There is no pac brake warmup mode on the pac brake kits for the 3116 cat motor. I should have taken my trailer with. That would have gained enough heat up that hill to make the fan run. Not getting hot is a good sign though right?? No stupid subaru head gasket issue.
@@SeanFillner Yes I think that's a great sign. The Subaru's generally consume some amount of coolant as well - through the exhaust or over-pressure the radiator cap and dump it out the overflow. Good times.
The direction it faces will not allow for that because of the coolant flow. If it does get an air pocket the fan will come on a lot sooner than 205. I wish I could find an adapter that is straight on and long enough to fit the sensor though.
That is an option. There is also a horton switch that has 3/8npt threads but it costs twice what the index one costs. You know what they say, mod cheap, mod twice. That might be the case here and I hate welding aluminum btw.
The 3116s don't work that way. The cooler for the transmission is in the coolant/radiator loop on these trucks. The capillary water temp gauge monitors the coolant temperature close to the block. This sensor fixed the issue 110%.
@@SeanFillner I have the 3126. I've already replaced the fan clutch solenoid which fixed the constant fan running issue. I also replaced the temp sensor. Once topped out on the interstate for about 40min or so the fan clicks on but seems to stay on. I'm worried my transmission doesn't like those higher speeds. I see guys getting transmission temp readings from the BlueFire gauge setup. That leads me to believe the 3126 must have a 2nd sensor for the transmission. So possibly the fan may come on even though the block temperature seems like it should be cool. I've ordered one of these BlueFire dongles so I'll know soon enough what data is available.
