After the accident Peter looks into the rear view mirror and sees the shadow of her headless body and immediately looks ahead quickly. He's in pure shock.

I'm STILL salty about that. This was one of the reasons why I just can't take the Oscars seriously anymore.

@@abc.animal5143the Academy awards are run by a bunch of jackasses if we are being honest. I know it is symbolic of film achievement but it really is quite stupid. There is no real gauge on how someone is officially considered to be a member of the Academy aside from winning an award. But there are many academy members who are not winners or even nominees. Because you can also just, pay to get in, pretty much. So it’s not film critics, film analysts, or even audiences that vote on the Academy awards. It’s a bunch of random people with connections to the industry in one way or another. This is why movies about making movies and movies about Hollywood and artists are such good Oscar bait. Consider this: (and this is an example I’m taking pretty directly from RU-vidr Lindsay Ellis) Francis Ford Coppola is not a member of the Academy. Meat Loaf is a member. Peter Jackson isn’t, but Steven Spielberg is on the board of governors. It’s almost completely random and at the end of the day. Always remember that War Horse made Meat Loaf cry, and that will go farther to getting the movie an award than the merit of the movie (not specifically War Horse I havent seen it)

Well said. It’s a difficult watch both because it’s really depressing and also because the tension never lets up it just keeps getting worse and worse, but it does do well for a rewatch, because there are so many seeds planted throughout the whole thing and it’s really satisfying to go back and see it all.

Funny enough I felt that way about Midsommar but not this movie. Don’t get me wrong it was a good movie and really heavy but it felt more like a traditional horror movie with the supernatural stuff. I think what disturbed me more about Midsommar was the lack of traditional horror, it was just pure psychological anguish wrapped up in a bright sunny set. Or maybe Midsommar just desensitized me to the gore of this movie.

@@xDezxdisasterx I own idle hands. And I have seen bad Milo several times. It has one of the funniest movie posters of all time. Very 80s🤣

It's because acting in this genre unfortunately rarely, if ever, gets recognized even though it should unless it's directed by someone like Kubrick and even then it probably won't!
