I finally decided to upload this abandoned house. It is a great place but unfortunately Just before filming it I noticed what I thought was a dead sheep and it's lamb about 10 meters from me but the sheep was still barely alive and struggling for life but the lamb was dead. There must have been some difficulty with birth and I could do nothing to the unfortunate creature but walk away and let nature take it's course. It left me extremely affect because I was unable to do anything and as a result I rushed the explore a bit so I could get out of there as my mind was still on the poor sheep and not being able to help. I still haven't watched the video all the way through so I hope you enjoy . It really was an amazing place. Maybe I'll go back some time and do another one so I can film it properly. I hope you understand why the vid may be how it is but I thought I'd post it because it was what it was, (Horrific!) Sometimes it would be great to own a shotgun plus I was recovering from lung surgery in my battle with cancer so I was in no state to be trying to lift anything let alone a poor unfortunate sheep. This old homestead was near Armidale Australia.
Here is the updated video of the property after I returned to film it properly as it has a great deal of historical significance here in northern nsw Australia as it was one of the first sheep stations to introduce sheep farming to the area.

Thank you for all the comments on this video. Let me explain a few things here.. An average sheep weighs roughly 200lb so there was absolutely no way of me trying to haul it through a paddock and over a barb wire fence and then try and get it into my car to try and find a vet in the nearest town about 30 minutes away from where I was on a Sunday without me causing it great trauma and distress. I had a phone but because of the isolated area I was in, had no signal. The sheep was not mine to take nor try to kill. I thought about whacking it with a rock but would probably only have caused it far more distress before it died. I did not film it because it would have caused an outrage and a barrage of vile comments, just me stating that it was there and that it affected me has provided me with enough disgusting comments as it is. I rushed through the house because my mind was not set on being there as all I could think of was the sheep plus I had driven 4 hrs before I found this place so took the opportunity to film while I could. We have gun laws in Australia that prevent the carrying of guns and once again it was not mine to kill and was the responsibility of the farmer not me .As for sitting with it until it died would have meant nothing except maybe traumatising me even more and really is a bit unrealistic and idealistic patting a wild animal in the mud. I made another extensive video of the property if people choose to view it when I went back again a few months later because it has great historical significance . If you really want to see dead sheep, you'll see quite a few in that one.I've put the link in the description. Thanks for watching.

mkuebler5 No one should judge you as they weren't in the situation. Being an America & from rural WA state, I have experience in farm animals & still would had been panicked (and yes, if exploring abandoned place alone, would had a firearm). But as you say, it was not your animal to make any decisions for. The best you could had done was to notify anyone you seen in area. Stay safe and ignore haters comments.

No thank you. I’m an animal advocate, any mistreatment of any animal affects me deeply. I would have been on the phone to any wildlife rescue/agency to take her. Alive or passed away.

Can't you just call animal control when you got cell service again or do they not do it that way where you live? I'm only familiar with USA animal control. They would have gone right out to assess and/or rescue the sheep. Then they would have made sure that there was not more criminal neglect of other animals.

In a situation like this our instincts tell us to help the animal as fast as we can. You can only do what you feel is right staying within the guidelines of your laws. (If I see a dog in distress in a hot closed up car I’d call police after I broke the window and get the dog out. Even if I did go to jail I’d know that dog is safe first. But that’s me, others may do something else.) Doing nothing is wrong. Doing anything at all is the right thing to do no matter what that might be!

Your distress over the sheep shows what a wonderful soul you are. Thanks for caring, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I know the feeling, it's not ever a good one, but it does validate you are a person with decency and compassion.
@SuperNewKittie
@SuperNewKittie 6 лет назад
Wow, that's a tough one. Sadly, some animals are so fast, there's nothing you can do. I hit a squirrel once with my car. It ran right out in front of me and there was no time to stop. I went home and cried for several hours. I just kept thinking that it woke up to a bright sunny day and it didn't live past the morning, and it was all my fault. :'(
@nadinemasteller1089
@nadinemasteller1089 3 года назад
@@SuperNewKittie You didn't force the squirrel to run in front of your vehicle. One once ran under my car between the front and back tires. I went over it before I even knew it was there. It was only because I felt a thud that I looked in the rearview mirror and saw what it was. I also had a cat do the run in front of my car. I braked but it was going too fast for me to avoid it. I stopped and checked , but it had run into bushes and brambles that I couldn't penetrate. Some things are just unavoidable. The only good that can come from such an occurrence, is that it will be food for another creature.

