This has been my favorite dark comedy in a LONG time. I had so much fun watching it at the theater, I was laughing and clapping. I'm mad it didn't blow up. When I watched it, I was the ONLY person in the theater.

If you love Kathryn Newton, you'll love Lisa Frankenstein. It is just as crazy as this.

As goofy as this movie can be that shot of Abigail dancing with the headless body freaked me out!

Fun fact: Melissa Berrera has talked about wanting to do a sequel where Joey and Father/Kristof Lazar become romantically involved. It's lowkey implied in the movie that there was something there. If you look at her face when he kisses her hand, she looks briefly hypnotized by him and his reaction indicates he may have liked the smell of her a bit more than he anticipated. Also, Melissa chose "Ana Lucia Cruz" as Joey's real name to pay homage to Lucy from Dracula. Melissa also said she would want Kristof to turn Joey so she could be a vampire bride. I would actually love a sequel like that, but idk if it would actually happen.

So the actor who plays Abigail's father is Matthew Goode. He's been in Downtown Abbey, Leap Year, The Imitation Game and one of my favorite and underrated series "A Discovery of Witches"

This movie was great. It didn't take itself too seriously but, it was still very creepy. RIP Angus Cloud.

I hardly watch any vampire films but this is currently one of my favorites I have seen so far! The cast did an amazing job, Melissa Berrera and Kathryn Newton killed it literally! Currently my favorite horror movie of the year I had such a blast watching this in theaters. I personally don’t care for vampire horror it’s just not my genre to go out of my way to watch but this was amazing. Especially our girl Melissa she was great.

The marketing of this movie did it all wrong. They told us right off the bat she’s a vampire. Imagine not knowing this when seeing the movie. It’s a fun movie but the element of surprise was taken from us.

Alex at the end when you said Radio Silence are making a monster movie... Abigail IS their monster movie!🤭 have you seen Ready or Not? They released that one in 2019 & it's a really good time too.

I really wish they hadn’t shown that she was a vampire in the trailer either, that would have been a great reveal! I think they could have used the scenes where they talk about him being like a crime boss or something and they would have to get away from him. And I think everyone would still have seen it cuz of Melissa Barrara!

Was originally meant to be called Draculas Daughter as it was a loose reimagining of it, but rumour has it due to Last Demeter bombing the name was changed😊

Love this movie so much! All the characters are great, but I especially love Peter. This is not Kevin Durand's (actor who plays Peter) first vampire project. He was also in The Strain, which is one of the best vampire shows ever made, and he played an absolute badass!

The father, He’s a famous actor for playing vampire in every vampire movies😂

To clear up confusion on why his cameo is such a revelation, Matthew Goode (mentioned by others as the actor who played Abigail's father, along with some of his filmography, not to mention the connection between him and Dan Stevens, fantastic as the lead of the Marvel character based show "Legion"), is notable as playing a vampire protagonist for all three seasons of "Discovery Of Witches" (great show, but lots of slow build), as well as being charismatically villainous in a film called "Stoker" (no vampiric themes, but definitely a great suspense, and yes, the title is named after Bram Stoker, author of ":Dracula"). Another Goode role is in the film adaptation of "Watchmen" where he portrays the enigmatic Ozymandius (the older version played by Jeremy Irons in the followup television series. Additionally, the creators of "Abigail" ties this film loosely to another of their films, "Ready Or Not" (if you haven't seen it, go watch it, it's amazing), with a visual clue, a painting in the background of a character from that film (seen right around the ballet attack involving the cross beat and leg stabbing), making those a shared universe. The filmmakers have also stated they are considering a future sequel to "Abigail".
