amount was, but had to wait for the manager who looked at the subtotal and told the clerk without using a calculator the same amount that I had said. The kid didn’t believe us, so the manager tried to explain it and as my items were thawing out he finally found a calculator to prove it. The schools don’t teach people how to think and they have no common sense. I have a friend in her sixties and keeps saying that her parents didn’t teach her how to do the things that I do, but I learn how to ask questions or look things up, which is easier now with the internet.

@@katblue1460 when the bank forecloses and sends the sheriff out to remove people they don't always have the time to take everything. Most of the time people pack a suitcase or two and then have to leave. And back in 2009 the banks foreclosed on so many properties at once that they don't even bother to maintain the properties because it would cost them tons of money. Things like this also bring the value of the surrounding properties down too. But the banks don't care about that. Sometimes you can find property like this really cheap so the bank doesn't have to pay taxes on it anymore. However, in a few states the new owner is responsible for all back taxes owed that may not have been paid by the bank while they had possession of it. That plus the cost of repairs to the property and home often puts the price of the home way over what it's worth. So it sits empty and looks like this one.