I once was a sucker for old abandoned houses and shacks...….not any more. Found a leg bone complete with foot, nothing but what looked like very old bones. I reported it to the nearest police. I took them back, showed them, and didn't lie about how I was looking for old stuff. They were nice, and I left. No more old houses for me, no telling what you might find. Was I scared ??? YES I was ! !

With all these new urban exploration channels popping up like herpes blisters, it's only a matter of time until we see a news story of a "youtube star" who gets shot and killed after trespassing onto the wrong property. Give it time, it will happen, it is inevitable.

I can understand where you are coming from, man. When I married my husband, they owned a dairy farm, also some pigs and a horse. The way animals had to live was so sad compared to the way we treat our pets in the city. We had about 100 cows and various other animals. It's just different and it is sad, but, there is not always a solution that is better than a gun. Farmers do have feelings, evidently not the one left to care for these, but this man does care and is upset that he has to leave an animal suffer.

LeAnn Cottman that's why you call somebody else whose job it is to take care of it I would not expect him to take care of it himself! the way he could take care of it as make the phone calls to the right people even if it means the sheriff comes out and puts it out of its misery there's no reason to let something rot if it slams laying there dead and it doesn't look well then there's a problem. any living thing that seems suffering deserves at least a phone call to someone else who can help it

People make me laugh on here for commentating what you should or should not have done...You did what you thought was right in the moment. That doesn't make you a terrible person for neglecting to help the sheep. Good Lord...I'd LOVE to see other people pick up a dying sheep and take it to the vet. I bet half of the people on here wouldn't...the excuses, "Ewe. Gross! I'll get rabies." Get a grip people...he's human, not perfect.

No, it doesn't make you a terrible person, it makes you a person with little compassion. You may not be able to decipher right from wrong ... trepassing is wrong, to help to alleviate suffering of man or God's creatures ... that is right. That's only my thoughts anyway. I am an Earth sign ... that may be my problem. I simply cannot understand another way. One thing is certain, your type is happier in their lives. Good for you.

I think this is an incredible old home that can be rehabilitated. I can 'see' Christmas stockings on the first room's fireplace mantle and can 'hear' children laughing and a man coming home from work saying, "I'm home!" This can still be an incredible home for someone who falls in love with it!

This is the old JJ Johnson house. It was built in 1920. JJ owned 3 drug stores in town, was wealthy but very eccentric. He could be seen in town carrying signs that read VOTE FOR HERBERT HOOVER, many years after Hoover died. Mrs Henrietta Johnson owned a casket company she inherited from her father, bur her employees were absconding with the profits. JJ accused Henrietta of having an affair with the local butcher Hans Kruger. Henrietta denied the accusation but towns people let JJ know that they had witnessed Hans and Henrietta leaving an upstairs apartment in town. In August 1939, Henrietta came home from one of her romps, and JJ shot her dead in the entry way of this very house that you see in the video. JJ then grabbed his rifle ran in to town and shot Hans the butcher in his store. JJ was captured 2 days later, he was sentenced that same year and died in prison in 1969. So now you know the rest of the story.

Mkuebler5 - I am ashamed by some of the comments you received regarding the traumatizing experience you had before shooting the video for this location. You didn’t have to say anything at all about what you experienced, but you did because you wanted to be honest to your subscribers and anyone else who may have happened upon this video. I really appreciate your honesty. Also, being born and raised surrounded by farms here in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, I can assure you that you did all you could do. If something like that would’ve happened around here and it wasn’t discovered almost as soon as it began happening, most farmers would’ve “humanely” put the poor little animal down themselves. Don’t get me wrong, I have an enormous bleeding heart for animals. The people who commented negatively don’t know what they would’ve done unless they had to endure what you did! You can rest easy knowing that the majority of us understand and can sympathize with you. There will always be people who have something negative/bad to say regardless of the subject. Keep up the great work!

The suggestion I would offer, is while yes, it is very hard to pick up the sheep, hoping you never experience that sight again, but sometimes, just sitting with the poor gal until she passed would give her comfort in not dying alone, or tucking the baby up next to her also. Its hard to do, but very kind and compassionate. Wonder where the owners of the sheep was? Well, for everyone who reads this, hoping no one ever encounters this, but a small act of kindness to an animal goes a long way.

