Watching *THE STRANGERS* for the FIRST TIME! | Movie Reaction 

i always get chills when i hear “because you were home”

the way the killers played with them this whole time was INSANE! and fCK you for that jump scare with you in the window! 😅

I don't get scared by movies anymore. Creeped out, yes but not scared. So a couple months ago, I was home alone so I decided to finally sit down and watch this movie in my living room at like 10pm with all the lights out. This movie got me paranoid for the next 2 nights that I was alone. During the movie I had to keep looking behind me the entire time and even wandered the house looking in each room with a knife. This movie did something a movie hadn't done in a while, got me scared.

Some of these characters decisions were so baffling like the friend showing up at the house not even announcing his presence just walking around silently like… sir call out to your friends. I like the look of the strangers especially the leader of the group he has the scarier mask of the three.

"Because you were home" will always be the scariest reason why they'd do that. Think about it. If the couple didn't decide to go to the house that day. They never would've encountered the strangers Also. The Killers' names are Bag Head (for the man). Doll Face (blonde girl). And Pinup Girl (for the black haired girl)

The person standing in the window at the start scared the hell out of me

I watched this the first time I was alone at home and then I forgot my neighbour was supposed to check up on me. That knock man....heart dropped

I think something unique about this movie is that the “scary” part of it didn’t stop in the morning. Usually if you make it to morning you’re safe, not the case here. Also the little look back down the hallway at 7:32😂😂

That "because you were home" line is terrifying. The strangers did this, out of nowhere, for absolutely no reason. The victims didn't do anything to them, it wasn't personal. It wasn't even a robbery. They terrorized and killed those poor people just because. The idea of something like that is horrific. And it happens all the time in real life. Victims are chosen for no reason other than wrong place, wrong time.

One of the best home invasion movies ever made.

This is the movie that made me paranoid to live alone for a long time. I’m still paranoid to get a house. Make sure my door is locked whenever I get home, make sure all the windows are locked at all times. I never answer the door after 7 pm unless I’m expecting and I make sure to check before unlocking the door. 0:47, this legit creeped me tf out. You don’t need anything paranormal, just plain human beings are more terrifying just because of what they are capable of

These types of movies are probably some of the scariest because they just feel so real. There is a french movie called "Them" that came out two years earlier and I'm pretty sure "The Strangers" is very much inspired by that one. And I will never forget how I felt watching that movie. I've never been so tense while watching a film.

The director based it on what he experienced as a child. His own neighborhood break-ins, the tate muders the manson family did, and the keddie cabin murders. He experienced burglars knocking on his door, asking if someone who didn't live there was home. He wanted to make the movie in the victims perspective and experiences. The possibility of it happening to anyone because they were simply home is terrifying.

Chucky season 2, episode 1. Chucky calls Jake on the phone. "Is Tamera home?" 😂

When bag man was behind the friend who got shot and you said what if he was like WHOA! ... that had me rollin!🤣🤣

It actually was based off true events. But the mixture of 2 1 was a person murdered at home late at night and the only suspect that was spotted on a camera, was never home The other was a group of burglars who’d scout out houses by asking if someone’s home. If there’s no answer, they would rob it. The fimakers just mixed these 2 real life scenarios into 1

Definitely was the first horror movie to compel me to get up and turn on some lights while viewing. I was home alone lmao

You should watch hush if you can and have never seen it. It's another home invasion movie but more along the lines of your next or ready or not.

I like the paranoia this movie tries to instill into the audience by having this be a random attack motivated by the fact they could do it. Like random acts of violence happen all the time so it isn't crazy that when home alone someone be sneaking around ready to kill you.

The Strangers: Prey at Night is the sequel to this, and is better in my opinion. And they’re just doing a TV show I think.
