Here is a collection of 'after these messages' bumpers which used to run Saturday mornings on ABC-TV. These first appeared in 1988 and were animated by Olive Jar Animation Studios in Boston.

These are probably the most creative station break bumpers that ever existed !! Claymation characters that sang,danced and made television watching on Saturday more fun!
I remember these from growing up in the 80/90s in New Jersey. There is a magic that you feel at that age. It fades away year after year with all the bullshit of life. What I wouldnt give to go back to one of those mornings for one more day like I had then. My grandparents were alive, my parents were married, we had family dinners together. My father would bring home a new NES game from the Toys R Us near our house. How amazing something so insignificant as a commercial bumper could bring back a taste of those days. Even if it only lasts a few minutes, it feels better than anything in the last 25 years of my life.
Childhood really was the best, wasn't it? Or more specifically, OUR childhood. I'm a 30-something & we WERE the last great generation of childhoods during the 80s-90s.
Thank you for posting these, you brought back fond chilhood memories. This was back when being a kid was special, On Friday you had TGIF on ABC and on Saturday you had Muppet Babies, The Ghost Busters, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, The Flintstone Kids, and tons of others. I don't know why the Saturday morning cartoons went away, I guess society just changes slowly with each generation, this is sadly the digital generation.
The last good Saturday Morning cartoons was Fox Saturday Morning. X-Men, Adventures of Batman and Robin, Spiderman, Carmen San Diego The Tick from 93-96.

Oh geeze, I remember these. I'd watch the saturday morning cartoon line up and these little snippets would show up. It was such a long time ago. I wish they still did the Saturday morning line up of cartoons. It was always so much fun. I am fond of this stuff cause I was born in 1981 and grew up on a healthy dose of 80s and early 90s entertainment. Sure, we knew how cheesy and corny it was, but we still enjoyed it. Oh, the memories. Miss those days when music actually was music and movies were actually awesome. I love 80s and early 90s music and stuff from that time. It's in my blood so I can't help but like it. :)
Man, these bring back all kinds of memories from the late 80's and early 90's from when I would watch Saturday morning cartoons on ABC, there were some of the best bumpers ever. I remember about 6 or 7 years ago I was driving and thought of the jingle and began singing it and when I got home checked for it on RU-vid but couldn't find it, so I'm very glad they're on here. Amazing stuff! Watching these totally brings me back to 1989/1990 back when Saturday morning cartoons were amazing.
Me and my partner work at the same hotel, and when we had some downtime, I heard him singing “after these messages, will be right back” And I tell him how happy I am that I heard him saying that.
I met the fellow who did these. He was a teacher at my school. When I was obtaining my animation degree. I was even going to take his stop motion class. Until he suddenly quit. Cool guy.
This reminds of the good ole days. Waking up on a Saturday morning eating Trix cereal (when it only had 3 colors) and sitting in the den in front of the floor model TV wearing my Strawberry Shortcake pajamas. I miss the 80s.

People are so overdramatic about the state of television nowadays. It's fine to reminisce on the good ol' days but trashing all the stuff on streaming and television now just because you didn't watch it as a kid is honestly overblown.
The joy I get from these is wonderful. It makes me so happy. I feel like it's the late 80s early 90s again and I'm on the couch watching TV and the sun is shining through the windows. I just love this. The jingle, the brick wall background, the claymation, the nostalgia. It takes me back to a fun time in childhood on a Saturday morning.
I was 5 in 88 that's when I was old enough to understand Saturday cartoons. I remember the shows I watched that were on that year on ABC were Slimer & the Real Ghostbusters,Pup named Scooby Doo,and New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I miss those days getting up early and watching cartoons. I feel sorry for the kids today that will never get to experience what we had!

I was just thinking and memories. Thinking back. Me and my family came a long way since 80s. Me and my brothers slept in the same bed. We've came a long way. This commercial brought me back to those times.

Omg the memories are flooding back, I remember hearing that music then running to the kitchen to get some cereal and back to the tv before the cartoons came back on
You probably had an amazing, diverse and fun childhood if you can remember these vividly! Man I miss Saturday Mornings filled with awesome cartoons that were done by 1, still had plenty of time to go outside and play and not be glued to a TV, but those morning hours were priceless in the 80s and early 90s!
I remember seeing these in the 90's on ABC, before Disney took it over in 1997 and replaced the whole line-up and made ABC Saturday morning catoon airings go down-hill.
The Opie and Anthony show brought me here; they used the audio of these bumpers for their show bumpers in late 2013. But holy fuck this brings back memories of my childhood!!!