Being an animal lover and having a soft heart, I am sorry you had to experience the sheep and it's dead lamb. I find it unsettling to even see a dead animal in the road hit by a car, be it a possum, coon , dog or cat. There was nothing you could do for the sheep. If you had tried to kill it with a rock chances are you may have only added to its distress. You did not have to even say a thing about it in this video, but you were honest and reported what you saw, and the fact that it bothered you as badly as it did just tells me that you are a kind and caring young man. God bless you. And you people who are berating him for doing nothing, just what would you have done?

The house looks like it is circa 1920s, post WW1 farm house. It has also had several additions to it throughout its lifespan, hence the strange floorplan. It probably would have started out as a small two bedroom, and as the family expanded, so too did the house. I imagine, given the size of the house that there would have been quite a few kids running around the house at one point.

It affected me for months.

well, the humane thing would have been to put the sheep out of it's misery. secondly, back in the day, that was a fine house and property, and what disturbs you is that after all the work, after all the blood, sweat, and tears, this is what happens to all of us. We get old, we die, everything we were just fades away into nothingness. Make your peace with God and you will not fear the next phase when this one is over. God bless you.

Houses have energy. They get this energy from the people who occupied them them once. The longer a group of people have lived there, the stronger the energy left behind. Once the house becomes unoccupied, that energy roams around bouncing off the walls. People call this energy GHOSTS. This energy can be so powerful at times that it can take a form that humans can recognize. If bad people live there, the energy will be bad, bad ghosts, mean ghosts. BOO!

Iammeyousee It's insane. Most slaughterhouses will not allow the public in or to be filmed. most of the footage that comes out is from undercover filming and it's rarely pleasant. In fact most of it is absolutely BARBARIC. We like to kid ourselves that these animals are humanely slaughtered but I really don't believe this to be the case quite often. Animals are very commonly abused, especially since these places attract people that enjoy animal cruelty. I watched earthlings and went vegan that day. I can't say that it has been all rainbows and butterflies. I did fall off track when homeless and I have eaten meat since. However, I am trying to be fully vegan now that I have a home again. I don't condemn meat eaters, I just wish they weren't such hypocrites. They go crazy over animal abuse but don't want to face the fact that many animals are tortured for years so that they can enjoy their meal. They will say 'Oh don't put me off my dinner!' Yet if many saw someone beating a dog, they wouldn't think twice about not eating meat if that action alone could stop that one beating. The issue here is the secrecy around slaughterhouses plays right into the hands of people not wanting to face the issues. Mainstream rarely covers it (it's too graphic) and people like to fool themselves - see no evil, hear no evil. Once you have seen an animal being anally probed, screaming in pain to have all it's fur ripped off, bloody skin everywhere and then it's eye looks up at you and you realise it's still alive, you know that a stand needs taking. You can't 'unsee' all the cruelty. Whilst this is the fur industry, many industries that seem benign like the egg industry are just as cruel. All the male baby chicks are treated as a by product because they cannot lay eggs. They are ground up alive in blenders or gassed . This happens to BILLIONS of little chicks every year. They are probably the lucky ones, the females that survive often have a horrendous life. Even if people consume animals products there are things they can do to reduce suffering. This is a conversation that needs to be had. It's such a shame that people just want to close their eyes through sheer selfishness.

if that came to fruition it wouldn't take long and some group/organization/political party would find a way to make money off of it. However, there are some homes for humanity and usually the property is purchased or given to a select family but they have to work so many hours to rehab it and they also have to have income to show they can pay for it. Nothing is free, so homeless won't usually get homes. :( I a......... so thats the way it is I guess.

What disturbed you about this place in particular? It appear to be an abandoned farm type house, or at least semi rural. I can understand feeling bad for a sheep dying after an unsuccessful lambing, but Nature does that sometimes. A call to animal control might have made her passing easier, but I don't think the house is to blame for the sheep.
@KNGEveryday

I do not understand why there are so many empty homes and people homeless. Some hard work cleaning and a few gallons of paint would offer decent shelter. The curve glass porch is very nice! Seeing a dead lamb would bother me, too.

Karen Johnson That's true, but I don't think it's legal to just pick out an abandoned house and just fix it up and move in. There are people that has done it before tho, and has gotten away with it for years. But eventually they were caught and questioned, a few ppl were charged, and a few ppl had the choice to either be out within 7 days or go to jail and still have everything they own put out on the street!!

