It took me four times to pass both parts of the driving test. I remember hearing about someone who took 13 times. You have your own nature talent and I’m sure you will be able to pass it in the end. Pulse if it ever becomes too much for you to carry on with it you know that we are all here for you.
What was the best thing you learned from the how to adhd book? Also the comment you made about people calling you smart at a young age, that happened me too but I had a negative effect later on. Because I identified with being smart I avoided things that made me seem or feel dumb. Changing my perspective from viewing myself as smart to saying hey my experience is low so ofc I will fail sometimes it is natural.
@@AlonsoSaav hi yes i had that same problem, i had a hard time trying new things because you always start by being bad at them :/ i might make another video about the book, but I'd say that the last chapter was the biggest thing i learnt. In terms of more practical tools I'd say the tip of putting things where they are accessible and where you are most likely to be reminded.
One thing I find is that if you focus too hard on self-growth, you end up feeling a lot of shame over the things you can't do. If you focus on living a fulfilling life, as you build passion towards your own life you will want to do the little extra things that might qualify as "growth" like picking up skills or keeping up with your health and it won't seem like a big deal. The purpose is to make you more capable and effective at doing the things you truly care about but they also have the benefit of meeting at least some external expectations which is nice. I hope you find your life that is fulfilling and surround yourself with more people that appreciate your strengths instead of harping on your weaknesses!
@@Emptynogin1 yes exactly, it's using the mindset of fulfillment in order to sneak in some growth and working on skills. It feels much more empowering and positive than just focusing on growth and what i lack at the moment. Thank you! 😊
Great video. Do yourself and me a favor and replay it for yourself. That can't be any more perfect. It can help if you hear it. I talk to myself (embarrassing), yet there's good advice same as I would give to others and it works. Whoever said you have ADHD... Well, very kind of them. The bulk of society is suffering from stupidity. You might be slower to catch onto things, simply means you need time to analyze things for the better. You're doing great.
Hi, i always rewatch my videos when i post them. I think you were trying to be kind, but one point of this video is to respect people's own identities. I self diagnose as ADHD, which isn't bad, it's value neutral. So to invalidate that on this video is quite ironic.
@radishraven9 I think you should get a professional analysis of the function of your brain. Other than your own. From what I understood, you are a doctor, not a psychologist. It sounds to me like you are Norwegian, and as a Norwegian myself, you have great accessability to health services. I'm genuinly not trying to be rude, but for your own peace of mind, I would personally do it. Wish you all the best.
@@TottoHolm hi i am swedish and i'm in the process of getting a diagnosis, and have been for about a year now. However i have now had 3 medical professionals suggest i have autism and ADHD. So hopefully i get a diagnosis by this autumn.
@@radishraven9 Ahh, close! Hope you didn't get offended by me calling you Norwegian, given our friendly rivalry and all ;) lol. I genuinely hope that you get a final diagnosis. ADHD especially is hard to diagnose, given how many other illnesses it can be that is similar. You seem like a genuine person and I do wish you well!