JesusChrist OverAll I know...it is sad that People have no roof over their head, and there are so many empty houses. It is apparent that whomever owned this home loved it, and my guess is that most People would rather know that their home is being used as a home than be empty and ignored.

It’s a beautiful old home that needs some love. I was raised on a farm and it looks very familiar. And cows and sheep do sometimes have difficulties giving birth. If the owner of the property new he would be sad that he lost a lamb. I watched my father give mouth to mouth on twin lambs and they survived.

There is a house as far as you can drive up just past a bridge on Reeves road, Kentucky south, that is half way up the hill.there were at least two deaths in the house over the years.it has been abandoned for over thirty years.I can remember stories of sexual and family violence that were told in hushed tones. When i was in kindergarten at school i got a lift from the mum and two kids a few times but anyone who lived there only lasted a few weeks and never heard of again. There was a creepy forest near the house that was very dark no matter what time of day. The view from the top of the hill above the house is beautiful. The hill used to be known as "Old Hungry" 30 deg 47' 56.56 S 151 deg 24'57. 49 E approx co ordinates. Go there in the middle of a cold New England (AUS.) night and see how long you last there. It is not creepy just sad lonely and forgotten about. One of the rooms has a trapdoor and the rooms always have large spiders. Kentucky South was a soldiers settlement after WW1 and a lot of the veterens had problems not only from the war but trying to make a new life on terrible infertile land. There were lots of orchards there and many of the first born children died from cancer from the chemicals used spraying the trees back in the early years.

He could have looked around and found a pipe or piece of wood to use to beat the poor animal in the head with and put it out of its misery. Lovely colonial clapperboard house, obviously built for a well to do family. There's some sign of the start of renovation, ie tiles removes in bathroom, mantle piece removed (to ascertain what is behind?). Totally cleared of furniture. In UK at a salvage yard you'd pay £500 for the range oven, £30 for the period wall phone. I guess from the guys' voice this is not in UK or USA, possibly Australia. These homesteads can be miles from their neighbour. Nice vid, thanks for sharing.

Hey man, don't feel bad about people and their idiotic comments. There was nothing you could have done short of stomp its head in our find a large, heavy stone and most people couldn't do something like that. It's sounds like it was pretty close to death. I'm sorry you had to be in that situation. I don't think anyone with a heart would want to be put in that situation. For those of you who think you'd do this or that, you really don't know until you're there, how you would react. Even if you do know, it's not fair to judge others. For the person who said call a vet... All I can say to that is, seriously? Call a vet and pay with your own money to come and kill an animal that would probably already be dead by the time they got there??? If you think a vet would spend their own money to save a dying animal in the country, you need more life experience. Smh.

Thank you for all the comments on this video. Let me explain a few things here.. An average sheep weighs roughly 200lb so there was absolutely no way of me trying to haul it through a paddock and over a barb wire fence to try and find a vet in the nearest town about 20 minutes away from where I was on a Sunday without me causing it great trauma and distress. I had a phone but because of the isolated area I was in, had no signal. The sheep was not mind to take nor try to kill. I thought about whacking it with a rock but would probably have caused it far more distress before it died. I didn't not film it because it would have caused an outrage and a barrage of vile comments, just me stating that it was there and that it affected me has provided me with enough disgusting comments as it is. I rushed through the house because my mind was not set on being there as all I could think of was the sheep plus I had driven 4 hrs before I found this place so took the opportunity to film while I could. We have gun laws in Australia that prevent the carrying of guns. I made another extensive video of the property if people choose to view it when I went back again a few months later because it has great historical significance . If you really want to see dead sheep, you'll see quite a few in that one.I'll put the link in the description. Thanks for watching

I think many would love to buy a neglected home and restore it. I would and many are choosing to buy smaller or neglected homes to live in. With people living in vans and rvs more now, I think people are rethinking how they live. As a senior I am considering my next step, from now paying more than I'd like in a gated property. I could be so happy with a small home. I hope more people rethink buying these old properties for little or getting a small home they may not have considered before. LIfe is to be lived and not be strapped with debt and financial hardship.

Just looking at the place as you come into the gate, I thought it must be in Australia. Later on I saw the water tank, then I read the comment. I'v been to Armidale many of times. Took aerial shots of the country. The place looked like a nursing home. Memories are made of these. Those country line dances & thousands of empty beer cans. Left D/Under in 1978.
